Sasuke: Your dad is useless. He has no arms.
Minato: Wha-?
Naruto:......I see what you mean, but I will still protect him.
Minato: (That's my boy.)

Sasuke: Your mother is useless. She couldn't do anything against Tobi.
Kushina: How dare yo-
Naruto: .....But she's still my mother. I will protect her.
Kushina: (My son has grown.)

Sasuke: The fifth Hokage is useless. Her regenerating abilites are nothing superior to the likes of us. What did she train those 50 years for?
Tsunade: You bra-
Naruto: ....Even though I understand, she's very important to me so I will protect her.
Tsunade: (Oh Naruto *tears*)

Sasuke: Look at Iruka. He's still a Chuunin, and much more weaker than any of our generation.
Naruto: Yes, but he's still the first person to acknowledge me. I cannot hold that against him.
Iruka: (Naruto....you....I'm proud of you)

Sasuke: Look at you. You spout out non-sense about the will of fire and all that crap. Do you think you can become Hokage with just petty words?
Naruto: You're right. How can I become Hokage when I can't even save my friend?

This is hilarious and it'd be awesome if Sasuke did it. Especially the last line one since that response was crap when he stated the first time.

Come to think of it, it almost felt like this chapter is the result of the whole Team 7 being back. Like when they do teamwork, Naruto didn't understand or perhaps believe that Sasuke wasn't being team player. Remember how Kakashi was telling them that team is the key. Well Naruto was in the zone as you may say. But Sakura pretty much picked up quick that Sasuke wasn't in it. Then Naruto starts to see it when they're inside of Susanoo. No one has truly said, "Team is not the key because it only about Naruto and Sasuke" until this chapter. So while we get it, this supposed to be wake up, especially to those who didn't get it. It's not that Kishi wants to keep hating it, though he has done it a lot, it's more like giving the idea to Naruto (not us, though those who didn't get it), that Sasuke wasn't playing team. Sakura gets it and knew it, but Naruto's response is the first that actually gave her a positive feel.

When was the last time she got a good feeling or anything to reassure? Well, just now. Before it? It's been a while, so in short, never say never. The fight just begun (stop thinking we're in chapter 8 of the battle), so anything can happen. Just take it easy.

What if, the only way to defeat Kaguya is by destroying some sacred moon stone/jewel that's hidden in her castle? Think about it, the body could be just made up of chakra, but can't be destroyed, like edo people. So, Sakura and Kakashi go through challenges in the castle all the way up to the top level, where the stone is, while Naru/Sasu are fighting Kaguya and buying them time.

The boys can show off their powers, while Sakura and Kakashi can show their worth, even without power ups. Kakshi's eperience and quick thinking, with Sakura's seal activated can be all they need to get through and if not, the edo kages can help along the way.

idk only sasuke and naruto (ying & yang) can seal kaguya, at least sasuke said that in this chapter

Why do people NOT ship these two? I just don't get it.

Probably cause they hate Sakura. When she's probably the most developed female character in the whole show.

I respect Hinata, but Sakura deserves some too.

Seeing it the way you put it, to conclude, Sasuke is a complete pessimist and Naruto is a complete optimist? Well, talk about and opposite character they are. Sad but true in a way  .

It is?? The thread is moving quite fast, everybody want to pour out their opinion.

Anyway, there is a possibility for that IF in a way we are shown that any of the character's that available in the field (Naruto & Sasuke excluded) detect or show any hint of a development towards that plot. In the moment, I think we need to assumed that the way to seal Kaguya is through SasuNaru power alone, she may be made of pure tremendous amount of natural chakra but she is still a solid human(?) being (I say human because I don't know if she is human or alien) with flesh and running blood(?). Too much uncertainty actually.

Don't worry. I can bet USD500 that he will say that terrible one-liner again before the end of the manga. Most likely in the final arc where he battles with Sasuke.

Well, actually my post had nothing to do with Sasuke being a pessimist and Naruto being a optimist. However, it has everything to do with Naruto kissing Sasuke's ass.

It's true. And truth burns.

Sakura's reaction to what Naruto said reminded me of Karin's reaction when Sasuke stabbed her.

