To be honest, I expected more from Sasuke. Seems like he's not that surprised/excited to see his nii-san. I predicted more drama, haha.
The whole Sasuke-Itachi chit-chat wasn't really interesting too. Tell us the truth about the Uchihas!
And yes, I agree with @tricksie about the name of the manga. I knew that Sasuke was Kishi's fav character to draw, now he's slowly turning into the protagonist. I get this feeling like Naruto exists just because of Sasuke.

Am I the only one who sees a Tsunade || Sakura parallel? About her being weak woman, bad medic, etc? All those Sakura's bashers fav 'arguments'? I hope Tsunade kicks that Madara's ass. I have faith in her. I believe she can beat the crap out of him!!!

it wasn't bad... --Click here to view--
*sigh* I just found the itachi sasuke talk kind of lacking- this might be because of the translation- (but there wasn't really anything new brought up that the readers didn't already know- its expected they'd talk about these things but echg)

anyways, anyone else get the feeling that the two uchiha's are going to double team kabuto? ( cause I don't think Sasuke is going to suddenly stop chasing Itachi now) or actually, wait,.... beating Kabuto would make Itachi disappear
OoOo! does that mean if the two encounter kabuto- Sasuke would actually side with Kabuto? (just so he could keep Itachi 'alive' longer?) - ahhh maybe i'm getting ahead of myself.

As for mandara's speech-augh- he fits the-arrogant-long-winded-antagonist steryotype like a glove- and now this crap implying that because Tsunada is a woman, it makes her weak? I want to see her b*tch slap this man right now >:[.

Pretty good chapter, but as redkunai pointed out, the conversations between Itachi and Sasuke pretty much brought stuff up we already knew, and nothing new. I'd tend to think this chapter was more of a highlight reel between Itachi and Sasuke, and reminded everyone as to why Sasuke has walked his path. The only new thing is Madara talking down at Tsunade, and telling her she isn't worthy of the Senju bloodline? I hope Tsunade shows that a**hole what she's made of! rawr.gif

I honestly, that's kishimoto's fault. I understand that he wants to show madara as a jerk but in this case, because of kishimoto's lack of foresight, madara is right. Kishimoto's made tsunade too weak when he created her. That's it. Now I actually want tsunade to get her arse handed to her because I don't want kishimoto's to contradict himself.

Yeah, I've always doubted the Madara/Itachi story. I think there's more to Itachi saving him than just brotherly love. And I think both Madara and Itachi know more about the history of the Uchiha than they let on. But lol, sometimes I think Itachi just wanted to tortue him too! After all, he earned his place in Akatsuki on his own merit. So he's pretty much a psychopath in his own right!

The child of prophesy maybe? The tablets left behind by the Sage might have contained information on the child of prophesy who would one day either save or destroy the world, (Maybe contained information about him being able to tame the Bijuu as well,) it was strongly hinted that the Sage knew of such a person from his flashback scene with the chibi-bijuu, and naturally with the Senju clan all but exstinct and with the Uchiha elimitated, same with the Uzumaki, they must have believed Sasuke to be the child the prophesy spoke of (They did't know about the second prophesy made by the Toad Sage and with the Uchiha pride would assume it would be one of their decendents, specially as they know the Sharingan is capable of controlling the bijuu.). It is probably why the Uzumaki clan was destroyed as well, it wasn't mentioned but I got the feeling that it was Madara under the guise of the third Mizukage and using the Great Ninja war as an excuse to have the last known decendents destroyed.

omg, is it some sort of hereditary trait for Uchihas to think they they are the hottest s**t in the history of existence? It's like they never heard the word "humble" before (except for Itachi; he's okay). Madara seemed kinda cool before, but now he's just a major a**hole. Knock his block off, Tsunade.

And people shouting "Sexist! Kishi's a sexist!" seriously? Tsunade is just owning up to what Madara said like with needing to use hand signs and not having wood style; she's not saying that being a woman makes her weak. Plus, she's rolling up her sleeve ready to kick his butt, so it's not like she's giving up and waltzing back in the kitchen.

Kind of a random question. Are there any famous/powerful Uchiha women? The Uchihas that I can think of have been men only. I'm wondering if the entire clan is kind of sexist. In which case, Tsunade is deliberately using Madara's old-fashioned thinking to make him underestimate her, because she is "only" a woman.

QUOTE (Toasty Warrior @ Feb 29 2012, 12:34 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
...but as redkunai pointed out, the conversations between Itachi and Sasuke pretty much brought stuff up we already knew, and nothing new.

