It's rare to find very serious intelligent protagonists who are not immature in someway or outshined by some kitten rival in shounen.

All of the character in your post is shonen heroic character. They somewhat dumb, love to eat, and never kill human character. No offense but Naruto and Ichigo are kinda annoying. Goku is also pretty stereotypical IMO. Luffy's ok but I think he's too childish to be a fan favorite.

Why? That kind of thing is much more appealing to the target demographic.
It's stereotype, but I'm fine with it.
There are that kind of character like keima from the world god only know.

I guess I view him more as an antagonist.
I'd agree on that, he was an antagonist but not a villain. But he still was beyond awesome.
Inuyasha- if he's considered a shounen hero
Agreed! I got annoyed with him many times, but when all is said and done, I still consider him both awesome and sweet. Hehe, we have similar tastes, tang!
And yeah, Naruto was one of my favorite protagonists until that what must not be named happened.

Probably Luffy and Ed. Lelouch and Kenshin aren't too bad either.

I have not seen the manga, but still I think he hasn't fight, but in the anime the creator make him surrender to make way to the main character of Saint Saiya Omega. Still Seiya is legendary as protagonist, but my favorite Ikki The Phoenix.
By the way not even Kratos:

Goku from the Dragon Ball franchise. It's amazing how even as he grows up and matures, a lot of his characteristics remain the same, but he also has great qualities as an adult; he's a loving husband and father even if he's a dork who enjoys fighting, as well as being driven to protect those precious to him.

WHEN this became a Saint Seiya topic? Why was not I informed?
Did he already fight Zeus? Or the author doesn't continue it.
Pfffff... Damned if I know. Kurumada seems more focused on other projects than on giving a proper end to his series.
Anyway Seiya is fine, but my favorite Bronze Saints are Shiryu and Ikki (Ikki is my best friend's favorite characters).
I will return to my origins LOL this was my childhood:
The first Saint Seiya epusode what I ever watched was the one of the Hyoga versus Hydra fight. I watched it in the early nineties and my jaw dropped to the ground since I had never watched some cartoon like that. It was completely different of most stuff that I watched in TV back then.
Do you want to take over the world, huh? Well, you'll have to go through us first!
