I agree, Naruto probably has resigned and taken a step back... So I don't really see him take a step until either Sasuke is back (maybe he'll give it a last shot then) or Sakura show's strong affection.
Sakura... may be in denial, I'm not sure till I see more about her feelings though...
And it's weird that people are so quick to dispell Yamato's and Sai's observations...
Sai may be emotionally crippled, but Yamato is not and he's an ANBU Captain.
Ninjas are supposed to see underneath the underneath and ANBU even more so.
Reading opponents and analyzing them is very important. So his opinion should definitely count for something.
It's not the only moment Kishi has chosen to "sabotage".
There should be something behind this pattern...

Wut?
XD; Anyway, roninmedia I guess I can sort of agree with what you're saying. Though I honestly think that by the time they decide to sort out their feelings, it'll be after the whole Sasuke ordeal is resolved (and most likely towards the end). We already know Naruto cares so much about Sakura that he's willing to sacrifice his own happiness for her, and as for Sakura both Yamato and Sai have commented about her feelings towards Naruto. While the comments may not necessarily be geared towards anything romantic itself, it definitely shows that Naruto and Sakura share an incredible bond of friendship. People may argue that stepping into a romantic relationship will ruin their friendship, but I firmly believe that the friendship will only make their romantic relationship stronger. They've just bonded so well with each other until now, and theres been so much development, it would be a shame to stop it.

Since I haven't been here let me give some insight:
If you notice manga and somewhat anime, Naruto and Sakura have had some times of being little use to each other. Naruto so far has failed to bring back Sasuke. That is what may be keeping him a bit distant from her, he feels as if he is failing her in keeping his promise to her. Sakura has trained to become a medic-nin, but her efforts are useless in helping to contain the Demon Fox. She feels at times she is still useless in everything she tries to do for him.
Sakura cares deeply yes for him, but I will dare to say that she is slowly beginning to step over the boundary in where she is having affection for him. Naruto has basically established his feelings for her already and they have matured over time. Kishi is just gradually bringing Sakura around to even things up. Not that it is an integral part to the story as it is focused on action, but it has meaning on how much closer these two have gotten over the years. Naruto was willing to let himself fall into the grasp of Kyuubi for her, not just for Sasuke, because he cared so much for her.
Yes there is still Sasuke, time will sort that out. Nuff said.

i would not go to the lengths of saying sakura is in denial, naruto maybe though. though im sick of all the friends dont make good partners garbage. i firmly believe you need to know alot about the person before you get together romantically. friends often make good pairs, its the friends that act like siblings that dont mesh well and that roll in this manga is reserved for naruto sasuke not narusaku.
