Seriously they really are blind if they think sakura isn't the most popular female character in naruto and has a huge fanbase in japan, kishimoto-sensie's main fanbase. Honsetly, they aren't true naruto fans because they're practically bashing the main heroine of the series who has had AMAZING and deep emotional development, both romace-wise , character-wise and-power wise, and the love interest, Haruno sakura, of the main hero, Uzumaki Naruto. That alone is an insult to kishimoto-sensie's work. Not to mention they rub off the japanese culture, which is important to know if you wanna 100% understand the details of the manga.

Is that what people say koikitteneru is used for? Hahaha I have never used it myself ^^ maybe I have never been that deeply in love.

Who said Hinata does not have romantic feelings for Naruto? That is part of her character.

I think Hinata's purpose is to reflect Naruto's ninjaway and his power to change people. Make it more visible, she is the symbol of that.

I wish it could be how one can be a tiny, submissive and shy girl who leans onto a guy for confidence boost, then grows up and become a strong leader.

All this talk about the different types of love gets me thinking. Can you imagine if Sakura ended up saying aikitteneru to Naruto? I think half the fandom would have automatic heart attacks.

Kushina is the only one to have brought it up in the entire series and Sakura is her parallel, so I think it would be very fitting.

After they resolve their issues something like this could occur:

Sakura: You were right you know, saying that I like (suki) you, those weren't my true feelings.

Naruto: Eh? (Naruto gets a hurt face)

Sakura: The truth is, Naruto, that I love (aikitteneru) you.

I find it weird that a 16 years old girl will use the term "aikitteneru" even to her boyfriend.

The term is so strong that even in Japanese romance drama or novels the term is rarely used with the exception of marriage proposals, and near-death situations.

I could understand if Sakura used the term to her husband or her child, but using it to her (more or less) boyfriend is a bit too much.

I think Kishi is saving the "aikitteneru" for a reason. :hehehe:

I think Hinata said "daisuki", but I'm not sure. Sakura said "suki".

There has to be another confession, an epilogue is not enough because this time they'll get it right. :3

ramenanitsu; Thanks, I'm so glad we have a Japanese guy here! :3 But..I think Naruto will be close to death after the war anyway. :fu:

Well even if the situation like the one in OVA happens, "aikitteneru" is too much.

It might occur if they were a couple for 5 years and suddenly either of them is in a near-death situation. But no 16 years old would use that term. And I prefer Sakura to hug him and cry happily that he's alive instead of uttering that term.

I guess if you see it that way it means it isn't something common in Japan and like you a hug and her crying that he is alive would still be good ass well, after all she can always use that term in an epilogue when the already married and with there kid, so that fine with me.

well you're right here. Anyway the marriage between Kushina and Minato was been really short (sadly for clear reasons) and, still, that didn't prevent Kushina from saying that word.... Maybe Kushina's love for Minato was really and greatly strong.... :umm:

Even for adults saying "aikitteneru" is pretty strong. but in things like movies, animes, etc, it is used more liberally ^^

That's what I'm betting on, but I won't make myself have expectations for it. As long as we get a happily emotional Sakura I'll be thoroughly satisfied.

I just think it would be fitting considering that Sakura is Kushina's parallel and Kushina's the only one to have said aikitteneru in the story so far, I think.

Japan, why you so shy? Spread the love baby, spread that love!

Im g9nna have to disagree with you on the part regarding romantic feelings.

Hinata was never portrayed to be in love with naruto romantically, when did she ever think of naruto ROMANTICALLY, none.

The only thing she ever thinks of naruto is how he's strong and she looks up to him and wants to stay by his side on terms of working hard just like him, even though its just one step, his nindo, wwoworrying about hin for the dumbest reasons (true story) even though she really doesnt care about his personal safety, not to mention shes selfish and confirmed by her. But no matter cuz we all know which love story kishi is focusing on.

Hinatas love for naruto is admiration, even in the databook it was written on her page. Even in thr kizuna book hinata wasn't in the love category. Its just so obvious and kishi just made it even more obvious in chp 633, the he concluded hinata in :fu:

Btw, so we can conclude that we're not fooling ourselves with our translations eh?

And it would be great if we can actually have the link to the unbiased raw one.

I would really love it if Sakura said "aikitteneru" to Naruto (or vice-versa, and then the other says it back). I know it's such a strong word that it's rarely used, but to me that would be showing how much they love each other, and how strong their love is. ^^ ramenanmitsu said that it can be used in near-death situations, so maybe Naruto is dying and Sakura says it to him (and maybe that brings him back from the brink of death? haha) or Sakura saves Naruto from a fatal blow by taking the strike herself, and says "aikitteneru" as her dying words. Is that too much to hope for in a shounen manga? Lol. Or perhaps, when Naruto FINALLY confesses to Sakura he'll use it... And the feeling will be mutual.
Of course, I doubt that we'll see either one of them say it in the current time frame, but I can dream~

I know that Kushina said that she says "I love you" (aikitteneru) only to men who compliment her hair (implying she said it to Minato), but did we get a scene where we saw her directly say it to him? I don't remember. :sweatdrop:

Also, about Kushina being the only person to use aikitteneru - Itachi also said it to Sasuke right before disappearing because of the Edo Tensei's release.
