ReplyComments? o.o And I don't know if I interpreted it differently, but what I got from her speech is that she'll stop chasing Naruto romantically and stand beside him as a comrade and as an equal.
It's the same vibe I got from everyone else, like Shikamaru. Did you mean to say that that instead of chasing after him, she'd try her best to stay beside him as a serious lover?
Isn't that what she was trying to do anyways by chasing after him (well winning his love)? She would have to chase after him first to achieve that, so that's a bit contradictory...not to mention all those speeches were about Naruto and staying by his side (if it's romantic, then I lost all hope in her character LOL)

The possibility of NH/SS was really, really low imo... NH as a pairing is the one that suffers the most imo. We already have an established love interest for the main character (since chapter 3!) and it's been built upon for the entire manga. Not to mention the fact that there is absolutely no development between them as a couple. I see their relationship as a admirer-hero type. There's not an ounce of romantic feelings from Naruto ---> Hinata. Hinata was never involved in his personal life too, Hinata was just never there.... For a relationship to grow there needs to be mutual understanding and shared experiences. Hinata has no idea about Sasuke, nor does she know the extent of his dream to become Hokage. NH would have only been a rival pairing if there was development between them and Hinata was a part of Naruto's life. Though she wasn't, not even in the slightest. SS is a bit different since both Sasuke and Sakura are main characters, though it's the most negative pairing in the series. Not once did we see any Sasuke ---> Sakura. How much does Sakura know about Sasuke? She's clueless, she knows nothing. Countless times of negativity from this pairing, even Sasuke straight up declaring he has no interest in her. Sasuke is brutally honest, he wouldn't lie or hide his feelings for Sakura. Naruto's a different story. Not to mention we have Karin who I won't even explain cause it's way too much to cover.
It's just the fact that there was no NH development, negative SS development, and NS development throughout the whole story. If that's a red herring then someone please take away all writing materials from this man, because he doesn't know how to write for kitten
NH/SS has no backbone, goes against character development and kinda goes against the story's messages.
Yeah... it's a shame, really. I just don't believe at all that this is all coming from the same man that wrote this manga. One of the reasons why I think he sold out IMO. His interviews are contradicting LOL, there's no way that he decided to go with NH/SS at the end because of those reasons, because they've been debunked countless times.... isn't it wrong to have a secondary character's wishes override the MC? Anyone with sense would know that's wrong. Seriously if he's using the pity excuse as the reason why NH happened, then I wonder how many times that same idea can be applied to everything else in the manga.
God I hope someone takes away all of his pens and pencils, please never let this idiot write again...
Seriously the ending is such a joke, even a 5th grader could do better..
Ehh, you know, it's actually not that much of a stretch when you think about it...it's pretty logical actually. You'll only understand when you go through issues for a long period of time. When you hit that point of stress/pressure, you really just don't give a kitten anymore. You really, really just don't give a kitten anymore. Reminds me of what I went through this year. I can't say if that happened to Kishi, but who knows if the pressure/stress got to him and he didn't care anymore. How would he not benefit from not caring? He'd be getting a huge cheque from all of this. All these interviews/this ending, at least to me, sounds like someone who sold out due to pressure/not caring. Look at the kids for NH/SS, versions of NS/SK kids. Part 3 greed, Naruto new era project, The Last joke.. If he really believed he did nothing wrong... then I guess we blindly put our faith into a man who has no idea how the hell to write
Re Hinata's speech, I think its vague. It might be interpreted the way you have OR it might imply Hinata was ready to stop being that shy, weak girl and be more confident around Naruto. Hey, its not as if either of these interpretations turned out true in the end. Hinata never moved on and Hinata still remained that pathetic obsessive, shy girl EVEN AFTER the War ended
Rest of your post, yup pretty much agree. Though we may never find out the exact reason why Kishimoto decided to end it like this, there is no doubt he pretty much destroyed the series, the characters and perhaps even his integrity and reputation in the process.
