What is up with people keep commenting on Naruto's look from this chapter?

Because some people think he's ugly. He doesn't look bright and happy anymore and he doesn't look at all like his father.

Being absolutely unattractive is just one of the issues with Naruto's current appearance. There's nothing heroic and admirable about him in my eyes. I can't for the life of me imagine how I'd respect that kind of Hokage tbh.

So...all the new technology in the Naruto Gaiden universe, and the villain whips out a chained star? Nothing new in the way of weapons? Just phones and computers and skyscrapers?

And of course the girls get saved. This is Naruto. No girls can stand on their own. Even the child of Sasuke and Sakura.

Still, glad the manga is still focused on Sarada and not the NH dynamic. Keep waiting for the other shoe to drop and the whole thing to suddenly revolve around Hinata.

 

I know how you feel. @_@ Especially too how things were like Naruto just brushing off Boruto on purpose it seemed like!

I can't fathom what people find appealing about this chapter based on the summaries I've read. Do people just say it's great now because they're afraid to admit Kishi's terrible?

This chapter was was kitten, although the first chapter was still the worst one in my eyes. Hinata's pic with her bob haircut though lowered my rating from a " -1/10" to a " -100/10".

I find it really hilarious how people are already shipping Boruto and Sarada (main girl x main guy...sound familiar?) as if there was romantic attraction between them (not yet, anyways), but when it came to Naruto and Sakura at the beginning/throughout the manga (where there was clear romantic feelings as well as an obviously set up love triangle), it was reduced to just "friendship" or "sibling feelings". Stupid fans are stupid as well as self-insert hypocrites. 

 

Anyways, for anyone who doesn't want to lay their eyes on the travesty known as Naruto Gaiden, here's a summary of what happened this chapter: 

 

Ch. 3 Overview

The chapter opens up with Naruto and Shikamaru at the gates of the village. Naruto tells Shikamaru to apologize to Bolt for him. Shikamaru is confused at his words and Naruto starts to depart. Naruto notes how he has to hurry as he has a "bad feeling" and takes off.

 

Focus switches to Chouchou and Sarada who are standing behind a tree near the gates. Chouchou notices Naruto and tells Sarada that he might be headed the same way. Sarada observes Naruto. As Naruto takes off into full-speed run, Sarada pulls Chouchou and yells at her to hurry up so they can go follow him. Chouchou states her that she wanted to take in the sights and eat some local food first. Due to Sarada pulling Chouchou, both fall to the ground.  Sarada apologizes frantically and asks if she's okay. Chouchou then says to Sarada that they're going to find her parents, and so asks her what she's getting worked up/mad about. Sarada notices Boruto and Mitsuki approaching.

 

Focus switches to Boruto and Mitsuki who show up at the gate. Boruto talks to Shikamaru who tells him he's too late and missed Naruto. Boruto sighs and Shikamaru asks what he has in his hand. Boruto replies that he brought lunch and Shikamaru realizes what Naruto meant by "say sorry to Boruto". Boruto gives Shikamaru a sour face. He then leaves and tells Mitsuki to follow. Mitsuki replies that maybe they might be able to catch up to him to give him the Bento. Sarada and Chouchou appear from the tree they were hiding behind and run toward Boruto, exclaiming that she could give Naruto the lunch. Boruto and Chouchou are confused.

 

Focus switches to Boruto and Sarada. Sarada says to Boruto that she could give Naruto the lunch since her and Chouchou are going on a trip. Sarada exclaims that it's a good idea to Chouchou since she wanted to go slow anyways during the trip. Chouchou says that she doesn't mind and asks if there's enough in there for her. Boruto then tells Sarada that it's fine and that he's just going to bring it back to his mom and tell her that Naruto didn't get it, despite the fact that Naruto was aware that Hinata was sending Boruto over to him with lunch. Boruto is annoyed at Naruto. Sarada observes and puts her hand on Boruto's shoulder.

 

Boruto asks what she's doing and Sarada insists that she'll take the lunch over to Naruto. Boruto again says that it's fine. Sarada and Boruto stare at each other. Chouchou breaks the tension and says that she could eat the lunch if he doesn't want it. Mitsuki grabs her and pulls her out of the situation. Chouchou asks if he's going to confess his love to her and her sighs saying that her symptoms are getting worse.

 

Boruto then tells Sarada that this is none of her business and Sarada replies that "if there is someone waiting for you... If I could, I'd definitely do it personally". Boruto looks at her confused and Shikamaru just observes. Sarada also notes how a bento is not just for eating, but is a meal prepared for you especially by a loved one. Boruto reflects on that and thinks of Hinata. Shikamaru watches Boruto and observes. Boruto then ask her what's her problem and Shikamaru then tells him to hand the lunch over to Naruto who is at the ridges. Boruto, annoyed, hands the lunch over to Sarada. Sarada says that she'll make sure Naruto gets the lunch.