Hmm... They didn't talk about anything new, but what they chose to talk about was very revealing.

1) I thought Sasuke had moved on to his own path, but bless his little psychotic heart, he is *still* trying to get validation from his big brother.
2) Even after death, and with no other plans or schemes to worry about, Itachi is still being a jerk. After lying and playing mind games with Sasuke, Itachi is disappointed that Sasuke didn't chose the right path. (But that's okay. If he can't pick the right path, at least he is chosing his own path. rolleyes.gif ) After Sasuke points out that he was told to "come talk to me when you can see through my eyes", what is Itachi's response? He is too busy right now (despite being dead). Sasuke should wait there, and Itachi will come back later... maybe. If he isn't too busy, or too bored. dry.gif

(Itachi *is* on an important task, but that wouldn't stop him from talking-while-running. Or even saying, "I haven't been much of a big brother, but let's do an Uchiha team up against Orochimaru's pupil.")

QUOTE (The Tax-Man @ Feb 29 2012, 12:46 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Kishimoto's made tsunade too weak when he created her.

Again, hmm... When we were introduced to Tsunade, she was drunk and gambling. It seems like she hadn't done any training or missions in some time. We only know her strength when she was "out of shape".

I've heard some past comments complaining that Pein's attack didn't end up killing anyone, but I can't remember Tsunade being given credit. Pein dropped the equivalent of a nuclear bomb on Konaha, and Tsunade kept the village alive. She may be less skilled than the 1st because she had to use hand signs, but it is still an impressive display of power. I have a feeling that Madara is going to seriously underestimate the amount of healing she can do.

Put it this way. Naruto's mentors mentioned he was less skilled at using the rasengan because he needed to use clones to create them. But that in no way diminishes what he has done with that skill, the power behind it, or how quickly he learned to do it in the first place.

Aww. Sasuke's memories of Itachi were kind of touching. I can Understand why he's saying the things he is to his older brother. It's at times like these that I don't hate him. But I agree with those who said that it wasn't really interesting. I expected more drama, haha.
But damn, Madara sure was bagging on Tsunade. He's right, though... Now the First can heal himself with no seals!? I wonder what Tsunade will do. I hope she'll do something but I don't know...

QUOTE (narunarunaru @ Feb 29 2012, 01:42 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
On another note, I can't believe Kishi made her look like kitten. He says, she's weak, she doesn't have mokuton, she's a woman, blah blah blah. And the only come back she can think of is "Will of Fire"? How is that going to do anything to Madara?

That's what I was thinking. Kishi sure likes making women look weak, it seems. What's she going to do against Madara? She's weak compared to her grandfather, and she is only a "woman," after all... Tsk tsk.

QUOTE (tricksie @ Feb 29 2012, 04:07 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Tsunade and the will of fire.... Looks like she's been trained in Naruto's Talk no Jutsu too. laugh.gif I'm totally excited for some Tsunade fight action. But flexing your fist and spouting nonsense to Madara is a bit like stabbing a dragon with a toothpick. That's only going to make him mad. And she's still got nothing.

Lol @ first paragraph. I feel the same way.
And yeah. I'm curious to see how she'll display this "will of fire." Honestly, she hasn't convinced me yet, as much as I like her.

Dude whatever happened to the future generation surpasing the past generation. If you take out Naruto, and probably Shikamaru and and Chouji, the past generation would totally kick the current gen's arse,  One of the main foundations of the manga seems to be forgotten, if there is something this current arc has shown is how there were some amazing ninja's in the past, The first Hokage with his ability, and then Madara, and even Gaara's father...don't care what the manga showed bt Golddust is more powerful that regular sand.

The power of the first Hokage always seems to jump another level whenever he gets mentioned, it's like those chinese whispers tales, he started off with the ability to use wood release then the power of the seperate elements came in, then the scale at which he could use them powers came in, and after a few iterations  he became a super powerful man who can make trees, plants, heal himself and not even use seals.

Madara did bring up a a good point though when compared to the First Hokage, and even the Kage's beside her she does appear weak, we have the Raikage with his Strength, speed and lightning ability, Kazekage with sand release, Tsuchikage with his triple element dust release and flying ability, and then finally Mizukage with her dual bloodline, now compare this to Tsunade who has super strength and healing abilty, but no element power that we've seen so far, her super strength has been made less impressive thanks to the Raikage and his lariat and now her healing abilty has been made to look weak compared to her own grandfather. I expect Tsunade to win somehow, but damnit it pisses me off how Tsunade is made to look once again.

