Well, he learned more then one of Chunwoo's moves.
Authors from the beggining told that there will be 3 parts of the story, long before part 1 was finished.

The messages just taught him the techniques. Later in part two, it's revealed that Chunwoo went against tradition and tried to turn him into a master. At some portion of the training, Chunwoo widened Shioon's Meridians (meridians are basically blood vessels for Ki, like the chakra network in Naruto), allowing him to handle more Ki and learn techniques that require more. He basically started his training with teaching hi the nuances of the Black Origin.What special training that chunwo give to shiwon?

Chunwoo was always hyped as strong as kitten, I don't think he's one of those over 9000 people.
