More like on Aeriths part. During the 1st part of the game where Aeriths is still alive he's not..well. and if you go on the date with the two of then she says something about"wanting to get to know the real Cloud" and then she's killed before the real Cloud wakes up....it's really difficult to love someone you don't really know...the whole point of the emotional impact of Aeriths death is in part the wasted potential of her life. We don't get to know what COULD have been because she's dead.

There are also hints that she was only originally attracted to Cloud because of the Zack mannerisms he copied due to the reunion protocol. ( man I love this game....it managed to much story...)

Cloud in disk 1 where you rack up the love points with your chosen lady, turns out to not be you at all, YOU as you are controlling Cloud are in fact the puppet of jenova.

In disk 2 Cloud wakes up and you no longer chose for him.

It was all one big ass red herring.

I don't have a problem with Clerith as a ship, but the compilation made it pretty clear that canon was directed at Cloti.

I mean there is no doubt that Cloud felt SOMETHING for Aerith before her death, but the question will always be, how much of it is actually him, and not him being influenced by his Zack-zombie state? The fandom itself was what really drove me to Like Cloti...but i too adore Tifa's character in general   

Its actually very funny to me that two of my Favorite Characters ( sakura and Tifa) both happen to essentially boil down to being hand to hand combatants.

I think the problem is you keep thinking we want Seinen story. We don't. Just a good one. It clearly forgets that and just want to throw every new bone at us, even when it don't connect. That's why I think it has a mixed of over the top anime yet taking itself serious, which is a no-no.

I'm not asking for Seinen. Heck, it doesn't need to be one to be "good."

Also, your thing about Tsundere's being hated is lol worthy.

Are they hated in Japan where they are basically cultural tropes and every other female character is one? again, differences in east to west. Hell there are Tsundere's that are popular here in the U.S, Like Asuka Langely. Being a Tsundere does not mean you will be automatically hated.

Well, he also insinuated NS is hated because we're too smart for everyone else and we make them feel bad in comparison.

Rukia is like, more popular BY FAR in Japan AND the west which puts a major dent in his whole conservative/liberal assertion. If anything you would think fans would RALLY to Orihime if they liked the more "Conservative/demure woman." but lol nooooope. Hate so bad Kubo called them out on it and featured her MORE like a proper, PROUD writer SHOULD do.

Being Tsundere clearly has VERY little impact on whether a character is liked or disliked.

We could go through several hundred characters and compile fandom reactions on them, and the statistics would be EVERYWHERE.

I think Ball O Lies mentioned it before, but Sakura interferes with NH and SNS. For NH, the minute Sakura dissed Naruto in ch. 3, a lot of people did not like her (by the didn't hate her either). It didn't help with her love for Sasuke either. So when Hinata was introduced, Sakura became their #1 hated character.

 

For SNS, the minute Sakura made up her mind about killing Sasuke, I've seen a lot of growing hate from SNS. Kishi established how much Naruto is in love with Sasuke, and Sakura chooses to ruin it. 

 

Plus Naruto became more wide spread than other mangas. For most, Naruto was their first manga, and most only viewed the anime as well, so they won't like the Tsundere trope at first. But her Tsundere nature isn't only why she is hated. Bleach also was popular, but Rukia is more liked than Sakura because she was useful since the beginning, and she doesn't have a love interest. Sakura developed in part 1, but very late to make people see her in a different light. Sakura (and Ino) also choose to break friendship and was willing to leave her entire family/ friends over a boy. 

 

Then you you have the anime which manages to successfully hate every character. From filler, Sakura was confused about who should she save first; I don't expect her to owe Naruto anything, but after two murder attempts and negative development over someone who was there for you, the fact that she is confused is pretty heartbreaking and gave more ammo to Antis. Sasuke is important to her, but to the point were she's unsure about who to save, after almost being killed?

 

Similar characters like Rukia, were never in situations like this that would make you hate their character compared to Sakura. Kishi kept Sakura far too long in the background and have such a loyal dedication for Sasuke, and the anime depict her as a witch more than a Tsundere, people couldn't like her as much as others.

Lmao, no, no, what we should do is, go back in time, CAPTURE Kishimoto and force him to write a decent Climax, falling action and ENDING to Naruto. I mean we would literally have to go back THAT far to fix all the screw ups he made  

Like literally what do we have to gain OR LOSE just by being who and how we naturally are? I Highly doubt NH happened JUST because NS shippers were like "Wow Kishi is so sexist!!!1!!" and if it did, that's not something we should be ashamed/upset over. As for us bringing the Hate of the rest of the fandom onto us because we point out these discrepancies...uhm...Who the hell cares if the fandom likes us or not?

When people WRITE [well...] their entire PURPOSE is to make people THINK and QUESTION. That is the PURPOSE of art. 

Unless of course you're a PLEEB and you LIKE just being spoonfed gruel, if you aren't asking questions and thinking, and feeling SOMETHING about what you are reading, then frankly the story is no good. Saying  "Naruto Fans don't wanna think." Is BS. Plain and simple. I mean yea, some of them think poorly and have bad ideas, but at least they are thinking and feeling something.