Still Naruto agreeing that Sakura and Kakashi are useless seems OOC as kitten especially after what he said a few chapters ago.

I feel like some misunderstood Naruto's behavior. He does not believe Sakura and Kakashi are useless. He doesn't see Sakura negatively all of a sudden and sees her as burden in general just because he's showing some sense. We've seen how much he's praised them and how he even agreed Sakura fight in 631. Naruto does believe in them, but how much he believes in them depends on the context and the enemy they're facing. It's all about the situation.

If he says Kakashi or Sakura can't do anything against a certain enemy that's more powerful than everyone in the world, it's doesn't mean he thinks they're useless in general. But it's also not right IMO to expect Naruto to constantly believe in Sakura against an enemy such as Kaguya that even he has trouble with; it's not a crime if he doesn't leap to their defense and admits they can't do a lot against her. Most of the posters here are saying Naruto thinks she useless or not useless instead of finding a middle ground.

Naruto being reasonable in saying Kakashi and Sakura are not a match for Kaguya like he and Sasuke are is fine. It's perfectly acceptable if he believes that because it's simply the truth. And it also doesn't debunk his statement of teamwork in 675. All Naruto was basically saying is that Sakura and Kakashi aren't as strong as him and can get in the way because of wanting them safe, but he's not opposed to teamwork either. In my point-of-view, Naruto is agreeing that him and Sasuke are their only hope and that Sakura (and Kakashi) aren't at their level. Which again is just the truth. It's not Anti-NS or meant to put Naruto in a bad light.

However, Naruto's response to Sasuke is debatable. It's possible he was only responding to staying alive. But I still believe he saw logic in what Sasuke was saying completely and acknowledged it, but he doesn't care about that because he'll always be there to protect his comrades. That's the part that really mattered.

I'd like to let go of this topic now, but I had to clarify a few things first.

Maybe the reason why Naruto acknowledged Kaka/Saku can't do anything now, is because now they're going up against Kaguya. She's said to be stronger than the sage of the six paths and so far has been proving it, by holding her own quite well against Naru/Sasu. Naruto said he hates those who lie to themselves and right now he's not about to give them false hope that they can do something against Kaguya. However, that can be because Naruto doesn't know how they can help right now, it doesn't mean Kaka/Saku will be of no use forever.

Because in all honesty, Kaguya could have taken out Saku/Kaka in a split second, when she was near them and only transported Naru/Sasu away, cause they're the only ones that pose a threat to her. Kishi is keeping them there for a reason, otherwise this could have gone like Pain's fight did. I'm not saying their role will be monumental, but it has to have an effect against the villain or move the story forward in some way.

Kishi has just been doing recap, like some have been saying, of things we know and seems to be saying over and over again " Sakura and Kakashi are useless, they can't do anything now. Sasuke and Naruto are the only ones who can do anything." but his words and actions somewhat contradict themselves. Because if they're so useless, why are you keeping them around. Pairing drama could have been eluded in the IT for Sakura and during the N/S fight, so that's no reason to keep her around. And what of Kakashi? He's useless without the sharingan right? Also, why have edo kages move like they're about to do something, when they were struggling with one eyed Madara?

I believe, this is just how Kishi is portraying it to surprise us with a twist. He's been pretty predictable with a lot of new revelations, that now he's trying to throw curve balls at us. Like many have said, it will all come full circle. I don't like how much he's putting Sakura down, but I'm just gonna have patience and see where this goes, cause I'm too far in to just drop the manga.

@Ramenanmitsu:

IThe whole post wasn't targeted at you specifically, just all of us arguing about this. The only thing I disagreed with about your posts on this topic was Naruto seeing Sakura negatively as burden now after this and only that point was directed at you. Maybe I misunderstood it, but you made it come off as it was just in general and I was confused on that because I didn't see it at all.

I'm just saying that there's a middle ground in this chapter and neither side of the debate is entirely right nor entirely wrong IMO.

You don't have to give me an explanation. I want to let go of this topic myself atm.

And again.....this also made sense!

Edit: @4Life your theory on Kishi hearing stuff other fandoms are saying and then shutting them up, this what I've been wondering since yesterday because since the past couple of chapter, all the ridiculous claims that were made, were downright put to dust in the next chapter. That's what is happening!

