You know, that's something that has been bothering me. Why Suigetsu went with Orochimaru and not join with Sasuke? Karin can be arguably about healing, BUT, did we forget that maybe it's just sensing chakra since she's known for that? I mean maybe she's only used to track Tsunade and that's it. It's a maybe. Think about it, why even go to Tsunade? And why Juugo joined Sasuke instead of following Orochimaru. This seriously raised many questions.

Well, Juugo is attached to Sasuke... He considers himself as his shield... So no surprising that he's there with Sasuke. I could understand why Karin went with Orochimaru. She is useful for her healing powers and her tracking powers but Suigetsu...mmh, he hasn't some great skills, except that he himself is made of water. Jiraiya'se body is in the abyss of the sea in Amegakure. Could be Orochimaru ha some intentions to get his DNA in order to make his edo tensei and so a revival of old sannins on the battlefield? I doubt but it still a theory.

I think it's because Kishi wanted the rookie groups to shine. The past few chapters, to me, I had a good feeling with all of them growing up, and that Sasuke joining team 7 again in battle was like a dream. All around good feeling. But I think the last pages were more of like a "snap back" into reality. Sakura's momentary happiness sort of reflects it. She's crying because she's really happy about Sasuke and Naruto working together, but at the end of the chapter it's all gone. I feel as if her change in attitude shows that once again the battle ground is changing once again. They soon will need stronger people

The stronger ninja have to come back into the spotlight. I see the Kages coming back into action pretty soon with the Tsunade/Oro switch scene. Team Gai? Where are they?  I guess the death of Neji took a real hit in them but Gai/Rocklee would have been the first ones rushing into battle 10tail clones to me. I need to see more Temari too.

And, what is making Gamabunta so busy??

So Kishi is actually sacrificing pragmatism for the purpose of offering symbolical accession to the rookies in order to offer them a final moment of glory and verify that they are capable of surpassing their predecessors (most of them at least). Well that still begs the question why and how their commanders would allow six Chunin level shinobi to fight against the most powerful creature in existence without the protection or assistance of more able-bodied soldiers. Yes, the glorification of their progress has already ended and they are once again being relegated to the side but it would be helpful to understand what the more powerful shinobi were doing at this time. Were they incapacitated during the Jubi's previous onslaught or are they just in the background carrying out some other order?

Whatever Kishi's intentions are for Team Guy it's likely not going to be related to their current passivity. At least that's the desire many of us have for them. Both Lee and Guy would be very effective assets to have, especially if they decided to finally remove their weights and utilize their optimal speed. Can you imagine two taijutsu masters running at such speeds as though they were a blur constantly bringing down numerous replicas with their attacks? If they implemented the gates into their assault then they may even outperform Sakura's attack in 632. Oh, there is just so many unused strategies and techniques that could have shifted the tides of this battle already.

Kishi really is following a single set path where he purposely restricts or hinders certain characters from fighting in order to contribute to the length of a scene or to dramatize something. At least that appears to be what is happening.

If it's true then Kishi is raping his own world because really Sasuke already went from the battlefield to Konoha, from Konoha to the Uzumaki temple then they returned to the village then he's teleported from the village to the battlefield, Orochimaru then goes to the hidden rain village to aquire Jiraiya's body then goes back to the battlefield all this in one day.

Naruto Sakura and Kakashi took three days to reach the location where Gaara is which was closer than going to the hidden village.

But who cares this is just another generic battle shounen.

See, it's still a mystery because Suigetsu is with them and not with Juugo. Again, why go to Tsunade? Hell, judging by Orochimaru's reaction, he wasn't expecting anything about her, injured or normal. Pretty much, he has intention in mind before reaching to Tsunade. It's as if to say, "Oh, you're dying. Haha, this plan just gets easier and easier." Karin is a tracker and healer, but what if she's used for tracking only. Healing part may be an add-on since now they know Tsunade is in terrible shape. You get what I'm saying. This is getting interesting.

But I don't know why Orochimaru woul kill Tsunade and other kages. It's possible that he's there simpy for giving her his help. But the point: Suigetsu was really necessary for him about that?

Jiraiya.

I agree! I think at this point Tsunade is dead and what a kick if Oro has both of the other sannins under his control! This would set up a beautiful old generation vs new generation battle! I think whatever Sasukes plans, Orochimaru is about to undermine them. To what end I'm not sure but I can see the scenario once again forcing Sasuke to fight alongside team seven.
Unless.......

If it is a full scale backstab with Sasuke backing Oro I have a feeling Juugo will intercede, wasn't it stated that he was from a clan that were known snake sages? I can't remember details but watching him go berserk against Sasuke would be amusing!

Well, I wouldn't say kill her, but say like their plan is to force Tsunade to make Sasuke a Hokage. If she was fine, she will be like hell no and they fight. But, since she's dying, it made everything easier. Pretty much, want to live? Give the title to Sasuke. Get it? I'm basically saying that Karin was only going to be used to track Tsunade, but since she's in danger, time to use a bait with healing. Again, who in there knows Tsunade was dying? Nobody. Therefore, the plot thickens with Orochimaru to be the first to see.

