To those who watched the movie:

 

Can someone explain what the kitten happened in the genjutsu scene? It makes absolutely no sense. So it traps the intruder away and shuts them into a world of memories. THAT's how it works. Simple trap, right? A world of their OWN memories, correct? 

 

Alright, so I'm going to assume that the genjutsu is based off of their own memories and they're reliving them again (since they're the same person in that situation, only they're aware that they're in a genjutsu) . This is basically how Naruto's genjutsu goes at first:

 

• Naruto (as his young self) sitting in the classroom responding to Iruka's question
• Naruto (as his twelve year old self) about to start his fight with Kiba in the chunin exams 

 

Then we switch over to Hinata. This is basically how her genjutsu goes:

• Hinata where she thinks about Naruto who's fighting Pain

But wait!

 

The GENJUTSU is TRAPS the user IN A WORLD OF MEMORIES. Hinata is thinking about Naruto and the scarf comes out of Hinata's bag (on it's kittening own. Mind you that this is happening in the real world, not inside the genjutsu. Even so, the genjutsu's purpose is to trap the user in it's own memories, so how the hell is a mere piece of fabric going to connect people's memories in a JUTSU? ) and wrangles itself around Naruto like the tapeworm it is. 

 

Then we have Hinata offering her ointment to Naruto. At this point, this is probably where their memories are connected, which allows Naruto to see inside Hinata's memories. So we have this:

 

• Hinata offering her ointment to Naruto. Naruto flys out of scene and it switches over to Pain who grabs Naruto by the neck and throws him into the ground
• Then we have Hinata who confesses to Naruto (they added the scene where she gets bullied in the movie, btw. Talk about changing the manga ) 
• Then the scene switches to someone asking Hinata who she wants to spend her last day on earth with.

If the genjutsu is supposed to trap you and relive your memories....then how the hell is 19 year old Naruto standing there watching (no one can see him btw)? Isn't he supposed to be the young Naruto sitting with Team 7...?

 

• Next up is Naruto watching the ointment scene. 19 year old Naruto watches Hinata give Naruto the ointment. Sakura then appears out of nowhere and tells him he's dense. (Sakura didn't fall into the genjutsu I think)
• Next scene is Sakura and Hinata walking. Naruto is by the pole listening to their conversation. Sakura boosts Hinata up by telling her she can give Naruto the scarf and to be confident. (Naruto smiles at the end btw. Ugh you're not kittening obligated to return someone's feelings, what the hell!! )
• Then we get some random scenes with Hinata going "Naruto, I....". Cue in Naruto, Sakura and Ino eating ramen together. Sakura tells him "you must really love ramen" Then Hinata during her confession saying "Naruto, I....". Then cue in Naruto, Sakura and Ino eating ramen AGAIN. Ino says "You must really like." Naruto replies with "Yep, I love Hinata".  Then we have the scene were Sakura says maybe he doesn't know the difference between romantic love and love for food. Cue in Naruto who says "Huh. They're not the same?"
• Then we have the scene where Hinata runs off after the fangirls show up at Ichiraku. Sakura tells Hinata to wait up and tells Naruto he's an idiot.
• Next is Naruto (Naruto who's on the mission) chasing after Hinata who's running away. 
• Then her note that said who she wanted to spend the last day on earth with (from a different memory) falls out of nowhere and lands in Naruto's hand.
• Then we have Hinata appear out of NOWHERE under a street light. She recites her confession again.
• Sakura appears out of nowhere (I think this was her breaking the genjutsu, but still..) and tells Naruto that this is a dream

Some worthwhile notes

• Sai was in a dream with his brother

Soo... if anyone sat through this BS movie:

 

1. The genjutsu traps the intruder in a world of memories, but is it their own memories or can it be anyone's (So Shikamaru falling into Sai's memories, Sai falling into Naruto's memories etc.)?

