It's also about celebrating what we have. Well-wishers don't mean injury, and note the "wall of text". This is a congratulatory/merry sort of thread, from what I take of it, but thank you for the links. Nothing wrong with sharing the history and the meaning behind a holiday, but I think this is meant to showcase the lighter side of stuff. For women like myself and those now who get to enjoy going to school and having equal opportunity, and just the mere acknowledgment of that from fellow women and men is enough to make me smile.

True, there is that sense of irony, but I don't blame the caution. It was merely to keep something positive from turning into something sombre.

Called up my grandma as soon as I saw this thread, told her that I think she's one of the most amazing women I've ever met because of her persevering attitude and constant smile. Then I gave my mum a crushing hug <3

One thing about being a woman that is so much more awesome than men is.... That we can wear so many different types of clothing and shoes! I mean, you men get... suites, ties, shirts, hats, pants, and shorts. We get all the already mentioned with the exception of ties, and we get dresses, skirts, like.... 6 different kinds of shoes, yeah... you get the picture.... How awesome is that?
