Thanks for posing them, krisk! That's really made a good start to my day. XD I wonder if Kyoani were really playing with us when they said the 2nd season was a repeat of the first..? This mini-series feels like a preview of sorts to something new, rather than a reboot.

It's supposed to express my aggravation. This "new" series is NOT funny, I HATE the "Chibified" animation style (it works in an anime like Lucky Star but not here) and I just feel like I'm watching something some fan made. As a fan of the original anime I'm miffed.

TV Wakayama station lists "Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody" for May 24 broadcast
The broadcast schedule for the TV Wakayama station lists the eighth episode of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya anime's ongoing "renewed airing" as "Sasa no Ha Rhapsody" ("Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody") on May 24. This would be the next story chronologically in Nagaru Tanigawa and Noizi Ito's original science-fiction comedy light novels, but this story was not animated during the anime's first airing in 2006. This schedule is the first written indication of a new episode that was not animated during the anime's first airing.
The Yahoo! TV Japan website had listed the 2009 airing's first episode on Sendai Television (OX) as "Asahina Mikuru no Bōken Episode 00" ("Mikuru Asahina's Adventure Episode 00"). This was also the first episode during the 2006 airing, but not the first story chronologically in the original light novels. However, OX — like the other stations — actually aired the episode "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya I" ("Suzumiya Haruhi no Yūutsu I") as the first episode this year. That was the first episode chronologically in the original light novels, but the second episode to air during the first 2006 airing.

Update: More background information added.
Update 2: TV Wakayama's schedule no longer lists the episode title. TV Wakayama told the Gigazine website that it was instructed not to post the episode title — but since the title was "somehow" posted anyways, the station has deleted that information. Thanks, Aeria.
TV LISTINGS:
original -> engrish motherfudger
I've got to tip my hat to Kadokawa. They finally sent us some hints, via Haruhi-chan, but they weren't via the ED this week, but via the final ep last week.
--Yuki starting off her portion of the non-sequitur at the end of the episode holding up a Haruhi "product" and saying "It's done."
--The "Obvious Disappearance reference is obvious" eroge version of Yuki, complete with Kyon saying "Shoukittensu da!"
And the kicker...
--The date showing on the "Asakura Route" CG being May 24. Not the first date the new episode will air, but the date that was "accidentally" leaked.
now the question is:
WILL YOU SURVIVE 5/24?!

Allegedly Kadokawa is sneaking in the new episodes through the Haruhi re-airing. It's not surprising since it would've been counterproductive
I can't personally say much since I haven't read the novels, but I have no problem with this. I mean Kadokawa/KyoAni's Haruhi team has the most peculiar behavior in anime history-- so I'm not all that surprised. 'Sides, the order they showed S1 worked off eccentric, awesome, and was universally accepted XD
THIS ISN'T FUNNY ANYMORE!
Tbh I'd be laughing my face off if I was a Kadokawa/KyoAni employee. SO in a kickass depressing vicious circle sorta way it IS kinda funny.
Though dunno if I should baw or grr or zomg at how these companies carry themselves. Really, they're not people that take their sheet lightly XD
On a related note, here's another fanboy!made episode order. The first one I posted seemed iffy and the one below was unanimously decided as more accurate.
Melancholy II
Melancholy III
Melancholy IV
Melancholy V
Melancholy VI
Boredom
Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody
Mysterique Sign
Lone Island Syndrome I
Lone Island Syndrome II
Endless Eight
Sighs I
Sighs II
Sighs III
Episode 00
Live Alive
Day of Sagittarius
Someday in the Rain
Disappearance I
Disappearance II
Disappearance III
Disappearance IV
Disappearance V
Charmed at First Sight LOVER
Snow Mountain Syndrome
Snow Mountain Syndrome II
Where Did the Cat Go?
New episodes italicized.
ALSO TEENY NOTE: I mayyyyy have trolled you guys myself....
... BUT! it's not bad ROFL
4chan is just too retarded to trust and most of the goobers there are trusting important date information concerning the second season. In my case I just kept on believing that tv listing that Kadokawa "accidentally" posted up but "wasn't supposed to" was an accident. People are saying that this whole shi-storm's like the Streisand Effect being put to play, but in Kadokawa's case, I believe (though totally not 104% on), it was premeditated. FFFFF
Anyway TL;DR: WATCH OUT FOR THE 21ST TOO!
The time that the next episode (it being the new one or that of the expected one from S1) was set for 24:40 in Japan on Sun Television.
If you've got the channel, here's something to go by:
May 21, 10:40am (10:40)
Time in Vancouver, BC,Canada (NA Pacific Daylight Time, GMT -7):
May 21, 8:40am (08:40)
Time in Sydney, NSW, Australia (AU Eastern Standard Time, GMT +10):
May 22, 1:40am (01:40)
Time in London, England, UK (British Summer Time, GMT+1):
May 21, 4:40pm (16:40)
I've got dibs on Texas, so I'll see if by some miraculous chance pops has a weird fetish for the Japanese and ordered Japan channels with our TV pack. If not then it's up to either you (if you're in Japan) to check if it's the REALLY THE NEW episode (or not) or the kids on the 2chan boards.
Unfortunately since I heard that the Keyhole tv is expected be down during the time of the episode airing, I don't expect anybody to get anything from me repping KHT. But eh, it's here if anyone wants to try it out on the 21st.
But like I said, the internet has full surveillance over the 21st first, then the 24th. It's a good thing or it's a bad thing; either way I've got a calm be4 the storm feeling in my gut. D:
tl;dr HEADS UP FOR THE 21ST GUYS!
