This is a pairings debate thread, after all. It's all about exchanging, explaining and debating your views with others who may or may not share your view. Simply quoting others and just saying things like "I agree" or "good post", and not adding anything more, only waters down the topic and makes it harder to find substantial posts.

So, as well as doing what Miss Soupy suggests, please can you all try to add something more to your posts? It can be anything that adds to the debate, such as questions, scene discussion, extending the point, saying how you see things, etc. Also remember, always question what you read! Just blindly agreeing doesn't make much of a debate. For instance, there may be something that a fellow NaruSakuer says that doesn't quite fit right. Questioning views helps us to root out any weaknesses in our arguments and that always makes us stronger debaters.

Of course she have reason to be mad it a normal reaction when a girl confess and the guy said that as if it wasn't a big deal. People can say that it mean nothing but, to me, it confirm that SHE WAS TELLING THE TRUTH.

I understand why Sakura got angry at Naruto. After all she has find out that he has been in love with her for so long. Then Naruto tells her that she's lying to her herself and it was weird that she came all the way from Konoha just to confess her feelings for him, obviously she will get upset at him. I'm surprise she didn't hit him for not believing her.

thats what i see and been telling people she was so hurt and shocked after he said SOMETHING LIKE THAT god she even repeated what naruto said and then explodes but if u can tell she got sidetracked and started to tell him that hes constantly putting himself in danger thats when she stopped because she was close at telling him about the decision, she was struggle proving again she is a TERRIBLE lier. but when explode about her feelings the girl was being truthful angry and hurt at the same time. she saying not to take a woman's feelings so lightly and IM THE ONLY ONE WHO KNOWS WHAT IM THINKING

honestly peolple never look beneath what this girl says and automatically puts it as a coverup

again sakrua is terrible at hiding her feelings and lieing about her feelings

Personally, I think Sakura only lied about Sasuke "meaning nothing" to her. It seems obvious that she's still stuck between her old memories of Sasuke and her present feelings for Naruto.

It's difficult to judge right now, as everything is all up in the air. On one hand, Sakura would never make a false confession to Naruto - especially in front of an audience. Why would she lead him on, only to hurt him? On the other hand, her reasoning did fall down quite badly when Naruto asked her why. You also have to wonder if Sakura had seen any other way of asking Naruto to drop the promise.

Time will tell. Right now, I think Sakura is just trying to find where she is, where her feelings lie. She's doing it all because she wants to protect her friends, especially Naruto. She once said "I can only do the smallest things for him", so she sees this as a way to try and "make amends", to try and repay Naruto for everything he's done. One thing is for sure - Sakura is definitely not using Naruto in any way.

You know, I keep wondering just how much the bench scene in Chapter 3 contributed to Sakura's feelings for Sasuke... Even without it, Sakura already had a crush and cared deeply for Sasuke, but I still wonder (and Naruto is so dead if she ever finds out ). I'm not saying Sakura would stop caring/loving Sasuke if she found out the truth, but it might help clear up her conflicted thoughts.

One thing is for sure, Sakura is already moving on from Sasuke. She still cares for him, but she knows he's changed. Maybe at the end of the reunion, we'll finally have Sakura clearly lay out her thoughts and feelings in front of Naruto!

I repeat the statement that I've said before : Kishi develop NS romance because it follow well his story line.

To answers you're question, SS doesn't follow Kishi story line mainly because Kishi wanted to make Sasuke more evil. Sasuke role in the story line is to be the new villain.
So, for now, it only S ( for Sakura) not SS.

However, I won't say that it's dead, the chance are low, but not dead yet.

It wasnt even really because he wanted Sasuke evil that he wouldnt develop SS, and always developed NS. Sasuke is a classic rival protagonist for the Main shonen character (IE Naruto). this type of one way love triangle is a fairly typical trope for most shonen series.

Sakura from the very beginning showed hints and signs that she was more than just a Sasuke fan girl. She had a hidden side to her that laughed at Narutos prank, and a determination that matched his to be acknowledged. In these ways she was shown to have a need to change and grow, and with her decision to be nicer to Naruto began to do jsut that.

her feelings for him are not based on and have never been based on guilt or any type of regret. She has always admired Naruto and his qualities. qualities she has seen from the moment they became a team to now.

that is the key difference between Naruto and Sasuke in her feelings and how they were developed. She has always known the real naruto even when she misunderstood him the Naruto she knew was real and genuine. Sasuke on the other hand was always an illusion a dream for her. She never knew the real Sasuke only the aloof, cold, and pained genius who was her teamate.

