All the trailer shows is Menma and Hinata next to each other( with Menma looking away from her), while Sasuke is trying to give a flower to Sakura.( however the scene changes before we can see if she accepts it, or not.)

 

There's no telling how far they will go for these couples, but it seems like they're doing everything in their power to keep NS from interacting.

Ugh, I never liked Sasuke. At all. There are so many examples of his type of character I could list that are waaay better written. But that could probably go for all the characters. I don't really like any of them anymore, they're all butchered.

I  think its pretty obvious that Kishi actually had not part in the writing of the last. Its a straight out copy and paste of the first shippuden film. Obviously, he only took care of the designs and slap his name to the film to hype it up. Road to Ninja was clearly penned by him. You can feel the love and passion he put in (he admitted that the parental theme really pleases him). The family and themes are really handled well and feel consistent with the main series. Naruhinas still hate Sakura that she was a kitten in the beginning... Hello ?! Her parents said extremely embarrassing things about her in public ! Any normal person would get upset and say nonsensical things when they are under their emotions. I am pretty much quoting Red letter media here. Its classic super hero action and science fiction opening that sets up the main characters who are down on their lucks and things are not working well. The reason is that mainstream audience (the film is a way to introduce people into the series) needs a normal someone to connect with especially in an environment that is kinda weird and not real. It really tends to work best for this genre and the series was constructed on that basis. The couple will be eventually confronted to an ordeal (the reality change with the bad guys) and if we like them we hope they'll succeed. The drama and the film is the result of us rooting for them against opposition. Eventually, they will reach the lowest point (naruto not remembering who he is and his parents saving them Back to the future style) and eventually succeed against all odds (by doing something similar to his dad) and its satisfying from where they started (Naruto getting along with Iruka as his father figure and Sakura's reconciling with her parents much like a Goofy movie). It feels like a change its called an arc and the hero gets the girl as icing on the cake.

 

The last pretty much to undoes the basis of the story and its characters to create a whole new story and female lead and retcons everything which is kinda of disrespectful to the creators of the series. In addition, shoving us that they are in love instead of developing and feel their love in a that doesn't feel contrived, and forced.

 

Kishi's post ending interviews are filled with contradictions and retcons non stop. Kojima's interview after MGS4 which is like the conclusion of the series are incredibly consistent with what happened in his games such as the theme of a son surpassing his father that could be considered as a giveaway on how the series end. He understands perfectly the difference between the japanese audience and the american audience such as their taste in their ideal hero (Japan loves young and effeminate looking male lead). More importantly, the importance of surprising your audience for a good reason and your fans understanding the messages of your story (he did not hesitate to call them out).

Sasuke is a big part of the reason why these characters were butchered. I don't think it's possible for anyone to tell me he made Naruto and Sakura into better characters. Not one bit.

 

I'd go as far to say Sasuke's the reason is the reason NS didn't happen. Sakura couldn't move on from him, for whatever reason, and they used Naruto-Sasuke rivalry as a scapegoat to completely extinguish Naruto's feelings for Sakura.

 

He's the one character in the series that I just wanted to see go away, but instead Sasuke eclisped Naruto as the main character and now he's never going away because SP knows he's a big part of the money making machine. That's been made pretty clear by the success of the Boruto movie.

True he is one of the characters the other is Hinata I mean think about it if Hinata and Sasuke were never made BOOM this would have been a far better manga and Anime.
