This made just made my day so while I was going on my walk some people were discussing about Naruto, and I asked what they were talking about.  They were talking about how great the ending of Naruto was with NaruHina and SasuSaku happening along with Bolt and Sarada. I basically told them "Yeah I know the ending was amazing having Sasuke admit he lost with him and Naruto lying their ground with their arms severed. It was the best ending Kishi ever did for the series." These guys were like "No you've got it kinda mixed up the ending of Naruto is where Naruto becomes Hokage marries Hinata has Bolt and Himawarri, and Sasuke marries Sakura has Sarada." and I told basically told them, "You know the mangaka said 699 and 700 were fan intrpretatations and the real ending is at 698." and they looked surprised and said, "Wait he did." and I was like "Yeah he did."  after that they didn't know what to say, and I got to say 

It was pretty amusing.

Sakura is not that popular compare to Hinata. And I don't have any problem with that. Because side character become more popular than main character is not new in manga popularity.

I have a problem when kishi decide sakura story based on popularity.

Where are you talking? Hinata is not more popular then Sakura in the Japanese polls that I've seen. It's only here in the damn west where she has much popularity from what I've seen. She's wish fulfillment.

Of course, the manga shows us that Sakura had feelings for Naruto and Naruto loved Sakura. This is such an obvious recton just to make Naruhina credible, destroy the love interest/Sakura and Naruto's feelings so Naruhina can happen. If he wanted this, he could have displayed it in the manga and make Hinata a big part of Naruto's life like Sakura was. Even in that case he shouldn't because this isn't a SHOJO. My god LOL all of this is literally last minute, how can this not qualify as a sell-out...     

 

Yeah. The harder Kishi tries to discredit NS the more confident I feel that it was the correct, logical pairing supported by evidence from the manga.

 

In this interview, Kishimoto practically confirmed what all of us already knew and that NH/SS denied so much: NaruSaku existed. They needed a retcon in a movie to "explain" how they didn't have romantic feelings for each other because the manga didn't do so. If the manga made it clear that it was all friendship like NH/SS said, such a scene wouldn't be needed. That's why Kishimoto likes it, because it tries to explain what he didn't make clear in the manga, trying to give a bit of credibility to his choice. But we all know that it was just a lame excuse to diminish NS' relevance. It did't explain why Naruto picked Sakura over all of the other Sasuke fangirls when he treated her just like them. It didn't explain why his love was so selfless if his reasons were so selfish. It made Naruto's quote "I hate people who lie to themselves" such a shot on his own feet. It was a clear retcon. Plus, there is no competition if Sasuke didn't kittening like Sakura. Against who he was fighting? Her feelings for Sasuke? Because Sasuke himself didn't give a damn. So he liked her because of his rivalry with Sasuke, but in the end, he competed with Sakura, since she was the only one not ok with it. It makes no kittening sense. I mean, if he actually did gain her heart, what would he say? "Suck it Sasuke, I won."? Won what? Did Sasuke ever wanted her in first place?

I forgot to tell you guys a funny little story that happened during christmas.

I sat next to a cousin of mine & she asked me: didn't you tell me naruto was ending? Didn't it end?

She's not a naruto fan. But whenever I watch it she watches it with me.

I told her: yeah.

Her: and what happened?

Me: ending sucked balls. Naruto & hinata ended up together.

Her: ...what?

Me: yeah. Even worse sakura & sasuke ended up together?

Her: WHAT?! ARE YOU SERIOUS? TELL ME YOU'RE JOKING. NARUTO & SAKURA DIDNT END UP TOGETHER?!

Guys, she was genuinely surprised & in shock. LOL she honestly thought naruto & Sakura were gonna end up together. Tells you a lot coming from a none naruto fan huh?

Uh... haven't you seen the japanese fans making a fuss when Kishi said that Hinata has become popular so he decided to pair her up with Naruto and that he killed Neji off for the sake of NH when Neji is more popular than her. If I remember well, they were saying that Sakura is the 6th, Neji is the 7th and Hinata, the 11th popular character. (Reliable source btw)

 

If that was the case, sakura will not in eleventh place along with sai in the latest popularity poll. And kishi will not that concern about sakura popularity.

 

Huh? 11th place was Hinata's place the last time I saw. There's a possibility of it changing after the ending and movie, but ramen (japanese member of here) said that Kakashi's, Sakura's and Sasuke's popularity increased while Naruto's decreased after it so...

That must be why The Last has taken a nose dive in a the fan ratings, and why Naruto is now known as the greatest scumbag, just because he ended up with Hinata. Because she is so overwhelmingly popular with the majority of fans.A vocal minority does not a majority fandom make. Those polls you are quoting never have more then a few thousand people voting for her. Kishimoto vastly over estimated Hinata's popularity, which is why the film is being pushed her so much. They are hoping the western base will get the a boast on the critically acclaimed side of things in the fandom.

 

Your putting to much value in a poll. Look at the results. People aren't declaring their love for Hinata and defending her outside of the west.
