Real or not I just don't want to pay Carbon Tax or whatever else they can scheme up. Global warming stuff should stay in the hands of the public, where it started, and stay out of the government's concern as much as possible.

Not like that, no. Even the most optimistic Republican strategists doubt they can make such gains as overall voter demographics are turning against them. Not to mention that bigger problems than simple taxes landed on Carter’s doorstep and Regan had the celebrity charm to help him.

Maybe not, but Republicans are known to win big.

Yeah i agree, if Israel owns that territory, it is in their sovereign right to build settlements there.

They might own a few areas, but not all of that area they are on is rightfully theirs.

Fox News: Fair & Balanced... as long as no one points out what's between the lines.
Fox News again accused of airing misleading video.

Personally, I'm not really surprised. Every news station probably has their own biases even if they're not supposed to. If there's anything to learn from this it is that we should not believe everything we hear from the media. People make your own decisions; Form your own opinions based on what you research and stop letting people like Beck and Hannity tell you what to think. /endrantfornow dry.gif

Thank you, I been telling people not to listen and do their own research, before you believe anything on the Fox Noise STATION.

Okay, this denial of global warming is getting ridiculous, because it’s been proven and the scientific consensus is overwhelming. You’ve got less than 10 skeptics. You might say “Only 57% of Americans believe global warming is real.” Yeah, and more than half believe in creationism. Instead of saying “Well this is happening so therefore global warming cannot be real” you should ask an expert “Wait, if the world is warming, why is it so cold?” The reason for your skepticism you are citing is weather, not climate. Anomalous cold snaps don’t disprove global warming; just because the overall trend is warming does not mean every place on the globe is hot. Scientists have made it clear that winters weren’t getting warmer, just shorter and drier. And 2009 is on its way to being the warmest year recorded thus far. There are several other skeptical arguments that have been proven incorrect. If global warming isn't real, then my last year of college was a waste of my time. Show me the list of accredited scientists who do not believe in global warming and where in Science and Nature magazines have they published their articles?

I should also note that while in 2007 Gore’s home was not green powered, that has changed since then.

You know, I debated about how I was going to respond or whether I was at all. I decided the most limited version is best.

All I'l going to say is this: This is the functional equivalent of CNN trying to fact-check a SNL skit. I was making a joke about something that has, in fact, happened to Al Gore more than once. The irony of his making a global warming speech on such a day should be pretty clear.

I am aware of the difference between a public opinion poll and the existence or non-existence of scientific phenomena and would never use such a statistic in debating the existence or cause of climate change as it has no bearing on either .

I've been a skeptic for some time and the recent string of record colds didn't suddenly turn me into a one. I am far less concerned whether their is warming or cooling than I am about the cause of any such change, since the answer to that question has obvious implications on public policy. The short version of my position is that I am simply not sufficiently convinced of mankind's impact on it that I'd be willing to support economically punishing cap and tax regulations or international endeavors like Kyoto and Copenhagen.

You speak of consensus, but I don't believe its anywhere near as strong as your or Al Gore say it is and my personal experience with the consensus claim is that it is used as a club to silence those who would dare speak out against it.

^ No Democrat in their right mind would vote for him, as most if not all think he's a crazy loon, and wouldn't set foot in a voting booth for him. And since you *need* Democratic votes to win an election, he really wouldn't stand a chance.

Ah, trusty old AP.

They conveniently run this two days after some rather damning material is posted from a British climate institute (at this time its believed to be the result of a hacker). It's not been proven to be 100% authentic yet (though what has come out so far suggests that it is) and its true meaning has yet to be determine, but what has come out so far isn't pretty.

I'm sure it's just a coincidence.

Of course, not. It'd be the equivalent of the Dems running Keith Olberman or Ed Shultz.

Thank you. Its nice to hear someone say that "Every news station probably has their own biases even if they're not supposed to." Instead of the whole "Only Faux News leads the gullible masses." If people held a microscope to other news stations, like they do to Fox News, they would see they're almost all the same.

Every news station is biased and presents fake doctored fear mongering news. Some of the few exceptions are the BBC and Christian Science Monitor, and even then you should be careful.

I can back this up with first hand accounts (reputable witnesses) I've listened to, but I'm too tired to type stories right now. I can provide them later if anyone wants.
