Since when has anyone died? I'm willing to bet Markarov will be miracle revived in the near future too. The concept of death has become a joke in this series truth be told on the level of American comic books. Not that it's a bad thing to me mind you, I just wonder what's the point of actually  "seeming" to kill someone off at this point 

It's overkill for one arc. I don't mind revival but how many cards you have to play?

It's just this arc. It's like very cluttered One Piece death but not really trick.

Currently rereading Rave Master at the moment, and I feel Natsu isn't similar to Ellie in terms of the plot of the stories, but as far as characters are concerned I think he and Ellie kinda mirror one another, and in a way I think Haru and Lucy kinda mirror each other.

I think Haru becomes more stupid as the story grows and Ellie becomes less so, or atleast that is what I remember it's been a while, so I could be remembering wrong.

I like haru more than Naruto, he and elie are perfect together, it also one of Yuri lowenthal better roles.

Oh yeah I totally agree. 

 

I was kinda surprised when i found out he did the voice for Sasuke like you hear Haru, and you hear Sasuke and they don't sound alike at all. Power of voice acting lol.. I'm not really a big fan of the anime adaptation that TokyoPop did, and I hope that some day we could a readaptation of it similar to Full Metal Alchemist did with Brotherhood. I mean when Fairy Tail does end I could see A-1 pictures try that.. I guess it's kinda a wish fulfillment for me lol. 

 

 

Also, for me I love NaruSaku, but  there's one solidifying moment of why I love Haru x Ellie a tad bit more even more so than NaLu and why it was my first OTP:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Remembering this made me wish that Naruto and Sakura had a scene like this together.

Ya both Gale and igneel deaths were both great. Is that haru and elie moment from after Gale dies and king is beat? I wish they would redo rave master like brotherhood. I agree with you on Yuri' s acting he's a great va but sasuke is his worse though Yuri is the only positive I can give Sasuke but the writing gives him nothing to work. Both the Prince of Persia and Cecil from ff 4 are his best roles especially the two thrones as the prince even towards the end of the game. I remember hearing a quote from dissida Cecil has "if all you have is power, you are powerless" hearing that come out of his mouth and remember that's sasuke.
Also didn't something this happen with Gray and juvia after tartaros was beat and that juvia killed the necromancer that kept his dad Alive which was a good moment for the two and you'd think something like this would happen when jiraya died sakura could go to his grave and see naruto and the scene could be like with haru and elie were naruto just breaks down in sakura' s arm and she confronts him.

It's a powerful scene for sure, and I think this in a way did solidify Gruvia especially with the events now. 

 

 

I know right like it pains me to see how Kishi couldn't even think about putting that... Plus his whole excuse about its Shounen manga argument is just dumb cause  Rave Master is shounen and that managed to blend the shounen action genre with romance perfectly. Heck, even Fairy Tail's doing a better job at combining the two, even if it doesn't always come out perfectly.

So I decided to do a little digging at the volumes we have currently with The Alvarez Arc  just from reading the afterwords section, and found some interesting things: 

 

 

 

Volume 52: 

 

•  The Alvarez Arc begins 
• ​It could possibly lead into the final battle with Zeref
• The editor suggested on have only 5 to 6 Spriggans, but Hiro insisted on keeping at 12. 
• There's a secret reason behind why it's specifically 12. 
• Hiro and his editor were still deciding on how the plot twists were gonna unfold. 

 

Volume 53: 

 

• Hiro incorporated the scenes from Fairy Tail Zero into Mavis's flashback for those who didn't read Fairy Tail Zero to understand it, but insists they still check it out. 
• The Mavis and Zeref relationship was planned a long time ago.
• Originally he wanted to show Mavis and Zeref kiss, but due the way her body was, Hiro then chose to make it silhouette because he felt it was more beautiful and effective. 
• Confirms that despite her appearance, Mavis is very much an adult. 
• Mentions that Precht (Hades) came to learn about the dark side of magic while he was doing the research that led to the creation of Fairy Heart. He used this knowledge to create Grimoire Heart.

 

Volume 56: 

 

• The Historia of the Dead is something he's been holding back for a long time.  He personally likes it, but was torn on using it because at points the story reinforced a system where if people die they can't come back like Simon, Ur, Igneel, and Silver.
• States he's not really bringing back dead characters like Simon or Ur because they were very emotional scenes. Hiro didn't want to undermine that so he handled those scenes with care with The Historia of the Dead Magic.
• for Hiro "someone who dies can't be brought back to life" is an absolute, like its a Fairy Code.
• States that if someone is confirmed did within context of the story he has done with full intentions.
•  He knows there are alot of characters who won't die. 
• Jacob is based on an actor he likes alot, but didn't want to make him too much like that. 

 

Volume 57: 

 

• Hiro planned out the chapter titles from 483 to 490 as a countdown.
• The countdown was to coincide with appearance of Zera from Fairy Tail Zero. 
• He knows some people will be confused with Zera, but wrote it to where they can still enjoy it without reading Fairy Tail Zero, but still tells them they should check it out. 
• Knows that some people won't trust him with the fake Gajeel death, and mentions it'll happen again. 

 

 

SO far that's about all i've gathered when it comes to what Hiro has said about the current arc, i didn't include volumes 54 and 55 because there wasn't anything mentioned when it came to the arc. Still it is quite interesting to hear some of the stuff from behind the scenes with Hiro.  Also i know the fake out deaths have occured a little too often in this arc, but unlike Kishi at least Hiro Mashima is being honest about some of the decisions that the story is taking. I'll make another post on the Volume 58 afterword when that volume comes out in a couple weeks.  Also Juvia's sacrifice attempt didn't happen until volume 58.

Well they're showing off Carla's timeskip design when she swaps back and worth between Exceed and Human...That does scream spoiler for those who haven't read the manga and since it would've been revealed in the next episode if the anime was still going.

 

 

Hopefully based on the character designs we'll be getting the anime back soon, this might be me, but Gray's clothing feels kinda off idk. 

 

 

 

Also the Half-dragonize form is one thing to take note of for Natsu, whether or not the movie will be canon is still left to be seen.. which hopefully we get revealed on that info too.

Hmm you know, as much as I love Erza in the latest chapter she shows such hypocrisy that it annoys me that fact that Makariov gave up his life to protect his "children" is something to be admired, But if it's an enemy She has to get on her high horse and preach to them about how you have to live with your comrades? Not to mention that she was criticizing her self for tryng to do that EXACT SAME THING since the Tower of Heaven arc. This is JUST PLAIN STUPID HYPOCRISY. Don't get me wrong she is still one of my favourite characters in the series bar none, but I pretty sick of that Protagonist cenetred moraility regarding her and she is always right in what she says because of "Creator's pet status." It's well into "Uchiha level" bad right now although at least this just is for an individual and not an ENTIRE  FAMILY

That's exactly what I said in my live reaction.. 

 

I would've much rather have Natsu stop him as oppose to him sacrificing himself and then comeback to life similar to what happened with Gajeel and Juvia in this arc so far. 

 

 

Also does anyone think we're in the final arc since Natsu and Zeref are about to fight and with Acnologia showing up, or do you think somehow the fight between Natsu and Zeref gonna be prevented and we will get one more final arc?

 

 

Cause right now I could see it going both ways. I guess it just all depends on what happens next chapter.

I'm not denying that, I'm merely wondering why even bring it up if he can't die, and Natsu always stops him in the end, whether it be physically or Gray just brings up Natsu in his head before he stops
