I think the speculation of this movie having NaruHina romance (or having a big focus on it) might be completely false because there seems to be a Winter Festival in it with people giving presents to other people, so why would "romantic love" be the focus on it and not "love".

 

Bonds, Friendships, "love", Winter Festival.

well first off hinabi was taken and the hyugas are being targeted and the villain is kaguyas ancestor so it makes sense that hinata would have a role. also naruto isnt wearing the red one that she made, hes wearing a blue one.

For all the evidence pointing to NH, there doesn't seem to be any signs of romantic attraction from Naruto. It's just all about Hinata and her feelings, like the NH pairing itself.

Also was this movie REALLY confirmed to be about "romantic love" or just "love"? Was it really confirmed to be about romance?

Kishi said the movie is about love. The trailers don't actually show Naruto wearing the Red Scarf, it's a blue/green? scarf he wears, the Red is the one Hinata is gifting him when the enemies attack, an she drops it, it's unsure if he'll wear it anytime later.

 

The scarf itself seems to be linked to their youth, Apparently Kishi's decided to mess with canon and add in a NaruHina kids moment that looks like Naruto gets angry at Hinata for some reason, which for me is the biggest sticking point, the fake inserted history that has never even been hinted at in the Manga.

Kishi says a lot of things that are inconsistent. Its the guy who had no idea how kill off Madara. If he gives a conclusive ending to the pairing war... the film could lose a lot of money. I mean the manga ending could have Naruto telling that he kept his promise and that her forhead is beautiful (that would be his confession) and Sakura hugging him in tears (as a yes to his feeling). It would be the most subtle way to resolve the pairing issue.
