Alright real post. Since I'm lazy I'll copy-paste some thoughts I posted on Rooster Teeth

 

Season Finale

That was a perfect season finale with so many great moments. The Ozpin vs Cinder fight looked fantastic, the emotion with Jaune and Pyrrha and of course her terrible fate was heartfelt. The episode's wrap-up was really well done, too. Having Team RWBY completely fractured and team JNPR left picking up the pieces of a tragedy.

I said in a tweet that this episode had a very Empire Strikes Back feel to it and it also reminds me of the Season 2 finale to Avatar: The Last Airbender. Things are at the low point, so the next volume will be all about the recovery. It's a great "darkest before the dawn" set-up and I can't wait to see what happens next.

I'm especially curious of how Jaune will develop in the next volume. I think next season will define his character as a leader.

 

Extra Spoiler

As an Arkos shipper, the Pyrrha scene was a stab in the heart. Damn it was sad seeing the crown hit the ground. At least the ship was technically canon at the end, huh? It was fun while it lasted.

As I said before, I'm curious how Jaune will develop as a leader, but also as a person. I'm wondering if Pyrrha's death will make him a bit more serious.

That was an intense finale. I admit Pyrrha death didn't hit me as hard since I don't ship her with Jaune, so that moment lacked the emotional impact for me. I wonder if the devs will slowly start to push Jaune and Ruby together? I felt some slight hints here and there.

That my friends was a spectacular end to Volume 3, I mean people had their fears with how the series would go after the death of Monty. I mean to be fair I was one of those people, and to see how this ended really made me glad.  To be fair I'm actually thinking about buying Volumes 1 and 2 on Blu ray considering the direction of the story.  Now I am sad that Pyrha had to die it was kinda unexpected, but wow I knew RWBY got dark at the start fo Volume 3 and it was getting there, but OMG this is definition of a dark season. Now while I did kinda ship Jaune and Pyrha it did make me legimently sad for him, and seeing Ruby's dad made go like this dude is a beast, though I still consider Qrow my favorite character thus far.  Funny enough I went to a few forums to see what people thought abotu the finale, and some people were like Ruby and Jaune pairing could happen now which I'm not gonna get involved in. I do like that Ruby's new team comprised of Jaune, Nora, and Ren.    Then the ending scene  just made go like WTF I need to know what's gonna happen in Volume 4 lol and the after credit scene was cool.   

 

 

Anyway those are my thoughts on Volume 3 it almost reminds of Empire Strikes Back, Halo 5, X-men 2, Spider-Man 2 , The Dark Knight,  and Avatar The Last Airbender Book 2: Earth.

Already said the following in my blog but figured I'd just repost it here because I'm lazy. XD

 

I can't wait for the next season. Hopefully Yang gets a new robot arm and gets revenge while Jaune becomes more of a warrior and a leader. Especially now that he has to avenge Pyrrha. Most importantly, I am looking forward to seeing team RWBY eventually reunite again.

 

 

On a side note, though, because of what happened to Pyrrha in volume 3, where my ship essentially sank, I am officially changing allegiances. Today, I am proud to announce my coming aboard the Jaune X Weiss ship for the foreseeable future.

And today after seeing the new footage, I'm even more excited. Talk about coming a long way with the animation, wow. Looks the best it's ever been.

Volume 4 Episode 1

Looks like we won't be seeing team RWBY all together until the end of this volume, or the start of the next. Ruby continues her duties to grow stronger, while the rest stay with their family to train. I guess those eyes Ruby has will be what makes her overpowered. Don't like that concept where everyone else trains a lot, but the one at the top gets some ability passed down to them to make up for the gap between them and the final villain, but whatever.

 

The animation is amazing. Jaune + Pyrrha's metal. I was under the impression that she never really died, but now that Jaune took her metal and used it to make his armor and weapon... I guess she is. RIP Pyrrha. Speaking of Pyrrha. Why did they make Cinder look so forgivable this episode? It's like the "they're using me and I'm a broken woman" thing. Like, save her please... I'll forgive her if she keeps looking defeated.

Volume 4

I agree, it seems like they won't come back until the end. Looks like this season will be a rebuilding one, which makes me even more excited. Can't wait to see when RWBY finally regroups stronger.

I was really happy Jaune received both weapon and armor upgrades, and did so in a way that's honoring Pyrrha. I really hope his character develops more this season, he's become a favorite character of mine.

Regarding Cinder, my take was it's less about her looking forgivable and more about showing how much power Ruby has. Cinder was all powerful and confident but it's apparent she ran into something tough. That's just my guess.
