■尾田さんがやったのなら、僕もやってみようと
忍者バトルアクション作品『ＮＡＲＵＴＯ－ナルト－』のアニメ化１０周年を記念して、７月２８日から劇場版アニメ『ＲＯＡＤ ＴＯ ＮＩＮＪＡ －ＮＡＲＵＴＯ ＴＨＥ ＭＯＶＩＥ－』が公開される。劇場版９作目にあたる本作は原作の岸本斉史（まさし）自ら、初めて企画からストーリー、キャラクターデザインに至るまで、全面的に参加しているという。
岸本 実は映画の７本目あたりから「何かアイデアはありませんか？」って言われていたんですけど、週刊連載で忙しいからと断っていたんですよ。でも、今年に入ってアニメが１０周年を迎えたのを機に、もともと温めてきたアイデアをやってみようかな……と思ったんです。
―実際に始めてみて、ものすごく大変だったんじゃないですか？
岸本 尾田栄一郎（おだえいいちろう）さんが映画『ＯＮＥ ＰＩＥＣＥ ＦＩＬＭ ＳＴＲＯＮＧ ＷＯＲＬＤ』をやっていたときに大変そうだなって思っていたんです。で、実際に自分がやってみたら本当に大変でした（苦笑）。でも……やり始めたらスイッチが入ってしまって、結果的にはマンガと同じぐらいの力を注ぎました。最終的にはマンガの中でできないことを映画でやることができたので、ちょっとした息抜きにはなりましたけどね。
―映画を手がけたのは尾田さんを意識したのも理由だと？
岸本 それは意識しますよね。尾田さんがやったから、僕もやってみようという気持ちはありました。ただ、自分がやってみてわかったのは、尾田さんも映画を作るのに相当プレッシャーがあったんだろうなって……。
―一番大変だったことは？
岸本 スケジュール管理ですね。週刊連載をしながら、映画の内容やデザインもやらなきゃいけない。今回の内容が家族ものなんですけど、プライベートの時間がまったく取れなくなって、家族をほったらかしにしちゃったんです。作者自身が家族第一になっていないという状況になりました（苦笑）。
―なぜ、今回は家族ものを？
岸本 僕自身、もともと家族ものの作品が好きなんですよ。映画では『バック・トゥ・ザ・フューチャー』やマフィアものといった家族を裏テーマにしている作品をよく観ています。連載では、すでにこの世にいない両親を登場させることはできませんが、映画の中ではそれができる。それが今回一番大きかったですね。ナルトの両親への想いや両親からのナルトへの想いをいつかきちんと描きたいと思っていましたから。なので、今回できてうれしかったです。
―岸本さんご自身が家族を持たれた影響もあるのでは？
岸本 確かに自分が家族を持ったことは大きいです。家族がいないと、もうすでにつぶれちゃってますね。今日着ているこのジャケットも奥さんが買ってきてくれて……。普段まったく外に出ないんで、部屋着しか持ってないんですよね。あとはベタな話ですけど、携帯の中に子供の動画を入れていて、仕事がキツいときにはそれを見るだけで元気になりますよ。
―少年マンガというと「家族愛」よりも「仲間の絆」を大切にしているイメージがありますが、今回の映画ではそのイメージを覆し、「家族」を取り上げることに抵抗はありませんでしたか？
岸本 年を取ったんで、少しはしょうがないのかなって（笑）。でも、ちゃんと中２脳で描くことは常に意識していますよ。
―中２脳？ですか？
岸本 ジャンプ読者を意識した精神です。性に目覚める前の新鮮な脳に戻ろうと常に心がけています。
―具体的には？
岸本 当時好きだったマンガを読んだり音楽を聴いたりすると、そういう感覚が戻ってきます。僕の場合、マンガだと特に『ドラゴンボール』や『ＡＫＩＲＡ』とか。音楽だと『ドラクエ』の音楽ですね。その感覚をアシスタントに言うんですけど、あんまり伝わらないんですよ。逆に、おっさんくさいって言われるし（笑）。

Kishimoto myself, originally like family stuff works!. Is watching the works 'back to the future' and Mafia families such as those theme behind in the film well. --Was part of Kishimoto-San himself has held the family at?
Is my family certainly Kishimoto that got bigger. Without my family, I'm already つぶれちゃ I guess. His wife buy today wearing the jacket is...