 

Focus then switches back to Sarada and Chouchou. Taking the lunch, Sarada takes off and tells Chouchou to follow. Chouchou complains to Sarada saying that Mitsuki was interested in her. Sarada and Chouchou officially take off from the village. Boruto watches as Sarada leaves.

 

A weird penguin-like spy thing with the sharingan emerges from the woods as it watches Sarada and Chouchou depart. Mystery-Uchiha is aware that Sarada is on the move. A hooded man tells mystery-Uchiha to stop with the spying and begin the plan. The hooded man tells mystery-Uchiha to bring Sasuke's daughter, "the one with the glasses and the one who bears the uchiha family crest". 

 

Focus then switches back to Sarada and Chouchou. Chouchou tells Sarada to be careful with the lunch as she's running too fast. Sarada replies telling her that they have to hurry or they won't catch up with him.

 

Focus swtiches to Naruto who's running along a path. Naruto has his sage-mode activated. He notes how Sarada and Chouchou are following him and that it was weird that they were hiding behind the gates too. Naruto stops running and says that it's better if he goes to them instead of waiting.

 

Focus then switches back to Chouchou and Sarada. Chouchou exclaims that she's too tired and can't run anymore. Sarada suggests that she can roll instead of run. Chouchou shouts that the idea is perfect. Sarada then notices something rustling near them. Mystery-Uchiha reveals himself to the girls and Sarada notices his eyes. Chou-chou asks who he is and asks if it's somebody she knows. Mystery-Uchiha demands that Sarada must come with him. Sarada asks who he is.

 

Mystery-Uchiha reveals himself as Shin Uchiha. Sarada is surprised at the name Uchiha as well as confused as she says that her mom told her that Sasuke was the only Uchiha left. Shin then tells Sarada to come with him once more. Sarada asks what would happen if she refused. Shin then tells Sarada that she must come with him yet again as his father told him to take her to him. Sarada puts down the lunch she took from Boruto.

 

Shin pulls out a chained star from a scroll stating that he will make Sarada come with him. Chouchou, shocked, asks what he's going to do with them. Shin then attacks Sarada using the chained star. Sarada dodges and deflects the chain by stepping on it, stopping its movement. Sarada yells for Chouchou to attack while she holds the chain. Chouchou appears behind him and uses her partial multi-size technique to hit him. Dodging her attack, Shin jumps into the air and maneuvers the chained star again. He uses force to loosen Sarada's grip on it and graze Chouchou who falls to the floor. Shin targets Chouchou and attacks her using the chained star. Sarada yells for Chouchou who's about to get killed.

 

Shin attacks and Sarada, unharmed, is shocked and looks to the side. Naruto appears, stating that a fight like this is too much for kids. Saving both of them, Naruto states that the kids of his village are all good children. Shin glares at Naruto. Naruto takes note of his sharingan and greets him by saying "Oh...so its you". 

 

*barfs*

 

Gosh where do I start? I...I really can't. This is beyond horrible. MESS doesn't even begin to describe it!

I don't think Sarada has a crush on Bolt yet. They just seem like close friends right now. Honestly I see potential between them but we all know Bolt x Salad is just a way to tie up NH and SS.

Hmmm, I'm not so sure but to each their own. I could care less really. It's just why voluntarily blow her cover if she was intending to tail the Hokage to Sasuke in the first place?

 

 

Best part was when Naruto runs from Boruto's bento box and Boruto thinking of Hinata. Even with kids and married Naruto still wants no part of Hinata. No one is safe at this point, not even NH

it's not hypocritical if you think of it as "main girl x side guy" lol. bolt has taken no active role in the story so far. he just shows up, pouts, and leaves. at least salad is taking action. i have a feeling it might because bolt is getting his own movie and so they're keeping him in the background and focusing on salad so that they'll be equals by that time.

 

that said i kno what you mean. it doesn't seem like bolt and salad kno each other that well tho.

 

as for the fight, honestly i thought it was okay. yes the girls had to be saved but it cannot be forgotten that they are FRESHLY GRADUATED students from the academy and naruto's a hokage. i like how they actually put up a fight as well (remember how naruto reacted when he fought his first ninja battle? he froze up like a kitten. these girls were right ON that action).

 

that said, it raises way more questions about the state of the world. salad and chocho reacted too quick to the threat, like they're experienced or something. if there is supposed to be peace then WHY are salad and chocho so ready fight and so calm and cool with the fact that they have to. there's no surprise, no questions asked, no nothing. if it weren't for what we've been told, i would think they academy students are being prepared for another war or conflict or something.

 

also, thinking about it, i guess it would've been cooler of naruto to wait in the shadows and see how the girls handle the fight and only stepping out when the situation gets dire. i mean i still see no offense in him saving them. but it would've shown the girls off more if kishimoto had done that.

But you wanna know what annoys me the most: How damn UGLY Naruto is!

 

I can't even recognize him. His clothes are horrible too... even the cloak is not 'that' great. Minato's one was a lot better...

Tbh, I ever said that to myself when Shishui jumped from cliff, "Then what if he's alive again in the next chapters? It's Kishi"
