I don't see how your argument is any better. Parallels in this manga aren't exactly meaningful either way.

Personality is personality, let it alone, some people have same personality too, but exactly same situation in manga, often means something, isn't it? Yeaaaah, another Naruto in this aspect

My thoughts. IchiRuki had STRONG friendship but no romantic undertones like NS did. We knew for a fact that Sakura had feelings for Naruto and vice versa. However, Rukia never showed in romantic feelings not even a hint for Ichigo. I can even say that the friendship was stronger then IchiHimes normal friendship.

 

With Ichihime it was different and I wish ya'll could see it. Ichigo treated Orihime differently than Rukia. As I said before it wasn't romantic yet it felt like it especially when Ichigo was fighting Grimmjow and Ulquiorra for her. They had many moments then.

 

EDIT: Add to the fact that Inoue was the ONLY one to able to sense Ichigo's reatsu when he was training with the visords.

Highly doubt the spoilers tbh. IH doesn't make much sense at all, honestly, since the only development they have is Orihime emotionally chasing after Ichigo, who has always really ignored her in favor of Rukia. After all the things Kubo has said, not going IR would be ridiculous. And unless I'm missing some kind of Japanese fetish where wanting to murder, or helping to sentence your soon to be spouse to death is a good thing, then Renji and Rukia together makes zero sense and is really gross. Especially since they have zero development to begin with anyway

I'm not that upset tbh, I always preferred Rukia personally because I like that fiery type of anime character more. But I never really saw anything romantic from either side, just close friendship. :/ The other thing that made me prefer Rukia is that to me it seemed like his friendship with her was closer than with Orihime, so if the latter was going to be his partner for life Kubo should've changed that a bit. But Orihime she was super in love with Ichigo so I guess (romantically) onesided was better than zerosided, and that's why I figured Ichigo would probably end up with her. The other reason it made sense was because I think Ichigo would be happier in the real world, and Rukia in the Shinigami world, so they should marry people from there.

 

I don't quite get Renji x Rukia tho, I felt it was a case of pair the spares. At least the Ichihime kid has someone to play with from the other world. Two main characters, one from each world that's great.

 

At least the art is still good! Ichigo looks 30 and not like a dried apricot right? And Orihime is nothing like Hinata, the only thing they have in common is boobs. :/ She cares about all her friends, she is bubbly, outgoing, and sweet to everybody even her enemies. And she is a fleshed out main character, Bleach has two female leads so she's not just like one of the K9.

Sorry, but the moment from FullBringer Arc overpowered it too much. That's the problem. Kubo didn't balance it well, even if IchiRuki was always meant to be friends. If anything, Togashi did it right with Yu Yu Hakusho by establishing romance in the very beginning and the rest will remain the way it is, instead of being lost in the shuffle.

Not gonna lie though outside of pairings, I smell Jump's fingerprints all over how things have been going for Bleach atleast since we got the announcement that the manga was ending "soon." The biggest being the chief in editor at Weekly Shounen Jump "has the final say" on where each series is ranked every week. Which again is bs. Don't believe me, look at the author's notes in One Piece Volume 48 or 49, Oda has even stated this. 

 

 

Plus everyone should keep in mind that for a very long time Kubo and Shounen Jump haven't been in the relationship whatsoever that includes with his editors too.  Unlike Kishi I feel Kubo does legitimately care about his series, but Jump went to far. If anyone has read Bakuman that series should give some kinda explanation of what Mangaka have to go through in Weekly Shounen Jump. Honestly if Jump just allowed Kubo to continue at his pace then whatever ending we get with this final chapter will instantly be overshadowed with what Kubo had intended cause there are way too many In story voids to even consider this an ending.  

 

 

I'm not gonna lie I can't wait for what Kubo has to say when he gets interviewed with the ending of bleach, the same way Kishi did when Naruto came to an end.

 

 

 

This is why, after the the last chapter, I'm done taking shipping seriously anymore, especially in shounen.

