Saw it earlier during a break from work.

Actually, and I'm not the first to point this out, the interview rather proves that NaruSaku was a strong possibility. And apparently there are a couple different translations of this interview...IDK, I only looked at one. Apparently the other translation says that NH and SS happened because Sakura felt sorry for Hinata, and because Naruto wanted to let Sakura be with Sasuke?

 

Still, have to say it hurt my heart to read it.

 

I've enjoyed this manga too much to just drop it. I'm not leaving the fandom. But knowing that the ending exists makes being a Naruto fan bittersweet, that's for certain.

Makes me wanna rip my heart out right now. If he had already decided on the pairing, why the flipping kitten did he keep building NS ??
If he wanted to make the ending NH and SS from the beginning, why did he repeatedly make Naruto say he was in love with Sakura ??
Why did he make Sakura waiver from Sasuke to Naruto ??
Why didn't he just make Sasuke return her Sakura's feelings and NAruto just love Hinata, so there would never be this much heartache.

 

Kishi is a bad writer period. I'm sorry but after reading that interview, i can't even force myself to respect the franchise.

I'm not a writer, but I've heard writers talk about how characters have their own personalities and how they won't let you write them in a ways that contradict their personality or who they are. Naruto and Sakura probably had a deep friendship by the time Kishi decided to go with NH. I'm thinking suddenly having them avoid each other would have not gone well. So, he did it in a timeskip instead.

My only hope is that in the future mangaka won't use timeskips as some sort of magical catchall so they can basically introduce new characters that look like the old ones.

OMG I used this song Face down by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus for Naruto Team 7 And actually made AMV for this 4 years ago. I just kept it in my file and decide not to upload it on my YT account. Now I don't know where is it. It totally reminds me of Naruto->Sakura->Sasuke. The reality is just so sad. Sakura still on Sasuke despite he put her down many times..

Always shipping NaruSaku too. Hell, even after God knows how long, I still ship Taiora over in Digimon, since it was better established than Sorato, even if Sorato is a LITTLE more bearable than SasuSaku. X_X
