I write fanfiction...mainly to answer questions I have about the series like "What if this happened?"
And to a certain extent, I write because it's like a temporary escape.
You get to create your own "dream world" in the Naruto (or whatever anime/manga/tv show/etc.,) verse and just have fun with it for a little while.

Ah, so many reasons why I write.
There are images and emotions in my mind that overwhelm me and compel me to pour it out in word. I love seeing words as they are crafted on screen--it gives a sense of poetic grace that is similar to painting a looping line on an empty canvass or playing floating arpeggios on the piano.
I also write because the ideas originally put forth in Naruto are powerful and I want to expand on them as much as I can. I would like to write something that is just as plausible as the actual storyline, and I'm not sure if I've reached that goal.
Writing fanfiction is a challenge I enjoy more than writing original fiction. For me, it comes down to, "Can you predict what will happen in this series?" "Do you understand the author's intentions behind creating this memorable characters?" "Do you understand where do these characters come from and how do they react?" "What do these characters have to go through to reach the point of enlightenment the author wants them to reach?" To stay to what has Kishimoto originally envisioned in his story is the greatest challenge you can come across in Naruto fanfiction, and I plan to always try and meet the challenge, even if my mastery of words and imagery isn't up to par with most amateur writers. I want to at least pass the message across.
Of course, I do little drabble/fanfic challenges on the way that veer off that track, but they don't last more than one chapter.
Hm. That's all I can say about why I write for now. ^^;

I write not only because it helps me with preparing for my future (high school, college, medical school, anesthesiology residency, then becoming an anesthesiologist. I'm ambitious for a 13 year old!
XD) but because I like to. When I think, I usually think about: IchiRuki and my fanfiction. I like thinking: "What if this had happened?" and I pretend it does. I think about the theme song, how popular my OC's would be if they were real characters, those reviews I'm going to get, et cetera. It just gives me something to do that I enjoy. I get all these ideas in my head. (recent one: Rukia makes Ichigo go to ChappyCon; they're cosplaying as Chappy and Yuki; Ichigo is not too happy, to say the least.) I've actually never written a fanfiction that has been open to public, but I shall soon. The only stories I've released to the public were for school though. XD

I write to prove myself that I can wield the pen. I like writing. I like making universes that transport people to far away lands.
That's why I take personalities of many people I know into characters. It's sort of a tribute with a flick of my creativity and amusement.
Even though my fanfics aren't known or praised by the choice of topic or the way I write them, I have fun with it.
Fun is the key element when writing. Also to express your point of view. But expressing my view to the people , is fun to me. Why not do it though fanfics? With short tales of made-tailor heroes of yourself?
I have a huge imagination and I love it. Imagination makes heroes be born and makes other tales. Now after writing this post , I feel like writing.

Why do I write?
Writing is a skill that is in my possesion. What is a talent if you don't begin to acknowledge it, and begin to comprehend that pure passion that you get from writing some you consider great. To be honest, I never thought I would have this flare for the language art. I would always recieved bad grades in writing at school, and curse how stupid writing is, never fully giving writing the chance it needed to blossom within me.
There's no complex psychological answer to that question. The pen is my sword, and the paper is my shield, that's all.

Why? Probably because I like to write the words the characters can't or never will say. Writing is my passion. When I write it doesn't matter who I am all that matters is the words I put on the web page. Writing is something amazing, it's a form of art. Words can spin together and create this magical world of happiness and fantasy, which I love to be a part of.

Well I usually write my own stuff and plots for things I just do for my friends and I'm pretty imaginative so I like expressing my ideas in a story.
As for my first naruto fic, it was a fantasy I've always had and I wanted to share it with other people. ^__^
