If and when we get a timeskip that's when it'll probably be better to do a proper comparison between the two.
I mean as far as the main female character goes?
I'll have to give it to Noelle. Especially with what she's been able to so far since with Sakura well we all know what that was.

Sakura had no real abilities till after the time skip.
Noelle has immense power but no control over it.

Noelle because I don't have to force myself to defend.
True
Noelle can't be compared with Sakura. They don't even have the similar character traits. Even their circumstances are completely different. Noelle was the black sheep in her noble family while Sakura was just an ordinary girl.

True, but the only thing these two really share is their statuses as the main female character.Which is kind of ironic, seeing how it could be seen similar.

For the time being I'll probably have to agree since the series is still somewhat new even though it's already been a couple years old at this point.

I second Noelle. I like Asta well enough as a protagonist and character, but I want to see how he grows before I make direct comparisons between him and Naruto.
Light and Shadow are the only static creations of this universe.

That's what I'm gonna do I know a lot of people have bringing it up especially now since it's like +120 chapters.I second Noelle. I like Asta well enough as a protagonist and character, but I want to see how he grows before I make direct comparisons between him and Naruto.
Though here is something I've really been thinking about. We've had a Diamond Kingdom and a Clover Kingdom.. so what do you guys think of the possibilities of there being a Hearts Kingdom and a Spades Kingdom?

Shame that Sakura had bigger opportunity to be a lot better in compare with their status at start.True, but the only thing these two really share is their statuses as the main female character.

You know I got ask who is the better protagonist between Naruto and Asta?
They are pretty similar so I can't say. Both are annoying, loud and bratty, so there is little distinction between
But between Noelle and Sakura I'd say Noelle as She has had much more character development and focus on her character than Sakura BY FAR when Naruto had as many chapters as Black Clover does now. That is when Naruto had around 120 chapters Sakura's prominence and character development wasn't as pronounced

If you're calling those generalizations and FALSE back it up other wise don't say anything
Oh God, please don't encourage her.

I've been putting Black Clover on hold for a bit right now, but even so I think I've read enough chapters to comment on the comparison b/w Naruto and Asta. If there is something I'm missing b/c I haven't read the last 25 chapters or so, please tell me.
To me, Naruto pre-time skip is a better-written character than Asta b/c of two things:
1) The circumstances he grew up caused me to sympathize with him more. Naruto grew up without parents (which admittedly doesn't make sense), was shunned by the village, and bore the 9-tailed fox in him. When I was younger, I remember how much I was rooting for Naruto to reach his goal to prove everyone wrong.
2) Naruto's character was just showing a wider range of emotions and more depth in the way he perceived things. Yes, both are bratty and loud, but I hate it when characters relapse quickly after a certain defeat or struggle. It makes it hard for me to take Asta seriously. There are countless moments with Naruto though where we see him despair, give up hope, actually being legit angry etc.
I agree about Noelle though. Pre-time skip Sakura was too fixated on Sasuke for me.

It wouldn't hurt Sakura so much if Sasuke would just go with it in a comedy routine, instead of "heavy drama"

It's certainly not the worst manga of 2016, I'll say that much. Seriously, it's decent. It's start getting more on a better side of things.

It depends on how many shounen you read. If you read many, this one will look pretty average to you, which is neither good nor bad...
EDIT: But the art is really nice. And I wouldn't worry about ships too much.

Very true But as I said that does not make much difference between them, we just see Naruto's more sympathetic side because we actually delve into his backstory plus see his sadness at being alone and shunned to outright hated. Asta grows up in similar circumstances as in he's an orphan, has a handicap that prevents him from achieving his dream, and IS discriminated against, but at least grew up loved by the the residents of the church. I think the main reason that we don't see a huge range of emotions from Asta yet is that he's not been pushed over the brink yet. Like, He becomes very angry on Noelle's behalf when she's being trashed talked by her own family ( which is a typical Shounen hero Berserk button), but I don't think think he's seen someone he loves actually seem like they've been killed, or has been hit with a question that he can't answer so simple mindedly. I think that the only difference between Naruto and Asta is that we have seen Naruto's circumstances and tragic back story that make him so sympathetic but have yet to see that with Asta.
Is this manga any good?
It depends. Do you like the stereotypical shounen hero achieving an impossible dream? I'd sum up it's simplest premise a s a mix betwen Naruto and Fairy Tail, but it become more unique from them as time goes on. As stated before, it WAS called the worst manga of 2016, but only because critics are calling it an "overused cliche shounen" premise. It actually does very well with Shonen jump readers in both Japan and the west, but again it's only if you enjoy typical Shounen manga/ anime (which I do, especially since it's underdog story with a good romantic subplot *cough cough*)
