The thing that I hate about this ending is how incomplete it all feels. The plot holes are one thing but what gets to me more is that none of the characters that I went on a journey with for 700 chapters got a satisfying ending. 
 
Naruto achieves his lifelong dream which is great. But because it was such an important part of what defined him, I wanted to see more. I wanted to see how he becomes Hokage, I wanted to see him standing on the Hokage building for the first time beaming over the gathered villagers, I wanted to see those who supported him throughout his journey alongside him during his greatest moment - Sakura, Iruka, Kakashi, the rest of the rookie nine and even Sasuke.
 
I wanted Naruto to remember his parents and Jiraiya again in the end. 
 
Sakura goes through the entire journey growing as a person and as a medical ninja. I wanted to see her working as the head of the medics. I wanted to see Tsunade interacting with her best student and passing over the mantle.  
 
Sasuke.. I would have preferred he went to jail but since this manga is all about forgiveness, I wanted him to change. I wanted to see him a happier man who spends time with his family and best friend. I wanted to see him become a protector of the village, not someone who would run away again.
 
This disappointing ending did not only apply to the main characters. We get nothing about what the older generations are up to. Tsunade, Iruka, Kakashi, Anko and others-- What happens to them ? Are they married ? Do they have families ? What do they do now ? Important characters who deserve better than what they got. 
 
And then there's Yamato..! 
 
What about the rookie nine?  What do they do after the War ? Shikamaru is an advisor and Shino a teacher. Tenten wastes her life as a shop-keeper ? Rock-Lee is so unimportant that Kishi decides to put a kid with him and not even bother to explain where that kid came from..? What about Sai ? What about Ino ? What about Kiba ? What about Choji ? What about Temari ? What about Hinata? Does she do anything about the Hyuuga clan ? 
 
Why are there more questions than answers ?
 
All we get is about their kids. So many panels wasted on this and I hate that. I don't care about the kids. The same happened in the Harry Potter epilogue and I hated it. How can I care about the kids..? The characters that I grew up reading, the characters that I feel connected to are Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke, Sai, Shikamaru and the others NOT Bolt, Salad and the other kids. 

This is exactly how I feel. Ending was rushed and stupid.

Though I would say and argue that he should have ended up with Taka(the people who understand him his pain, been there for him and supported him the most)  in the Sound and "protecting" Konoha from there for Itachi's sake  even working for peace by creating a village in the sound and in that way be a support to Naruto and Konoha  .

 

Sasuke didn't belong in Konoha anymore for a long time it didn't feel like that by what was shown to us . Konoha didn't feel as his home anymore , after everything that has happened between them  there were just to much bad memories in there for him . I think this would have been perfect for his character and show some growth and moral for once . But that's just me and my opinion Lol .

Very true. It was rushed but he still could have done a better job in the same no of pages. It was all thrown away for the sake of advertising part 3 and that's what I cannot stand.

 

Part 3 is an entirely different thing. We followed the lives of these characters for 700 chapters and deserved better than that lazy attempt at a happy ending. The characters deserved better !

Damn, I completely forgot about Taka ! Kishi's influence perhaps..? 

 

Yeah, I wanted Sasuke to be punished for all his crimes but lets face it, it was never gonna happen. Sasuke was always gonna get a good ending but tbh Kishimoto failed at this too. Sasuke neither got punished, nor did he get a happy ending. He started to 'atone for his sins' as soon as the War ended and yet 15 years later he's still wandering..?! 

 

Sasuke is a hobo and Sakura is apparently a housewife. So who supports the family I wonder
