Wolf's Rain.
And I'm not just saying that because I love wolves, this is from a completely different perspective.
That entire PLOT.
That show, that ending, hands down the saddest freakin' anime I've ever watched that actually stayed with me mentally. I've rewatched the series about 5 times and I'm able to still cry while watching it. And I've watched a lot of sad kitten in animes.