 

I knew IchiHime had moments, but the fact that IchiRuki was also popular as well, should be telling on how executed the IchiHime vs. IchiRuki was. The only difference was that Kubo halfheartedly implemented romantic tones whereas Kishi made it a subplot. I won't say IchiHime made no sense, but from what Kubo has given me, and the anime and movies, I viewed IR making much more sense than IH. 

 

I also agree; despite NS making more sense, my only gripe from officially seeing it canon was Sakura herself. Kishi never wrote Sakura out of her feelings for Sasuke for me to 100% see NS as canon. I was mainly at 80% simply because Kishi did write Sakura viewing Naruto in a more romantic light. But later on, with the confession, 5 Kage, 540, 615, I was more confident in an open ending than NS. 693, for me was the official confirmation that and open ending was the only way to go; by then I was at 30% for NS. 

 

This is is the same thing I'm feeling with Bleach, the last arc, any IR moments were pretty much nonexistent, than I seen the IH moments...

 

Whatever, I'm just a little salty for shipping them for so long. There was a lot of problems in Bleach, but just like Naruto, what kept me going was pairings for the last arc; I always go fanfiction for missing plot. 

 

Im just so done; I realize that in shounen, based on what I've read, the romance can go anywhere. I'm going shoujo for romance; also avoiding any love triangles. For shounen, I'll become any other neutral. 

 

I know the feeling, I will say  that my Hero Academia (even though it's still kinda new) is weaving the romance element well, and unlike most manga with the romance, feels very genuine. I can't say for certain what the future holds,  but it's got potential for sure.

 

 

That's how I felt about NH too. Y'see, I was a NH fan at first, but after 615, that although I had hoped for NS, I pretty much accepted it was going to happen. But like you, the movie made me lose respect for it. Especially the fantastic guilt trip down Hinata's mary sue memory lane.

 

I know right like it was heavily assumed that Naruto and Hinata got close after the war, and it came to The Last it's back to square one like.. ugh no comment.  Here is what i think would've made The Last better.  It's funny how people say that if NaruSaku happened we would've loved it, and I say hell no cause the story would still be the same. It's like taking a specific creme that tastes bad, and covering it in a candy shell that's what it would be. So no I wouldn't be satisfied if NaruSaku was the pairing focus in the movie cause the story in general was kitten.

 

 

Here's how I would've done it actually have Naruto and Hinata spend time with each other at the start of the movie showcasing that yeah they've gotten closer.  Let it actually develop like is it so wrong to have  a character move on from one girl to another cause that's how life works. If anything that makes it more relatable if you would've just had Naruto move on from Sakura to Hinata, and show legit development from the start.  

 

For one: 

 

Hinata is more confident in talking to Naruto, and does everything she can to be their for him. Maybe the only thing have her be a little shy when it comes to confessing her feelings. Would it be annoying like really two years and you still haven't confessed? Sure I would agree, but at least The Last could've showcased that outside of her feelings for Naruto, Hinata has changed. Hell, I would've even had it to where instead of Sakura playing matchmaker it was Hanabi. That to me would've made more sense because you could also captalize on the bond between sisters. Then when Hanabi gets kidnapped make that a motivation for Hinata to go after and save her as well as having Naruto tag along just cause he knows Hinata's there for him, and have him be there for her. This way not only let NaruHina develop genuinely (kinda), but also showcase that sisters are there for one another like idk... Frozen... 

 

 

Man if this was what we got for The Last I would've instantly been like it's a good+  sure it's got some problems, but I would've considered that it did what it need to do. Showcase that Hinata has matured as a character, have a great relationship with her sister, and show that she's there for Naruto.  But nope we got a pile of kitten.  Haha wow,  I just had to get that out of me!

No, he doesn't treat Orihime special at all. There are multiple times that he ignored her in favor of Rukia, including in Hueco Mundo. When Rukia was fighting and losing against Arraniero, he forgot Orihime even existed, which is funny because when he felt Chad lose, he kept on going. He even told Grimmjow that he wasn't in Hueco Mundo for Orihime, he was there to bear everyone's asses

Eh, it's not like IH is NH, where there was no interaction or anything, but for me personaly it always was like "Kurasaki-kun" *He saves her* "Kurasaki-kun" *He saves her* not much other than that I can remember, bu that's probably just me.
