• When Naruto confessed and got rejected (laugh). It seemed as though it was like, “Giving a test to Naruto”, “ Don’t push your luck”, “Hang in there, Naruto”. I like that about that scene (laugh). Later, Sakura and Naruto mutually recognise that they are not romantically interested in each other, and it’s also their parting scene, where Sakura is speaking on behalf of Hinata’s feelings to Naruto. I also like that scene.

Also, this statement corroborates what kishi in a prior interview:

 

This movie, in an extent (/in a sense), from the beginning, Naruto was always saying (how) he always liked Sakura. It’s a story about Naruto and Sakura’s parting.

 

 

So it seems that in Kishi's mind there was some sort of feelings there before The Last, and it wasn't just a rivalry thing.

JFC   This men is on Drugs  . First they loved each other romantically   , then they didn't  it was all friendship  but oh wait it was bc of rivalry   ,  it was all misleading   their selfless love is not romantic   only selfish obsessed love is true love and in the end he laughed and enjoyed NS parting away for good        .

I'm not exactly sure whether Naruto's images in this gif were in the filler episode, but Sakura screaming and shedding tears(!) was during one of those fillers in which Sakura and Naruto were sent on a mission in which they met an overweight guy who took care of some orphaned children.

Lol, I remember this NaruSaku scene from the filler in which Sakura was waking Naruto up and told him that they would go out to take a bath (you know, where everyone is are perfectly fine to be naked in front of the other ones, yadiyada). Naruto was like:"Really? Us together?!" ... Sakura punches him

Its interesting that if Sakura always loved Sasuke and Naruto's feeling were based on a rivalry that they even need a scene to recognize they dont have romantic feeling for each other.

A rejection scene is a parting scene a breakup scene between former lovers is a parting scene. People who never really loved each other dont need a parting scene.


Kishimoto really has no insight into human emotion.

They treated the most developed relationship in the story, one that actually is selfless from both sides as a rivalry. Great job there. Terrific.

I still can't believe they couldn't just end it with a normal yet sad yet go against everything yet not as foolish ending for NS. Instead, they went to the route that made no sense, made Naruto into a scumbag, terrible addressed lesson, terrible rebound, and so much more that it would be a great reasonable time to leave the movie.
