I think people here overestimate Kishimoto's writing skills the man is just that bad, I too tought that maybe Kishi did what he did for money or because people around him told him X and Y were more popular than Z but altought that played a part the truth of the matter is that was Kishi's choice. The characters before Pain Arc were multifaceted after Pain arc they were reduced to obsessed freaks (Obito, Naruto, Sakura, Hinata, Sasuke) for no logical reason, everything was turned upside down and criminals psychopaths mass murderers and traitors were rewarded for their behaviors, the tone has clearly changed when before we were told "Those that break the rules and regulations are scum. But those who abandon their comrades are worse than scum.", well Obito and Sasuke were never ever considered scum on the contrary they were praised and excused for killing innocents and betraying their comrades. The villains became a joke, Obito Madara the Juubi Kaguya never ever felt a threat or were interesting characters compared to Pain and the Akatsuki in general, they were just uninteresting flat characters, the plot became all about destiny handed power up and hard work was a thing of the past . Is that really a coincidence that everything turned for the worst as soon as his first editor left ? What we loved about Naruto and NaruSaku was never Kishi's work, Kishi's work was NH and SS aka one sided obsessed shallow and selfish feelings.
If that wasn't for this Yahagi guy this manga would surely never be a success and I can understand Kishi want to ride and milk the franchise as much as he can because he will never have another chance to make a successful manga (execpt if he has someone that helps guide him in the right way), Kishi's talent is his ability to create a great world and great characters he just lacks the ability to develop them properly because Kishi is an awkward man with little understanding of human psychology a sexist view of women and very dubious moral values (I'm being generous here).
The last 250 chapters or more are Kishi's unaldutered work and that's why the manga became so mediocre. Don't look for conspiracies sometimes the answer is much more simple and in this case it's simply because Kishimoto is an awful writer, I'm not even sure I can him call that since he doesn't even respect basic literature tools, he's just a hack who had the chance to be well surrounded.

I'm just posting the link, So just like you, I don't whether it's true or not ! But I'm gonna believe that it's legit !
another thing I found on NF, for the ones who are interested :
It seems like 3 new movies have pushed The Last to 5th place.
Yokai watch is first and big hero 6 is second now.
And :
12/20-21 box office released on 12/25. stay tunedAlso, it's already surpassed "Blood Prison" (800,000,000 Yen), "Will Of Fire" (1,020,000,000 Yen) and "Lost Tower" (1,030,000,000 Yen) with ONLY 2 WEEK? A movie runs around 2 month, so if this keeps up than surely will surpass Road To Ninja (which I still can't understand how could it sell this much while even Will Of Fire is better than that).
It's still just 2 weeks, but "The Last" has already reached 1,039,000,000 Yen! A movie runs for 2 months, so 1 month and 1-2 weeks still before the final box office!
About box officies, here's the previous movies's final box officies:
1.Ninja Clash In The Land Of Snow = 1,370,000,000 Yen
2.Legend Of The Stone Gelel = 1,180,000,000 Yen
3.Guardians Of The Crescent Moon Kingdom = Couldn't find it
4.First Shippuden Movie = 1,210,000,000 Yen
5.Bonds = 1,160,000,000 Yen
6.Will Of Fire = 1,020,000,000 Yen
7.The Lost Tower = 1,030,000,000 Yen
8.Blood Prison = 800,000,000 Yen
9.Road To Ninja = 1,480,000,000 Yen
10.The Last = still running in the cinemas
I couldn't find the final box office of "Guardians Of The Crescent Moon Kingdom" (third Naruto movie).
I think that "The Last will be between "Ninja Clash In The Land Of Snow" and "Road To Ninja", or nearly as "Road To Ninja". Speculators say that it will reach the 2 billion, but I don't think that. Well, one and half month is still before the final box office. Good luck for the movie.

We really need to make more contact with the Japanese fanbase to find out what's real and what is just people spreading rumors.

- Kishimoto’s assistants said that they believe Narusaku was a more logical ending but Kishi made NH because of personal reasons (fans in Twitter posted tweets about rumours that it was all because of SP and the western fanbase)
How coincidental is it that The Last is already being prepped and ready for the theatres in four different confirmed countries? Three being Western countries with a heavy NH presence in them. I believe there's some legitimacy to these allegations - at least when it comes to the theory about Pierrot turning towards the West for the series' future when their home country is so bitterly divided over their handiwork.

