Not so sure. Perhaps the movie may explain, but I slightly doubt it. Either way, it's just Kishi's way to have already made characters interacting with each other (Naruto's family). I don't mind. I just want to see. So far, we got very good reviews on its themes and story.

Edit: Here's a thought, if Menma does meet Sakura, you think Menma will comment her existence? That could be one way to find out.

Someone should make a recap. I pretty much did when you really think about it. Lol. Again, we came a long way. Not only our pairing gets the main priority out of all pairings, but the movie seems to be in the right direction.

Hm, I'm beginning to think this is the pairing that he will make it canon only. He did say only one will be confirm. This is the best option. After all, why go through so much trouble to include Sakura in the story.

What's done is done. He forgives you, vice versa. We shouldn't be fighting anyway. We should be happy about the movie. It's funny. We came a long way.

Back when it was announced, people speculate whether if it is in AU or genjutsu. Then, we got the main cast listed, which got people in here excited. Then, sketches of AU characters were released, including Hinata. Sasuke sketch was out and then the magazine shows Sakura loving Sasuke. People starts to worry. The teaser trailer was released and people were a little bewildered, due to Sasuke handing in the rose to Sakura. Skipping to 2 weeks before movie release, the one-shot manga was released and a lot of people were down. So down, I didn't bother to post, not that I was down too, but people were really doubting Kishi's work. To make the matter worse, the color spread made people think that Kishi is really going NaruHina and SasuSaku, regardless of how forced it will be on Kishi's part. It was a sad day in here. So sad, even in debate topic, people were starting to see Kishi has abandoned them. Suddenly, people has seen the light.

We see an interview of Kishi with new footages; footages that contain NaruSaku. At first, people are speculating that their conversation reflects that they don't want to leave genjutsu because they like it. It turns out that only Naruto likes it because of his parents. Sakura is sadden because once they leave, Naruto will be alone again. That turn people in a better light. Then, new footages were released and people start to feel good again with Hinata's jealousy, Sakura meeting with Naruto's parents, and everytime we see Naruto, we see Sakura with him. Then, every panic faded away tremendously. The summary was out and turns out that AU Hinata and AU Sasuke are nothing but comedy moment. Sasuke's part is a huge troll by Kishi, while Hinata being yandere doesn't bring Naruto closer. It turns out that NaruSaku is one of the huge theme of the movie and it was established so well, that it was able to convert a fan into NaruSaku.

All in all, Kishi is officially in our side. I mean why spend so much time with them. If he wants a movie about the parents, why included Sakura in the role to begin with. Why bring Sakura into AU? He does it for a great reason, and by the review, it really shows.

All very true -- none of this is confirmed yet, so the best thing to do is wait and see if she actually said it, and if she did, then what context it was said in and how it came about. I'd like to have faith that Kishi wouldn't regress his character, one that he seems to be quite fond of on top of that.

if Naruto knows this is a genjutsu, why doesn't he just accept that none of it is real and actively look for a way to escape? I like that we get to see the Uzumaki family but really it seems very selfish of Naruto to have a desire to stay in a genjutsu.

Maybe, he just likes the thought of actually having and seeing his mother and father alive, and of course, on the basis of their characteristics and awesomeness on them, I somewhat don't blame him and see his point, but that does not make it less selfish though.

Well think about it, Naruto has never been... too selfish all his life. Or at least, not when it came to family, real family.

He's never even knew who they are, and when he finally met them, it was only for a few moments -and longer with Kushina, but still-
He might feel satisfied with that, knowing his parents at last and spending a few moments with them, but when the opportunity arises that your parents are right there and 'alive', even if it's only a 'dream', he might want to indulge for a little while. Even if he knows it's fake and could never be his reality.

Well that's the story. Naruto always, and I mean, ALWAYS, wants to be with a family that will always tell him "Welcome home." Who's there to say that (besides Sakura in the near future)? The nice twist is that Sakura is a character who Naruto loves so much. That said Naruto cannot force himself to be an a**hole to Sakura because he always care for her, but the problem is he wants to stay forever or at least as he can, probably without realizing it. He has to accept that life goes on and what happened in reality is what you have to deal with. I just like the struggle he's going to face. Two love, one choice.

This movie is pretty much the final nail in the coffin for naruhina and sasusaku. The chances of a massive troll are just too low for me to take seriously. In my mind we win, bragging rights are awesome but from what we herd we'll have nobody to brag to since all the naruhina fans are going to change sides.

There are possibilities that Kishi is making it this way for other reasons but like I said the chances of that are too low to take seriously. You may say "Oh you never know!" which is true but at least when NS does end up cannon I'll be able to say "told you so".

So yes I'm no longer doubting NS at all.


That said I do find it extremely creepy that Naruto is basically spending all this time with Tobi. I mean really, it's a genjutsu, Tobi controls the entire thing. So Tobi is Naruto's parents. I'm sorry but I just won't be able to get that thought out of my head watching the movie. This isn't really an alternate universe, it's just an illusion.

Doesn't make the feelings of the people trapped in it any less real. Just ask Kakashi about his torture under Itachi's Tsukuyomi -- it left him in a coma and took a long time to recover from the ordeal.

Theoretically, whatever Naruto and Sakura feel and experience in the genjutsu will stay with them.

Exactly. It's like you said about Kakashi, and the same for us like a bad dream: Sometimes when you have a really disturbing dream, it stays with you sometimes.

Any new updates within the past 6 or so pages? There's a lot to go back and check and I wouldn't know where to start.
