But so far in the story, all we've been focused on is releasing the re-dead shinobi. Once Sakura reaches Naruto, which is where she and all of the other ninja are heading, she may be given a role to play. I do think the focus is going to stay on Naruto and Sasuke, as the series is drawing closer to an end. Their battle is approaching. Is there a role for Sakura anywhere in there? Probably not. I do, however, believe that she and Kakashi should be reintegrated back into the picture because ultimately, this is about Team Seven. Not solely Naruto and Sasuke. I picture something along the lines of what happened in the OVA occurring to involve them. :]

I agree. I don't think the series will end without the main character talking to main heroine one last time. In fact, I believe something big must be talked between these two characters before the series ends, let it be romance or not.

When it comes to Sakura I think Kishi and the Editors I think they are purposely holding her back, they feel like if they focus too much on her character it will drastically change how people read the story especially the pairing fans, the pairing group may wall away from the story and Kishi doesn't want that.
It's sad to see that because KIshi could do so many things with her apart from romance, example: ByaKugou, Genjutsu, Tsunade could help her with her contract, so many way for Sakura to shine that doesn't involve romance. It's relly Sad.

Sad, or genius. Think about, it has been about over 100 chapters since we last saw Naruto and Sakura talk. All we got was him saving her from Zetsu clones, and him asking her if she's okay (he still called her Sakura-chan). Do you find that anyway suspicious that for that long we have not actually seen them talk? This is probably the longest we have seen them not together, in fact we hardly seen both of them thinking about each other until recently.
What's even weirder is that Sakura has not been given her own fight scene yet. Yeah I know she's to be busy healing people and all that, but why wouldn't Kishi write in a fight scene for her, one where her character gets resolve. That's an other thing, she is probably one of the few characters left who hasn't have their plot line resolved yet.
I say all this genius is because it all makes us want to read the manga to see what happens next. We all, especially us Narusaku fans, want to see Naruto and Sakura talk (okay maybe most people). So we keep reading it to see what happens, or when will it happen. The fact she hasn't fought, unlike several other of the supporting characters, may mean that something is going to happen with her.
I could be wrong, maybe I'm just over thinking all this. Maybe the reason we haven't seen her do anything of interest for about 100 chapters (not including Ch. 539 and 540) is because Kishi simply doesn't have anything else for this character to do anymore. Maybe she hasn't had a fight scene in the war yet is because her character is already resolved (no it's not). Like I said I could be wrong about all this.

I think the reason for this is because unlike Kishi, Mashima is a very avid gamer (and an RPG fan, to boot). Why would this create such a big difference?? simple. It's because Mashima's played tons of RPG's that he eventually knew how the core structure of a fighting team should be like and how the teamwork should work like the back of his hand.
In fact, it's also thanks to this that FT has more teamwork than any other shounen out there. Also, this is the reason why Tsunade & Sakura rarely have any fights. It's because of Kishi's inexperience of using Medic/Healer characters, and that led to their abilities not fleshed out well enough. Not only that, I think that when Kishi created Tsunade, he just wrote her abilities on the go and didn't give much thought to it that led to a half-baked character in terms of abilities.

I don't know if those notes they were included in the American releases, though.
In one of those notes he said he owned a NES and he loved Super Mario Bros, Legend of Zelda, Metroid and other games such like Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest. His assistants sometimes argue what game was the better and tried to get him to choose one side.
He also said his favorite anime series as growing up were Gundam, Touch, Captain Tsubasa, Fist of North Star, Dragon Ball, Saint Seiya, Rurouni Kenshin... When I read that I thought it was not a wonder I liked Naruto. Its creator watched all series I liked!
Edit: Regarding the topic... Yes. She is.

You know, I was rereading Naruto a bit today during the Retrieve Tsunade arc and I realized other than a few moments like helping out Suna with Kankuro, Kishi hasn't really made Sakura a medic ninja.
During that arc, Shizune and Kabuto were using needles, chakra scalpels, smoke, quick healing, nervous system shocks, etc. But what have we seen Sakura doing...? Mostly just monstrous strength, healing on the sidelines, and poison kunai. Of course there are other moments when she pulls out useful antidotes in the middle of battle, but she still doesn't fight like a medic ninja.
Not to say that Sakura is weaker or anything, but I just wonder why Kishi hasn't made her as... 'cool' as other medic ninja. Sakura's fighting style seems bland at times. I guess it's just not her style. *sigh* But it would have been cool.
Sig made by me though. XD