Hmmm....well...I am convinced now.
Before Kishimoto's father died he created Road to Ninja. A movie about family, bonds, and and real love and care. The movie was a hit and chances are his father saw it. After his father's passing, I am convinced Kishimoto just gave up. All the interviews, the words he speaks, it doesn't feel like him. There is no passion in his words and all he speaks now is in circles. Everything makes little sense and now we have this.
I am certain Kishimoto is utterly depressed and lost all will to create. With Naruto, maybe he had a connection with his father through it. I don't know. When his father died, so did Naruto. So Kishimoto just kept writing and writing and writing. Putting whatever on the page to suit his investors. He stopped caring and let others take control. He let them ruin Naruto and now he is just saying whatever answers that come to mind to "explain things." This whole "Hinata is most popular" was nothing more than a fabrication by SP. The movie, the ending, it all was just a huge fabrication by SP themselves because Kishimoto just didn't have a heart to finish it.
He was just a robot who followed orders and probably fed his depression through the likes of Obito which explains why Obito's insanity seems so....genuine. Yeah, people will say it doesn't make sense, but depression does that. What doesn't make sense to you, will make sense to them. I know, I live through Bi-polar disorder.
It makes me feel sorry for Kishimoto. Maybe he is torturing himself. Maybe he just stopped caring. I don't think it is about the money anymore. If it was, he would have done so many things differently. SP was all about the money, but I believe Kishimoto just stopped caring. He just hates himself now which is why Naruto looks so bad now. Why Naruto is not the same anymore. Kishimoto changed due to depression and now Naruto has to. It explains also the lackluster kind of depressing ending.
You know this could be it. Depression can affect people differently. Thing is we really don't know what the hell happened.
We can only speculate in order to try to understand this.
Until he comes out and says something truly honest, not the crap that he's being saying in the last two months which makes no sense. We won't really know what really happened.
Nah. Even if everythng tanks, they're committed to the new movie and the series. They should already be in production on both. Slots for both should already be reserved — the movie within the movie line up for releases at the end of next year, and the manga in SJ. The movie's release can be easier delayed than than the manga too. The manga is set up for print, for a certain number of pages, so they can't even flake out on a single page. It all has to be delivered, in its entirety, to the manga by the printing deadline. They won't just have another manga of exactly the right size to fit into the slot.
So what I'm saying is that even if the whooooole ending/movie gambit had tanked (which we know it didn't), they were already obligated to the Bolt manga and the movie. And by this point the storylines have been written, and they're already knee deep in production. To capitalize on the buzz they've created, they've got to keep things coming out a fast clip.
We, the fans, are at a disadvantage because we are still reeling from how they've dismantled the series. But the reality is the people who put out Naruto (including Kishimoto) have already working on the next series.
That's why I think there will be no hint of NS or revising the end of the series. No matter how much fans complain or sales slip. They are committed to this path. More than we, as mere fans, could ever understand. The marketing that we are witnessing now is only the tip of a very large iceberg. Naruto is no longer a story — it's a brand. It is a very, very big business.
And honestly, I think they are banking on gaining new fans instead of retaining the old. That's why they've made such a break with the story, ending the manga when clearly they weren't ending Naruto's story, and calling the movie "The Last" when clearly it wasn't.
Yes they're committed with the continuation and they will do it. But it's going to happen exactly like I said in my rant "Who benefits from this ending?" because what they effectively did was said screw off to everyone that followed Naruto and now they're hoping that name alone for the continuation will attract new people. Sorry but that's not going to work.
What I am trying to say is that Kishimoto has basically went against even himself and his own words over the 15 years in the last two months. You really want to believe him now? You really believe that everything he says now is 100% truth, no lie, this is how it was since the beginning?
Alright. Personally speaking, the only thing I know at this point in time is that nothing is true anymore. Not even the fandoms that follow it. Most are just posers who cared more about pairings than they did about anything else and they hide behind their insults to cover up their insecurities knowing full well their biased views make them utterly narrow-minded.
I also know that people can use words to make anything a reality. The moment you start believing what Kishimoto is saying now is the moment that you start accepting this pitiful excuse of an ending.
So if Kishimoto wanted to say that Obito was the main character the whole time....there is nothing to prove him otherwise since at this point everyone is so willing to believe anything now. Which is the sad reality of it all. It's so easy to all this stuff AFTER the fact than it is during it.
Terms of the year:
-Deus Ex Machina
-Convenience
-Manipulation.
I love you man. Not in that way.
I personally don't believe anything that Kishi says anymore. It's nothing more than damage control. The fact that he has to spend so much time trying to explain himself only proves how bad the ending really is.
I'll still listen to what he has to say, if only to get a good laugh out of it.
![]()
It's not even damage control. It's just damage.
Every time he opens his mouth he says something damaging.
Which I've told you - time and time again - is dangerous! There will never be consensus, son, among those you have helped to ascend. They will all differ in their views of what it means to be free. The peace you so desperately seek does not exist.
These men are united now by a common cause. But when this battle is finished they will fall to fighting amongst themselves about how best to ensure control. In time it will lead to war. You will see.

And you know what...is kind of working...on me...sort of. I mean I heard part 3 is not being written by Kishimoto.

I doubt the assistants would say anything to undermine Kishimoto's decisions. Without concrete evidence, I would disregard any such rumour as false.