2. How did a piece of fabric tie Naruto and Hinata's memories together in a genjutsu?

3. Why did the scarf start moving on its own? 

3. Why is Naruto shown as his 19 year old self in the memories?

4. How the hell did Hinata just pop out of nowhere? 

5. How did everything pop out of nowhere?

6. How did Sakura show up in the ointment scene if she wasn't a part of the genjutsu? 

6. At the end we see memories (on the yellow orbs) of Team 7, Minato/Kushina... why weren't we shown any of them?

 

If I misinterpreted/misunderstood something then I'm sorry, but I'm so confused about this. The only explanation we get, and I quote, is this: 

 

"Yeah. It traps intruders in a genjutsu and shuts them away in a world of memories. It's a prison of caged memories."

 

That's it! No other explanation. Everything just happens cause BANANAS   Maybe I'm just using logic so I shouldn't bother asking this, but it's worth a shot. 

I still think it's super hilarious at the fact that the kittening scarf is a life tape worm.

The Hinata bully scene is almost identical to Sakura's when she gets bullied in the manga     

 

Sakura & Hinata: Same expressions/reactions

 

Sakura: "Forehead Girl"

Hinata: "Byakugan Monster"

 

Sakura & Hinata: 3 bullies in both situations

 

Hinata (from bullies): "Your eyes are creppy" "You're actually a monster right?"

Sakura (from bullies): "You have such a big forehead" "You're trying to look cute now huh?"

 

Sakura & Hinata: Both are cry after bullies called them a name

 

Sakura: Ino tells the bullies off

Hinata: Naruto tells the bullies off

He was able too, yes, but he explained that he couldnt complete the tech because he always left himself open, the sharingan eliminated this problem because it predicted enemy movements

Hinata could be shown to be the most powerful ninja ever and people will still not have a problem with that 

The entire theme of the story was flipped on it's head for this ending.

 

What started as a story where the main character defended human dignity, natural rights of all people, and the right for people to dream big dreams that they have a right to try to achieve ended with the exact opposite ideal.

 

1. Naruto, Sasuke, and Hinata are the "chosen  ones" who had to live up to their destiny/fate. Just as Neji argued in part 1.

 

2. Because Sasuke is one of the choose people he can not be punished for his deeds. In fact he is rewarded, and in the end is shown to be above other people. Most of Akatsuki died for their evil, or worse (Hidan is an immortal living no as just a head buried under tons of rubble) well Sasuke (precious Sasuke) is not only given the girl, he has a child, an essentially is rewarded despite the fact that he is a terrorist, a murder, and a man who tried to set up a fascist dictatorship over the world with him as leader. Why? Because unlike the other evil members of Akatsuki he's a chosen one. It's not his destiny to be punished.

 

3. People don't fight to reach their goals, they are rewarded for following their destiny. Naruto pushes two other solid leaders aside so he can become Hokage, because he is destined to becoming Hokage. Despite the fact that essentially at this point there is no reason for the Village to still be under the rule of a military dictatorship. Hinata get's Naruto's kitten because she deserves it, and as the movie shows, was destined to because she came from the right family and had great power in her from the beginning that was destined to be hers. Then there is poor Sakura, who is the image of the modern battered housewife, who is unable to ever change her mind on who her mate should be because she once as a kid said she had a crush on a man who eventually tried killing her multiple times, and mentally tortured her. Not only that but she forgives him after he simply says "...yeah...sorry." and automatically tries to get in his pants. Why? Because she is destined to she doesn't have a choice in the matter anymore after she made her first choice.

 

So in the end we have a world that is created by fate. The man person who got punished in the end... was Neji the heretic who defied fate after taking up Naruto part 1's ideals of individual self worth and free will. Despite the fact the Neji was originally the one who was aligned with the ideals of fatalism. Why? Because he must dies so Hinata gets a chance to have a connection with Naruto.

 

Kishimoto is a hack. He is a horrible creator, and just a bad writer.

@konan - seeing that scarf wrap around naruto on its own was pretty creepy, it was like the scarf had a mind of its own. i loled when he was carrying hinata bridal style and used his rasengen to propel himself into the air, and then they just float there gazing in each others eyes. that scene felt like it came directly from fanfic.
