Well I'm effectively conflicted now... On the one hand I think Naruto had a good run up to 698 having lasted 15 years, on the other hand I cannot forgive a writer for destroying his own thoughts, messages, and characters in only 2 chapters

It's difficult to have any sympathy for the man when he destroyed what most of us believe to be one of the closest and most sincere bonds in the series. That is a major focal point of this manga, correct? Learning how to cherish the people in your life? To love, to feel, and to care? Well I don't see any of that with this conclusion. It's just empty, meaningless words with an equally hallow and unfounded relationship that fails to inspire any positive emotions within us. I didn't see the attraction of NH and especially not SS back when this chapter was initially released and today that confusion remains.
We may never know the specifics as to why Kishi felt this was a proper ending. But the enjoyment and curiosity that I once had for the series has been marred with this abandonment of the very ideals that Naruto once stood for.

Not good at romance? I don't buy that. I thought Minato and Kushina's was beautiful. And I don't see how he didn't realize what he was doing with Naruto and Sakura. He put some pretty blatant stuff in there hinting at that--sorry, I don't buy it.

Me neither. I am not that good at romance and I made NS canon in my story. It may be rushed but it's better than the last 7 chapters. I made my Sakura smarter about her feelings than Kishi did in his last 7 chapters.Not good at romance? I don't buy that. I thought Minato and Kushina's was beautiful. To me this sounds like he was tired of writing Naruto and someone offered to continue the series, the series will probably not do very well cuz as far as I am concerned Naruto and Sasuke both died after the battle of 699 and the series should be titled

Why do people NOT ship these two? I just don't get it.
Probably cause they hate Sakura. When she's probably the most developed female character in the whole show.
I respect Hinata, but Sakura deserves some too.

Honestly.....it's been a few days and I'm laughing. I can't even take this seriously. With all that build up and it was soo anti climactic.
Come on whose with me.
He admited it himself that he can't write romance for squat. I'm just laughing and shaking my head. It was a children's battle manga after all. It's funny with all that and he basically ended it with ooc for both in 2 panels.
I'm gonna stick with my personal fanfic cannon. And the true story. Wait for some nice doujin.
It's so stupid. Like really after all that. You end it in such an stupid way. Can't even take it seriously at all.

I actually feel much better now. Whose with me. Just the absurdity of it all makes me laugh.
Let's go fan art, fan fic, our own community, and some good alternate endings done by artists around the world.

If he is so bad at using romance he shouldn't even put it in first place, or at least put it but not make romance one of the main aspects of a main character (sakura)