That's exactly what I've been thinking this entire time. It's kind of disappointing to see her so weak compared to the Kages. She's strong in her own right, but still.

It's not really sexist if they haven't shown any female Uchiha with the Sharingan. The only prominent Uchiha are Madara, Itachi, Obito, and Sasuke. The rest we've seen, they got slaughtered.

Also, there's a few comments about how the current ninja seem to be weaker than the old ninja. There's a reason for that; Madara and Hashirama must've lived in an age of turbulence, it's possible that the Sage's death may've caused a power vacuum with several powerful warriors rising and fighting in a sort of 'Feudal Period'. It could be to prove who was to be the next powerful ninja or to quickly acquire the newly created bijuu.

Compared to the relatively peaceful modern times, it makes sense that the older, deceased ninja are several degrees more powerful than the current ninja. They were constantly fighting amongst each other until villages started popping up. Then, it seems like the villages may have been in a state of Cold War, where espionage was the norm, with fewer large-scale battles.

Heck, compare Hashirama's large-scale Mokuton techniques to Minato's teleporting technique. We've got attacks designed to affect a larger area and could take out an army vs. a more precise technique that could be used to get in and out of an area quickly (though it can still be used against an army, too).

We've also got the outfits from the past and present. Hashirama and Madara both wear thick armor while current ninja are dressed in all sorts of outfits that aren't standard issue. It might indicate a shift from large-scale battles to infiltration. Obviously, you stick out while wearing armor in another village. They also wear tactical jackets that may or may not be armor, but allow a ninja to carry a variety of tools.

It looks like Madara has some respect for the Senju after all, even though they were born enemies. Very interesting.

I have to say, both the Itachi/Sasuke and Madara/everyone fights are exciting me more than all of the fights that Naruto has been involved in in the past 20 or so chapters.

QUOTE (zacrathedemon5 @ Feb 29 2012, 07:11 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
You have to keep in mind that, whether we like it or not, Sasuke is one of the main characters. He always has been. Naruto has gotten way more screen-time than him lately, and to be frank, the majority of it has been very boring. Kishi needs to focus on the other main character influencing the story now. Don't fault him for that.

Not boring. just too much focused on Naruto right? I get the impression that you like the "everyone contributes" concept, not just some one going into super, unmatched, overpowered, single person army mode and that everything should be just left to to them. smile.gif

THAT I agree with. It's really undermining honestly. and why go with the over used cliche of "YOU'RE NOTHING COMPARED TO SO AND SO OF THE PAST" stuff? facepalm.png can't the current generation for once SURPASS past generations in not just peppy courage and strong will but combat prowess as well? I'm sometimes sick of that being an excuse to why the protagonist side is always being curb stomped, cause they are "currently lacking" in fighting ability. th_cussing.gif

Actually that is true but I'm tired of it being the excuse to losing badly cause "you're talenless compared to the one before you" crap. Can't they be losing for once cause of superior experience, cunning and tactical preparation or something? Strength shouldn't be decided by the era but by the individual. at least in fiction dry.gif

Well, considering that they just overpower through everything, it's really difficult to try and defeat them with other tactics.

Plus, at least most of the Kages have been fighting without rest. Oonoki most prevalent.

Also, I don't think that the modern shinobi are experienced in taking down these ridiculously powerful opponents.

Madara's Mokuton ability probably wasn't anticipated by the Alliance.

And really, the fact that Madara lived in such a turbulent period IS the reason that he's so powerful. Add to being able to use the Sharingan, he's probably mastered it more than any Uchiha due to constant fighting.

Sasuke really is the antihero in this. There is so much focus on his story, his development and his need to be saved that Naruto almost takes a back seat.

Naruto's story is straight forward: gain knowledge and power to rid best friend of evil. But it's Sasuke's story that is complex. He's got knowledge and power, but he's still grappling with the emotional bombshells of his youth. And he wants revenge. Sasuke's character is still developing, where Naruto's development has sort of stopped.

Anyway, chapters like this make me wonder why the manga is named Naruto. Yeah, he is the savior and all....but the plot really revolves around Sasuke.

Itachi is such an ass. You screwed him up, now just answer the poor kid's questions.

Tsunade and the will of fire.... Looks like she's been trained in Naruto's Talk no Jutsu too. laugh.gif I'm totally excited for some Tsunade fight action. The bolded part, is were I lost respect for this Manga and Kishi. After the Tsunade part now I questioning the time I spend reading this Manga...

Naruto is nothing like Goku, Ichigo, Luffy or even Edward from FMA, Naruto was only created to kiss Sasuke's a** plus make Sasuke look good....
