So...3rd drum lesson. Sychronizing both my right leg and arms. Seemed to be piece of cake at first, I ended up messing up a lil bit but my teacher said I am good =) Gotta buy a metronome now and... start practice on 15(!!!) excersises.

Err... she's talking about percussion drum here, not the one used for marching band.

Well, thats why WE do it XD

PS: Oh Sakura, one more thing. If you really wanna play drum seriously, I also recommend you to get an earphone or headphone, preferably ones with noise isolating function. IM later if you want some recommendations for it

UPDATE

Guys, guys, guys....THIS WAS THE MOST AWESUM DAY EVER.... My drum instructor says I have got skills and I am very good (after all I played a tab I have never seen or practiced on before very, VERY well) and... I GOTTA BUY A DRUM SET AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

AND THAT'S GREAT!

Coz since this is an ORDER now, my parents can't deny! And he found a great e-drum set for me~ AND I AM SO HAPPY!!!! a_dance.gifa_dance.gif

*jumps on bed* Hyper mode is on... XXD

Oh, well... And the embarrassing moments of the day: An AWESOME, FUNNY, EXTREMELY COOL fall in the class room with my special clumsy style! XXD Plus, while me and two friends (a boy and a girl) were going back home we met the parents and some friends of that boy (who is just my friend, although nobody believe us) and the best friend of his father was like: Oh, is this your new gf? Good job.

And.. as you may know....THIS PHRASE WAS ENOUGH TO PISS ME OFF MORE THAN ANY TIME OF MY SCHOOL LIFE!! AAARGH! arg.gif

I was like: WHAT ARE YOU SAYING?! I AM NOT HIS GF!!! rawr.gif

And he was so calm...laughing at me.... and... I was about to TOTALLY freak out! I mean, isn't it NORMAL to be friends-only with a boy? SERIOUSLY..WTF... argh1.png

And I was soooo very angry til my drum lesson...but then I calmed down completely. Although one of my drumsticks ended up under a car. XD Anyway.

Hehe just teasing. It's awesome that you can have a good guy friend like that. I used to have guy friends when I was younger but by HS they mostly wanted too much or nothing at all to do with me. rolleyes.gif

@ Nee: Phew, I was about to freak out again XXD I guess that getting along with girls that talk about gossip , tv series and boyfriends all day long is a hard task. So I stick with either MATURE boys (I can't have a single conversation with the immature ones) or girls older than me. In general, I prefer being with adults for a reason. And I have been like this since I was 1. Believe it or not. ._.

@ Mr. Jar (this will be your nickname XD): Um..Long story. While going to the Music School for my lesson a storm started, so I opened my bag to grab my umbrella and the drumsticks fell out of my bag. One of them landed in from of my foot. The other one..oh, well... under a car. And catching it was IMPOSSIBLE. So...new drumsticks now. After all, I would buy a new pair soon coz I could see a small crack on one of them...

Thats why I told you to get a carbostick or fiberstick instead... wooden stick shatter too easily. and... don't get cheaper sticks, most of the time they aren't even worth it, they are either easily broken, bend or just plain and simple uncomfortable to use (if you're unlucky, the finish might even be quite rough which can be VERY dangerous for your hand) I recommend getting a fiberglass stick instead coz they are VERY durable (though carbo is still more durable).

If you're afraid of losing it, get a stick holder while you're at it preferably one that you can just strap or clip on your jeans so that you won't lose/drop it anymore (Price-wise, they usually pretty cheap, around 10-20 dollars and you can get a leather one already) fyi, I don't recommend putting your sticks inside a bag really, coz bags tend to be quite easily to get squished of tossed around which may result to your stick broken (or bend).

I think it would be better to strap them on my jeans. Well, no fibreglass sticks or carbosticks in my town :/ I bought Pro-Mark again. I guess I will get a pair of carbosticks when I go to a bigger city around here to buy my electronic drum set. Thanks for everything =)
So.. Boring update
Guys...I can't understand piano theory . And YES I learn how to play the drums and I also learn PIANO THEORY. So my instructor said we HAVE TO make a class ONLY FOR DRUMMERS. I mean.. piano theory? THAT SUCKS. I want to butt in the headmaster's office and start yelling at her! B-I-T-C-H. The fact that you want us to learn CLASSICAL MUSIC (and trust me, this is the reason why almost EVERYONE in the music school learn the same things about theory...which means PIANO theory) doesn't mean that you will turn rock music lovers and drummers into piano players! NO MADAM! YOU WON'T DO WHAT YOU WANT! I HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE WHAT I WANT TO LEARN. AND I WANT TO LEARN ABOUT THE DRUMS, NOT THE F*** PIANO!!! 'KAY?

Phew, that feels waaaay better now.
F*** piano. I want the drums. And I have got skill, I am good at playing the drums I can become a drummer, nobody has the right to prevent me from making my dream come true!! (And this is also for anyone out there that finds WEIRD the fact that A GIRL learns how to play the drums.)

Hahahaha, well, thats the bad thing about learning from tutor or school really. There is VERY few schools that offer specialized music classes, most of them just concentrate on one thing that the rest just goes secondary. Though to be fair, piano theory IS the basics for all music instruments (Yes including guitars, saxophone, etc)

Well, I'm not exactly sure what is the difference between piano class and piano theory class (ignore me, I'm from the US) but piano music doesn't have to be classical. For instance, Stevie Wonder. Ever heard of him?

And learning piano would also help you learn keyboard.

Although I do understand wanting to focus solely on drums at the moment. I didn't want to learn violin until I improved on my flute.

Yes, but we are learning about MELODY! I don't need melody! Or notes!! I need rhythm! And damn, they have told us nothing about it!

I know dear. But we have to learn classical piano theory! There are also modern piano lessons, but everyone learns the same theory. And... let me explain you: you practice on the instrument you want to learn (eg: the drums, the violin, the bouzouki) and study PIANO theory no matter what. These things (practice and theory) are completely separate: with different teachers, with different books, with EVERYTHING DIFFERENT. Oh, and I don't wanna learn keyboard XXD

END OF STORY

XD

So...update. mellow.gif

My friends want to make me girlish. They don't force me of course, but they try extremely hard to make me stop being tomboish. Naaah, they won't understand that this is my style. They have been trying for 2 weeks to make me paint my nails (yuck...). Need to say I refused? XD But I still had fun... Oh my, how can I keep a straight face while my best friend was yelling like crazy saying I should be like other girls, blah, blah... He was like this emoticon: argh1.png LOL, how I love these moments. He becomes extremely funny when he gets angry... XXD

And... I practiced on my tabs today. And did excellent! w00t! And studied Maths (YUCK), Chemistry (YUUUCK!), Literature (luv it~), Ancient Greek Language (YAY!), German (...) and.. Piano theory, which I actually didn't study coz I feel asleep on the book. Guess how boring it is. XXD
