Yeah, he would have been good for Sasuke not Naruto.

But dreamcasting wise, Mark Hamill back in Star Wars: A New Hope was filmed wouldn't have been be a bad choice for Naruto- looks and acting style.

Given the ages of the characters, I think Naruto, Sakura, or any of the Rookie Nine + Three would be extremely hard to cast. Even if you aged them a bit, just to make it easier to film (done -- though not particularly well -- in some movies like Dragonball Evolution, Percy Jackson, and Last Airbender, leading me to think this isn't the way to go), it would be extremely hard to find established actors who could play characters of their age believably. You're better off going the Harry Potter route, and finding complete unknowns.

Of course, this is pure fantasy casting, so speculate away... but I honestly don't think you can find anyone convincingly appropriate for the casting of these guys.

I don't know about Hayden Christensen. Naruto is a very emotive character, and from what I remember from the Star Wars prequel trilogy, Christensen had as much emotion as a rock. Even his most dramatic scene in Episode 3, his fight with Obi-Wan, was dull, at least as far his dialogue went. I remember my brother and I were laughing in the theater at his "If you are not my friend...you are...MY ENEMY!" line. But I guess that was years ago, maybe he's improved as an actor since then.

That being said, I pray to the heavens that Hollywood doesn't touch Naruto. I've yet to see a good Western live-action anime movie. I'm still recovering from Dragonball: Evolution (*shivers*), and I'm having nightmares about how Warner Bros. recently bought the rights to a live-action Bleach movie.

Hayden's dialogue was written by Lucas, he had no choice but to say those lines. Considering their atrocity, he did a very good job with what he was given.
That being said, I do hope that Hollywood doesn't touch Naruto also. Naruto would NOT work as a Hollywood movie. And they bought the rights to Bleach? O_O Oh God help us.

As for the topic itself... I know I'd want Morgan Freeman or Anthony Hopkins to be the third hokage Ralph Fiennes as Orochimaru (we all know he could pull that off), and for Kakashi... hm... Liam Neeson, maybe? Zabuza could be Mark Strong (I know that they don't share appearances, but Mark Strong makes damn good villains like Zabuza).

Three Primary Emotions throughout the entire saga:
1) Yelling. Nothing but YELLING.
2) Han Solo-esque whimsy that is forced through the wazoo. He even acts like Indiana at some points, which is hard to comprehend because I have never even seen Indiana Jones but I can still see Harrison Ford doing the same exact steps. Just by Indiana's character description can I tell that Hayden is funneling talent from him.
3) Emo-tional rip-apartness that Tommy Wiseau would laugh at.

Bill Murray's attitude in acting would make for a great Jaraiya. He can pull it off no problem.

I'm actually excited for the Death Note movie. Whether it's a good excited or a bad excited, Idk yet. But I really want to see what they do with it.
But omfg a live action Naruto movie would be stupid. No actors on the planet could do it right. Plus it's just not one of those...uhh..types of shows that would make a smooth transition to movie format.
