I just.....I don't know what to say anymore. The truth....only Kishi knows which he doesn't want to reveal. I believe that he's gonna pull a Rowling on this one, announcing five years down the line that he should've put Sakura and Naruto together....
Edit: One question. If Sakura still had feelings for Naruto and Sasuke knew it....then...why Sarada? Sarada should not have happened! Same goes for Boruto and Himawari. They shouldn't have happened. Though I give the benefit of doubt to Hinata's obliviousness on Naruto still loving Sakura after 699....but Naruto knew it!
It's quite possible they never consummated the marriage. Maybe Sasuke being a sperm donor to confirm the marriage being consummated in the eyes of people. Sakura rejected him and Naruto cried down to his knees and told Sakura his final words to her in the movie that Hinata was the one he really loved not her and he left the cave. And Sakura's reaction was not seen or written in the novel. It's only presumed she had her first breakdown off screen, crying. If Sasuke never felt sorry for Sakura then he and Sakura must have came to an agreement that the marriage will be about Naruto trying to get over her. And Sasuke owns Naruto his life and gratitude. What a fiting punishment for Sasuke. To marry a woman that may no longer love him bt loves his best friend. No wonder he's not home most of the time when he can help it
