Madara was the previous reincarnation Sasuke is the current one.

 

That's plausible, but there's a gap in the theory. I mean, if both are Indra's reincarnation, then wouldn't Madara's revival have somehow killed Sasuke?

As far as I'm concerned two people can't share the same soul (e.g. in Inuyasha's first episodes, when witch Urasue "steals" Kagome's soul (Kikyou's reincarnation) to revive the later)). 

 

But it's Kishi we are talking about! Kishimoto no Jutsu is a common occurence in the plot

If Sasuke is supposed to be Indra, then I wonder what will be the result of Naruto vs Sasuke! Is history likely to repeat itself?

Look like that this week starts with a great surprise. A chinese spoiler released the first page of each manga in the WSJ. And Naruto was included into them too.

 

It's pretty clear who's Indra's reincarnation now...

 

Is it Ten-Ten? It is probably Ten-Ten. I always knew she was suspicious. It's always the quiet ones.

I don't think it's quite the same, it's like Orichimaru his soul was sealed away by Itachi yet he still left bits of his soul inside all the individuals he took a bite out of, and he seems to be as powerful as ever, so it's possible that the soul of Madara created an identity of it's own even after the soul of Indra moved on,  like Madara, I also beleive Hashirama was the previous host of Ashura's soul.

 

If Hashirama and Madara were not the previous hosts then the question is, who did they decide to be reincarnated as before Naruto and Sasuke? there is a gap of a hundred years and the main two candidates are those two, there is a possability that Yahiko might have been a host after Hashirama but there really is no other, Minato, Negato, Itachi and Jiraiya were all alive when Sasuke and Naruto were born so it can't be them. The Sage clearly said they were constantly being reborn.

 

One more thing if Madara is the current reincarnation of Indra, then why did Ashura wait a 100 years or so to be reborn (and even then AFTER his older brother died), instead of being reborn a few months after his older brother was reborn. (Sasuke is born in July, Naruto was born three months later.) he'd be leaving his older brother decades to cause havok...It's probably also why the two get compared to the Madara and Hashirama, they were the previous hosts.

I think it's totally gratuitous. There is no need for any of it and as I said last week it does great violence to the idea that Naruto is a "loser" in terms of ability.

I really don't understand tracking the lineage this far back. It adds no meaningful value. It's kinda of just there...

It's like Kishimoto thinks we just didn't see it before so we need a couple of more baseball bats the head to make sure we get how awesomely important Naruto v. Sasuke is.

I don't think this makes Naruto a "loser" so much as a "He had to work harder, but achieved so much more." I think this is a great comparison that Naruto had to work for what he got and just wasn't handed to him like all of the Uchiha powers were.

So excited to see the chapter!!! And I'm pretty sure Indra is reincarnated into Sasuke. I mean it could have been Madara and Hashi first... but both of them died. So the next reincarnation is Sasuke and Naruto right?

The other part i didnt understood is that Naruto was compared to Ashura because he relied on his friends and cooperation to win and got stronger but well he passed the entire manga trying to handle everything by himself, Sasuke, Akatsuki, Pain and even a big part of the war arc.
He even got letured by Itachi, Kurama and other people.

Naruto is the HERO .... Kishimoto is following the standard HERO CYCLE it is all pretty basic stuff just with a lot of Japanese cultural references

If the spoiler is real, then my interpretation...?

 

Sasuke is the reincarnation of Indra.  Simple.

 

Madara experienced physical death, so if he had been the reincarnation of Indra the soul/spirit/energy/chakra of Indra would (theoretically) have moved on at that point.  

 

Now that he has been revived, I would expect Madara is soulless.  And that would explain a lot.

No to 1, highly unlikely to 2 and most likely three. One would mean both would just be reborn and the cycle would start once again, 2 would also likely lead to Sasuke being reborn and continuing the cycle of hatred, unless he dies as a self sacrifice and understands the importance of others..thus finding inner peace. Three is the most likely scenario, both finding inner peace and settling their difference....ofcourse we have scenario 4 where Naruto dies and passes on his will of fire to Sasuke who continues Naruto's dream and realises the importance of others and love and finally die of old age.

 

The final result has to be the older brother has to concede to the younger brothers way of thinking or vice versa, Death is no longer a factor, they'll be reborn as many times as they need to until both brothers reach a resolution and decide to move on from this plane.

 

I don't think Naruto and Sasuke being reincarnations of the original brothers is that big of a deal, it just gives their conflict a grander stage, and maybe also goes to explain why Naruto is so hell bent on saving Sasuke, the premise is still the same, to save Sasuke from himself, even if he wasn't the reincarnation of Ashura that would not chance. Atleast this way Naruto is no longer an outsider that got involved in the age old battle between the Senju and Uchiha because no Senju apart from Tsunade were remaining. Now he's the reincarnation of one of the original starter of the fued...if like me you have been pissed that even though it is called 'Naruto' the main conflict is between Uchiha and Senju and Naruto really shouldn't be involved in it, this revelation give him purpose to be involved and means he should be involed in it.

As if that hasn't been beaten to death. It's a regurgitation of the same stuff that's been gone over several times before. I'd understand if it added something new to the conflict, but it doesn't. It's mostly answering questions that up until now, weren't being asked and whose answer doesn't do anything meaningful for the plot.

Then why say that? I think it means exactly what it sounds like, but Naruto's ability so vastly exceeds almost everyone else's (and has a lineage as long as Sasuke's) that he has to come up with SOMETHING to justify description he has attached to Naruto.
