This is quite similar to that one filler episode where Naruto is watching this rich boy...
I personally don't like Konohamaru's design, and Sarada's design and characterization is just - I mean, why do they have to sexualize her?
And it's going the foreshadowed 'evil-with-tech' route. I have to say that I like the "a bit more modern" setting here, it seems to be toned down a bit compared to 700 or the movie?
Ruffy-Mitsuki is my favorite till now, but I still can't forget, that he is a sick experiment of Orochimaru and nobody says or does something!
Every image of her looks sexualized and then she ask if their boss would be her type. Ew.
I think they just went modern or when modern when they were kids since they have card, and video games.
Ok I just skipped to the end of the chapter, and WTF have they done with Sarada? She seems to behave more like Anko and Karin that Sakura or Sasuke....I hate to describe a person like this but she acted like a slut, she's 12 or 13 and she's behaving like some fem-fatal....it was most disturbing to see.
She does act like Sakura after the mission when she is chewing out Bolt, but I didn't need to see the overly sexualized twelve year old.
Okay, I just finished reading it, and I found it so weird.
Especially Sarada, she seems like a completely different person. That was so weird.
I was getting a little bored, but I guess we'll see where this goes.
What is her personality at this point? A girl with daddy issue? A nerdy girl? A no nonsense girl? A girl that dreams of becoming hokage. Or sexy librarian?
Geez, Sarada. What have they done to you?
I'm expecting that there will be some time skip, but where will that leave her? She's already dressing and acting like she's 22. Yes - channeling Anko or some other self-assured nin rather than a dorky kid who's coping with insane powers from mom and dad. Doesn't leave much room for character growth.
Her fight scene, while pretty strong, was undercut by all the leggy poses. She's super pretty all the time, with almost pin-up type body shapes. It's as if they don't want to make the same mistakes with Sakura — they want to make readers like her completely — so they're just making her undeniably cute/sexy/pretty. ....As if that's what was wrong with Sakura's storyline!!
Also, there was a big drop in the illustration in the scenes in Naruto's office. Obviously this was handed over completely to someone else in the office. Poor proportions and body shapes. Poor wide scenes. Same faces with different features. Under-inspired and poorly drawn all the way around.
Yeah, the cards scene was good - would have been better if they'd driven the point home, like Toy Ninja mentioned a few posts back /\. These kids should be kids — collecting cards, being dorky, etc. It would set them apart by having to be kids and handle extreme circumstance/family origins/powers at the same time.
But yeah — I can't tell if they're making a point about the three being kids in the village...or if the franchise is setting up a card game to sell in conjunction with the series, and this was a little in-manga commercial.
Oh so they already at point have assistance having to work on entire section of the manga already.
There should already be a card game for Naruto if I recall... *looks up* yep.
Salad's character arc at the moment seems to be her falling in love with Bolt, everything else is secondary or will be ignore completely. Last arc she looked down on Bolt completely, but by the end she started to gain feelings for him noticing how blue his eyes are. This time she complaining about the stupid card game so I won't be surprise at the end of this arc if she starts collecting them herself.
They are clearly trying to make people like her as quickly as possible so she doesn't end up like her mother. Since "their fans" always complain about Sakura looking ugly and having a flat chest? They decided to make sure Salad is as sexy as possible from the start. So guys think about having sex with her. Their fans complained that Sakura was useless during fight and the missions in general? They allow her to defeat some goons before being shown up by bolt (both against the panda and the bank robbers), also she they one that always on mission while bolt always does his own thing. People didn't see the romance growing between Sakura and Naruto and the feelings that Sakura was developing for Naruto? Make Salad look down on Bolt for something at the start of every arc and then have it at the end she has changed her feeling completely because of one line or action by him in the most blatant way possible.
My cousin just got done with the chapter, and she told me that she thinks this new arc could be a mirroring of the land of waves arc. Where in the beginning things didn't pick up till the following chapter.. that was until i reminded her things were about to get crazy in chapter 9 when some of the rogue ninja tried to eliminate Kakashi.
I mean who knows what could happen. Though.. I do wonder what Kakashi's up whenever we get the chance to see him given how Ibiki had some screentime in the chapter.
As far as Mirai goes, I'm kinda interested given how I thought her father was a great character (Damn that death scene was tragic).
Oh so that's the girls name. She seems to play the secretary for Shikamaru by the looks of it.
Sounds filler to me.
I say this takes six to seven months to get through this arc. Introduction of characters this month. Add to conflict between rich boy and bolt while also introducing the villain. Then villain then thinks up and enact his plan. Conflict with the villain which could take one to two months maybe three. Then conclusion where rich boy and Naruto become friends and bond over card game, with also the possibility of introducing something that will be part of the next arc.
