Cold winters, and perfect summers.
I attend the university here, so it's not really my home town... but close enough I suppose. I'm too sleepy to flesh anything out any more than I've already done, so I'll just leave it at that. A picture says more than a thousand words:

DC, my second home. Lived on Capitol Hill for many years. But I'm in North Carolina now, y'all.
edit: Come back to DC every spring for the cherry blossoms. Bliss.

Yeah, DC is actually my second home, it's where my grandmother lives, and I've lived there off and on for a few years - in Northwest, an area often referred to as Chevy Chase because it borders the MD town of the same name. A lot of people who live there just call it Chevy Chase, DC. That's similar to others who refer to the places they live, like you said - Capitol Hill, Anacostia, Potomac Heights, Tenleytown, etc. Some people may recognize those names if they played Fallout 3...
Where I currently live is a pretty big town called Olney, MD - but there's only like one or two people on the boards here who likely have any idea where the hell that is, so I usually just say Washington DC since I can technically walk over the border to my grandmother's house in about 5 or 6 hours. Interestingly enough they might also recognize Olney in Fallout 3 as well. (It was called Old Olney.)

A hand holds up the sky while shamefully I make my plea
The alter's callin' but my legs won't seem to stand
Guess I'm a coward scared to face the man I am