I'd imagine waiting a week each time for 16 pages will get negativity from the fandom, but this is obviously one of the negative cases.  Let's not forget that we can't expect things to happen every week.  Some chapter's focus has to be on build up; others on explanations and the like.  Of course, I understand where others are coming from when saying that the pace is too slow.  After all, each week a 16 page chapter is released. In the anime, three chapters can be squeezed into one episode.  Doing the math, we get one-third of anime a full anime episode.  I understand how people can get frustrated when one chapter doesn't live up to par.  I just refuse to get upset over such things, and look at the positive.  We can complain all we like that "nothing happened this chapter!" or "A chapter was wasted rehashing the same material", but it doesn't change anything, does it?

Most of the frustration this time is about Sakura.  I don't agree with some saying she's looking toward Sasuke to care about her.  In my opinion, it was never about Sasuke.  Sakura's insecurities aren't new.  They were introduced since chapter 54.  Her goal was to stand with the boys and not be relegated to the back.  She thought she caught up to them in chapter 632.  However, that was before they were deemed chosen ones by Hagoromo, and given god-like powers (at least temporarily), and it didn't help her own debut in chapter 632 was less than extraordinary with her having to be helped after her latest feat.  In chapter 676, Sakura felt that distance again from them.  Also, from then on, it was only Naruto and Sasuke fighting, with her and Kakashi just being there.  Sasuke, being him, didn't help by bluntly saying she can't do anything, and in the latest chapter, he flat out says he saved her and Kakashi, just because of positioning, and harps on he and Naruto are the only ones truly necessary in this battle, implying the others are just dead weight, and they shouldn't waste time worrying about them.  Understandably, this did not help her confidence issues.  Also, even though, Sakura knows what to expect from Sasuke, those words still hurt, because she still cares about him, and will never stop caring about him, just like Naruto.  As they say, words hurt the most when it's from someone you care about.

If anything, this is why she got scared when it looked like Naruto was agreeing with Sasuke.  She wasn't there when Itachi lectured Naruto on not forgetting his comrades, and doing everything himself.  In fact, even if she was there, the fact is that Naruto is now one of the strongest people ever, and anyone can get absorbed in power.  Sasuke looks to be following that path.  It's well within Sakura's fear to worry that Naruto might become that way.  However, he still remains himself, and refutes what Sasuke was saying using his own words from back during the Land of Waves.  Sakura was assured Naruto is still the same Naruto.

And this is what I have been stressing out too, since the past couple chapter obviously progressing slow due to restricted panel.

*Curse you, quota restriction!!*  :argh:

And the story is progressing slow since, IMO, Kishi is trying to be as detail as possible. The reasons, well, I think it is has been quite the obvious from the story progression. For now, a cup of tea and enjoying the ride will be nice.

Edit: @4Life your theory on Kishi hearing stuff other fandoms are saying and then shutting them up, this what I've been wondering since yesterday because since the past couple of chapter, all the ridiculous claims that were made, were downright put to dust in the next chapter. That's what is happening!

Well that and the fact that this all will be proven wrong soon enough. I mean having Hokages around is going to say otherwise. Right now, they are going to see how far two can go. Remember, Ashura or rather the yang side is about love (all around) backing up to overcome the great odd. We only playing Sasuke's way, the "logical" way. The fight just begun and things about the difference of teamwork from Naruto and Sasuke, including Naruto now knowing Sasuke not caring Team 7 at all. It's the reason why we don't see Sakura's multiple reactions on what Sasuke saying, just the aftermath because she knows him.

I did not get the 'math' you played on the last line. The 'don't see Sakura's multiple reactions....' thing. But you gotta admit it, Naruto and Sasuke share good teamwork. Whatever their differences or motives are or however worst Sasuke is or however different their ideologies are, their teamwork is plain awesome!

Part 1 and the beginning of part 2 was much more tactical, which is something I really enjoyed. And I love cqc too. NaruGaiKaku vs Obito. That fight was full with awesome strategy and cqc. That's like the only fight I enjoyed in this war lol.
