When did nh (and thus ss) happen?
Base on the interview and news so far, I think I could make conclusion that :

1. From the very first part of the manga.
So when kishi create sasuke and sakura, he mean them to be a couple at the end of the manga. And Hinata sketch with naruto in the background is meant to be naruto love interest.

2. At the end of part 1/beginning of part 2.
Hinata stalking naruto from behind the electric poll before naruto and jiraiya go to training trip for two and a half year at the last chapter of part 1.
That's when kishi decide nh. That scene is mean to be romantic nh.

3. In 2010/after kage summit arc or beginning of war arc.
Sakura drop of popularity due to her confession and Hinata rise of popularity due to her confession. Made kishi choose nh over NS.

4. From chapter 615 to chapter 700.
Including the last.

In my opinion :
1. He plan nh and ss from the beginning like what he say in the interview.
2. Just like number 1, but this time he change the time line.
3. Nh happen due to popularity.
4. I sold my soul to sa..... I mean studio clown.

Personally I think the reason why nh happen because of popularity.
In this case Hinata popularity.

It was always the reason I felt NH was such a threat, because of it's popularity and in the end I was right to fear it.

Yeah, the thing that keep me read this manga after pain arc is the battle and NS. In war arc the thing that keep me to read this manga is NS. And maybe naruto vs sasuke.

When I only care about pairing in shonen battle manga, it only show how bad this manga has become.

Same I'm actually reding Hunter X hunter and man everything flows so well, really a great shonen and no cheap drama.

The war arc was really awful, established rules being broken left and right, everyone can use doton when it was said a shinobi can only use 2 elements and 3 at best, Naruto saved when half of Kyubi was put back into him then why did Kushina die ?, the horrible Obito revelation (while I think the concept of a dark Naruto was a good idea the way it has handled was so poor : "Rin, Rin, Rin" again good idea poor execution ), Sakura and Hinata more focused on their love interest when the world is at stake get your priorities straight for kitten's sake (how is that realistic ?), the underwelming Juubi (so much hype for that), the reincarnation kitten, ghost Obito and Kakashi's perfect Susano, cheap power up, boring fights, boring villains, rushed NaruSasu and the apotheose of course with the ending. Kishi really outdid himself with each chapter, kittening hack.

It would have saved the movie. Making it a series of their world. Milk yes but kitten might as well milk it further without conclusion.

Well hunterxhunter is a great shonen manga. I never read it but I watch the anime. It's truly good.

I don't have problem with naruto survive with half Kyubi IF kishi explain it, like naruto is the perfect jinchuriki and can utilize Kyubi life power. But he didn't.
It the same with doton user.

Kakashi ps is a fanservice move and asspull. Jubi is weak.

Yup for a battle that hype for 400+ chapters, naruto vs sasuke is a truly disappoint fight. Only 5 chapter? Really kishi.

Kishi should tell us that obito is an orphan. Thus making rin his only light is a valid move. He add obito is an orphan after rin dead. He must be thinking it's a shallow move. And no obirin NS parallel while it so obvious.

We truly overestimate kishi.

It's obvious what was planned by Kishi from the beginning, you just look at the manga (ie NS). It's obvious what SP planned since the start. You just have to look at the end. They're all scum.
