How can bleach be SO GOOD? It's almost too much *_* I thought it was cute that Yammi, the big tough brain-squishing espada that he is, loves puppies. I knew he was a softy. Meanwhile, Ichigo is just running in circles...seems like he is sort of losing himself and the confidence he arrived at the tower with. I would feel bad for him if Ulquiorra wasn't so cool XD

I agree that it was pretty stupid of him to fire up a getsuga when Orihime could easily have been hit.. though he did stand up for her when she was being taunted. Man, as a Sakura fan, I couldn't help but see a parallel between the, "Sakura, in reality you..." and the, "Then let me tell you. You.."
WHY AREN'T IMPORTANT SENTENCES EVER FINISHED??

Anywho, loved the pained/sad expression from Ulquiorra. Can't wait for The Lust chapter XD

We got two erratic, teenage headcases, a taciturn arrancar ready to castrate limbs, a seemingly bloodthirsty oaf, and two devoted friends out to protect each other (the most dangerous of all). I wonder how this will resolve itself without too much blood, broken feelings and at least one death, eh?

I agree with the sentiment. I was getting tired of Ichigo holding back so I was really glad to finally see the mask come out. Now Ulquiorra's gonna bust out his resurrección form. Gotta love it! I wonder what Ichigo has planned in this fight. Since there have been hints of his hollow persona getting stronger, it would be nice to see him use a cero - maybe even have a special version hehe.

The classic Ishida/Ichigo conversation was funny.

At the end, the translation seemed a bit off as Ulquiorra said that "Espada above cuatro are forbidden to unleash their power within the dome." If that were accurate, then Ulquiorra wouldn't have to leave the dome, now would he? The translation probably meant Espada cuatro and above...

I haven't been a bleach fan for very long and I first got into it through the anime. Kubo's artwork has always been impressive but it just hit me how awesome Ichigo's bankai/hollow design is. The second panel on the page 10-11 spread just blew me away. I :notworthy: to Kubo's artistic talents.

This page was so badass...Seriously I can understand why Kubo leaves his backgrounds empty. With the way he draws his characters you only focus in on them and with all the fine detailing that he does you can get a good perspective of how that character is feeling. Looking at the panel I was actually stunned by Ichigo's action and it left me quite perplexed. It gives off an amazing vibe with a sense of fury and basically 'awakening of a sleeping beast' ready to be unleashed.

Once Ichigo knew that Inoue was safe, he didn't hold back. Just pure carnal and raw rage. He craves fighting and was just waiting to put on his mask and unleash his full power. Man I don't but I have to say this was one of the best drawn panels of Ichigo putting on his mask. You can just sense his strong desire to fight and this just reinforces the fact that he did come to HM to fight strong opponents. He desires battle and testing his power and the only thing besides that is protecting his friends. Once protecting his friends is not an issue he seeks battle and hardening himself as a warrior.

Notice how his mask has started to gain more thicker lines. Each time he fights with his mask on he improves his skills and becomes stronger. But it also closes the boundary between Shinigami and Hollow. The classic example of yin and yang, black and white, good or bad, that we see in stories. Ichigo is in a way becoming 'bleached' and so becomes a mixture of both of these making him a character of both sides of the coin.

I really like where Kubo is taking him with this direction because it doesn't make him a "pure" male protagonist but rather one who also holds a darker side to him. I for one think its bring a lot of depth and makes him more dimensional and strays away from your typical Shounen male lead.

Like I mentioned earlier, that image just left me stunned with the level of detail behind it. You're definitely spot on with the sense of fury that the image depicts. Personally, I got that feeling from the way Ichigo was drawn with his mouth wide open as if screaming in pure rage.

You know it's funny...I never really took note of the emptiness of some of the backgrounds. I think it's because of the reasons you stated since I was always more enthralled with the image of the character instead.