Considering Sakura's face in her last panel, I'd say she'll be back in the action soon enough. It's clear to me now that she's growing more concerned about what Sasuke's intentions are (only strengthened by Sai and Juugo's talk), and what it means to herself, Naruto and the Alliance. I'm confident she will be directly involved.

The chapter was to demonstrate Sakura's improved healing abilities granted by her seal, but by no means does it mark the end of her physical development. If Kishi itends to have her stand alongside Naruto and Sasuke properly, then she'll get the chance to do so come the next arc.

BTW - I haven't had the chance to watch GoT in any sustained degree, but the whole 'red wedding' scenario in regards to Sasuke's betrayal seems to be rather popular. Not that I can imagine such a scene as I think it would be far too gory for this series.

Lol. I'm only making it popular because while gory, it seems you can actually work with it. Sasuke is playing a good guy role. Suspicious is being played already, much being suspicious about the song the people were playing. So when the moment strikes, the betrayal is engaged. It won't happen the same way I said, because yeah, who are we going to root for? Hinata?

Here's a funny thought for those claiming that Orochimaru is going to coerce Tsunade. Why doesn't Orochimaru offer Sasuke his position as the Otokage/leader/whatever of the Sound Village? It was proven in P1 that Otogakure is looked upon as an actual political and military entity when Konoha allowed their shinobi to take part in their exams without protest offered denouncing the village as an illegitimate organization fabricated by an international criminal. The Sound Village may not be as powerful as Konoha nor would it coincide with Sasuke's "intentions" to abide by what Itachi desired of him but he would have influence over quite a few shinobi and it does make for an hilarious what-if.

Was the fate of Otogakure following Orochimaru's "death" ever explained? They just seemed to fade into obscurity back at the beginning of P2.

Nice. This chapter basically confirmed Team 7 to be the new sannin, what with that panel of Hiruzen remembering the old sanin. I really liked his little smirk. He seemed both proud and highly amused. :P

I also really liked how Shizune commented on Sakura's abilities and how she's "a really skilled girl". It's so nice for Sakura to get some more recognition. :D

The battle with the Juubi only gets better. Naruto and Sasuke's combo attack was awesome. I'm really looking forward to seeing this fight in animated form.

As for why Sakura was crying, I think it was out of joy. She's happy that Team 7 are back again and working together. However, the way she cut off Katsuyu could mean that she already knows about Tsunade's condition. I just hope that if Tsunade is going to die that there will be a moment between her and Sakura and if Orochimaru really is going to use her as an edo tensei then I hope that there will be a fight between them. I mean, how badass would that be? A battle between master and student! Sannin vs. neo sannin!  :wow:

As for Sasuke's "Burn it down..." comment, well it could mean any number of things. It could mean that he somehow intends to betray Naruto and Sakura and the alliance. It could also be a sign of his agreessive tendencies i.e. "I will become Hokage" and "I don't care what you think about me". No matter what, it definitely gives off a sinister vibe.

Also, I would have really liked to see a new slug. It's not really a complaint, because I'm just glad that Sakura can even use the summoning technique. It's just that we have now seen a multitude of toads and we even got a new snake called Aoda, so it would have been cool is we could see some other slugs as well.

I hope it's not another repeat of what happened during Pain's invasion of Konoha where Tsunade uses up all her strength to heal a bunch of fodders who end up just sitting around watching the fight. Sakura better call back the slugs and go fight. I'll have a fit if she sits it out just to heal fodders. :argh:

But shouldn't Katsuyu have been busy too since it was assisting Tsunade?

I hope too ^^' It's complicated, at the same time i'm quite sure that Kishi will make her fight after that =) , and at the same time i hope Kishi will not disapoint us because he did in the past sometime lol

If it was joy because she thought Sasuke became good? or just towards the fact Naruto and Sasuke are cooperating together instead of fighting to death?

Indeed. Come to think of it, it's not all that gory, just....yeah. Naruto can do this. Not saying it will, but they can do it. I mean we went through Immortal Arc, didn't we?

Off topic: I think joffrey is really one of the best villain i think he should receive an award because he  interprets the character with such an appeal that it's impossible for you to not hate him.

I know. I said the same thing.

On-topic: You know, I think the summons made sense.

Naruto's summon: He expected Gamabunta, but he got Gamakichi. Which could raise the question where is his pop then? Busy for what? It could be red herring, but you never know.

Sasuke's summon: Manda is dead isn't he? Only that 2.0 happen, but let's face it, he won't get any trust. So, best to use the next runner.

Sakura's summon: Katsuya. I think the stronger you are, the more powerful summon you are able to do, which is Gamabunta didn't come because he's "busy" so Gamakichi took his place. That said that mean it's not really up to you, it's up to how strong you are to summon level. That said this is a good compliment for Sakura's strength. So yeah, I think this explains it.

Off topic - I think it might be best I get a hold of the series (it's in its 3rd season, right?) and start from the beginning, work my way through the story so I'm familiar with the characters. That way, I'm sure I'll feel the full ripples of the events of the red wedding.

Can't say I agree with that, Dark. They were thinking about both of them, not Sasuke alone. Unless Hinata finally started to think about someone other than Naruto...