As such she has watched Naruto grow and change for the better and changed and grown for the better with him as well as because of him.

the msot telling though is that when the title for each of the confessions in this story is written. Hinatas is simply titled confession. Sakuras is entitled quite clearly. ""Sakura's Confession.""

a clear attempt to differentiate the two and to personalize Sakuras words as she strives to let Naruto know her feelings.

this is where Sakuras mistake is made. It is much in the vein of Narutos attempt to learn the Rasenshuriken. She is trying to look left and right at the same time.

she trys to protect him which by neccessity means closing him off from her. while at the same time she tries to let him know shes open to him and his feelings and why a confession by nature requires you to be open and honest. Thus Sakura is in a quandry and makes a mistake. She does not want Naruto hurt so she closes herself off and shuts him out of the decision regarding Sasuke and her feelings for him. While at the same time confessing.

this is what she has to overcome over the next few chapters. she has to open up fully about evrything. She has to stop trying to protect him from every little hurt and evry little pain. HE on the mean time needs to do the same let her take some fo the burden off his shoudlers and be there with him.

I agree with you, I also think that Sakura letting her feelings out and figuring that Sasuke was merely a simple fantasy will really help her character grow up, though I'm going to have to say that Naruto also has to do the exact same and try to move on from Part 1 Sasuke. I think Sakura is starting to, that's why she cried healing Karin possibly, knowing that the Sasuke she had a little girl crush on is no more. I think Naruto is gonna realize it to possibly next chapter, I mean he probably already has seeing Sasuke an inch from slicing Sakura; I wonder how he'll react when he discovers that he also tried to Chidori her through the head.

Forgive me Smiter, but I can't help but play a little devils advocate here. Because really, this is what we all want to know: what was Sakura's true feelings at that time? And also, can we say Sakura was not using Naruto at all in this case?

In all honesty, unless she was 100% truthful about her love for Naruto, how could she not be, in some minor way, using his feelings for her? It seems that, in order for that statement to be true, you would have to have unarguable evidence that she was indeed being truthful about loving him over Sasuke. And also, has that played out to be the case? I would say currently, no it hasn't. If she loved Naruto way over Sasuke like she claimed, she would have had the ability to kill him with knowledge that she was saving Naruto. However, we know she tried and failed to do so twice, meaning she did not have Naruto, and her feelings for him, as her complete motivation. Which means what Sai stated, about wanting to kill him herself because she loved him, to hold some truth to it.

Thus, it appears that she was not ready to confess to Naruto at the time, but did out of necessity and worry for his well-being. While her intentions were good, this scenario does show that she tried to appeal to Naruto's love for her. Unfortunately, it can be said she used him.

Of course I could have messaged. But I thought to acknowledge a good post that made me go back and take another look at the manga with a more critical eye. It's hard to invest your time, post your opinions and have no one respond. So, mea culpa. Delete away.

i have to disagree sakura proved she is not a monster like him by killing him it dose tell that much.
She was willing to be with naruto over sasuke as well as kill him for naruto to ease his pain as well as sasukes. She was not useing narutos feelings for herself its pritty easy to see she was not lieing about loveing naruto by looking at her face features.

You said she used him untrue she wanted to save him your thinking as someone who dose not belive in the confession whitch i can understand that but its not so and we have manga as cannon evidence.

Sakura being willing doesn't mean she was able to do it, does it? While it seems like the right choice intellectually, it is not what she would have wanted otherwise. I didn't even mention anything about her being a monster :/

Also, you keep going back and forth yourself over what you believe. There is no evidence that says, as a fact, that she wasn't lying; that is why there is a debate. I agreed that she wants to protect Naruto, but that doesn't mean she would not use his feelings, which was probably the case in part (especially given how desperate she was to protect him as well as kill Sasuke without him finding out).

Last, her facial features were no where near as genuine as they could have been. The majority of people reading the chapter commented that she looked insincere at parts. Just compare her face in the confession to her sincere thanks she gave Naruto when she hugged him in 450. There is a huge difference. I actually think during her confession she was much more guarded and didn't let much emotion show through. This is probably because she was trying to hide her secret agenda. When she hugged Naruto before, she wasn't afraid to allow emotion to show on her face: her relief that he was ok, her thankfulness for what he did to save the village. Those things were obvious. Her confession comes off as much harder to read, which is a clue that she wasn't being completely honest. Also, rather than showing Naruto more sincerely when he doesn't believe her, she gives him a weak excuse (autumn skies).

That being said, I by no means think Sakura would be unforgivable in this case. She was doing what she believed was the best course of action at the time.

@tricksie, don't worry too much. I made the comment because I have seen it happen a few times recently and it is sort of bothersome to have to scroll past large quotes. I don't think Smiter is saying you can't commend a good essay, but just that you should add a bit of substance to your post if you choose to acknowledge something you like. :3
