Coach True's Press Conference:

Sorry man, but that vid never gets old, so any chance I can to post it.... biggrin.gif

Look on the bright side, you started 0-2 last year and won the whole thing, so PLAYOFFS!

I like this one better:

Um Nee-sama, you know I was just joking, right? You don't HAVE to try for the Kick to the Groin award every week....

Week Two Quick Recap

True Miracles (True) 52.55
Tokyo Raiders (roninmedia) 129.75
-Deja vu indeed, True. Deja vu. However, you don't have Tom Brady this year....

The Generals (Nuclear Raven) 79.75
Jersey Shore (Mik3) 105.00
-Looking at the final score, you wouldn't know that only three points separated them going into the Monday Night game. But when your 2nd and 3rd highest scorers are the Tennessee Defense and Fred Jackson, you didn't have a great game.

Fumbles (Nate River) 117.40
Gama Warriors (Nee-sama) 114.15
-I don't really need to recap this one, just look at the last page or two of this thread. LOLMorstead-no-Hartley, and a couple of dud performances from Ricky Williams and Mohammed Massaquoi doomed our favorite amphibians.

The Golden Thumbs (Rick/Bonta-kun) 113.35
Paradoxes (Paradox Jast) 87.80
-The Aussie grabbing LaDanian Tommlinson is starting to look better and better, and Peyton is Peyton. I'm glad McNabb had a good game though.

Zatties! (Zatren6) 100.90
Leatherbacks (Nick Soapdish) 90.35
-Remember what I said about Brett Favre and Nick's team? Even Jahvid Best's... best (/rimshot) wasn't enough to overcome a stinker of a game from The Indecisive One.

Konoha Shinobi (Sir Whirly) 61.25
Fire the fatman PLZ (Illmatic) 73.05
-A tense defensive struggle, as each team fought for yards... ah, who am I kidding? It's ugly, but Illmatic will take the W. But really. The highest scorer from this game was the St. Louis Defense.

Really. The Rams' D.

Sparky McRandomsons (jwolf0) 133.40
Dark Wulves (Burning_wulf) 118.40
-Much closer than the score would indicate. Stupid Pittsburgh D; they killed me in a different league and almost did it here too. Save me Andre Johnson, SAVE ME!

Week 2 Pick Results: 5-2
Season to date: 10-4

Week Two 'Kick to the Groin' winner: You need to ask?

I knew there would be some bad ones out of him, but not that bad. It'll be a long season until Rice gets back. Or maybe I'll just play Ryan since I would've won handily with him last weekend. Except for my first three draft picks combining for 5.55 points, I'm pretty happy with my team. It'll be nice to have a #1 receiver instead of 3 #3s. But those guys are bound to have a decent effort someday. Until then, Best just better keep cranking out the 40 point games. biggrin.gif

Well Moreno bites the dust.

I need a #2 RB. I've got Mercedes Lewis, Mario Manningham available. I'd also consider parting with Sims-Walker and Winslow depening on who the RB is.

Jwolf's Wildly Inaccurate Week 3 Predictions!

Still brought to you by coffee. Ah, coffee.

My predicted winner emboldenedededed.
Konoha Shinobi (Sir Whirly, 1-1) vs. The Golden Thumbs (Rick, 2-0)
-Line is even. Exactly even. Really.

Wow. Don't see that too often. However, Randy Moss is only projected for 9 points? That's too low, brah. We all know the Pats have nothing against putting 50 on the board, even if it isn't needed. And now I have picked against CHRISJOHNSON!!! twice in a row. I feel unclean.

Zatties! (Zatren6, 1-1) vs. Fire the fatman PLZ (Illmatic, 2-0)
-Zatties! favored by ~6

Z? My bad on Ahmed Bradshaw. Despite the fact that I doubt Beanie Wells will see too much action, I think the Cowboys will struggle to get their running game on track again this week forcing Romo and Co. to air it out. That's a longwinded way of saying I expect Dez Bryant to pick up the slack. It would be nice if the 'Phins could get the ball to Brandon Marshall though. Zatties wins a game that wouldn't surprise me if it ended up being closer than the projections say.

Fumbles (Nate River, 2-0) vs. Paradoxes (Paradox Jast, 0-2)
-Paradoxes favored by ~6

Despite the fact that I talked about the makings of a Pats/Bills blowout, the Redskins getting to play the Lambs tips the matchup in Paradox Jast's favor. (He has McNabb, Cooley, and the WAS D)
With a healthy Moreno I might feel differently, but I expect to see a heavy rotation in the Broncos backfield between Correll Buckhalter, Laurence Maroney, and that guy in the 2nd row, so anything more than 5 points from Nate's RB2 spot may be a bonus.

The Generals (Nuclear Raven, 0-2) vs. Gama Warriors (Nee-sama, 0-2)
-Gama Warriors favored by ~4

Oi. There are a lot of 4-5 point projections in this game. I feel comfortable with Miles Austin getting much more than his projected 11 points, and thus denying her a 3rd consecutive week with the "Kick to the Groin" award giving Nee-sama a victory.

True Miracles (True, 0-2) vs. FALSE MIRACLES (Mik3, 1-1)
-FALSE MIRACLES favored by 13

True is starting a RB duo of Shonn Greene and Willis McGahee. It wouldn't surprise me to see Michael Vick with more rushing yards than both of them combined.

Dark Wulves (Burning_wulf, 1-1) vs. Leatherbacks (Nick Soapdish, 0-2)
-Leatherbacks favored by ~7.5

I'm tempted to pick Dark Wulves for the upset, but Addai is questionable and I trust Austin Collie to have a better game than either Cotchery or Hester. I think Best is going to come back down to earth some, but... don't make me look bad, Brett!

Sparky McRandomsons (jwolf0, 2-0) vs. Tokyo Raiders (roninmedia, 2-0)
-Sparky McRandomsons favored by ~9

Run-DMC may end up having a better game than Jamaal Charles, but I really think Malcom Floyd is undervalued here today. As long as Cincinnati doesn't lay a stinker of a game defensively, I like my chances.

Season pick record to date: 10-4

Nice game. You proved the haters (Sparky) wrong. Again. Everyone but your own coach picked you to lose and you didn't. In celebration I'm going to hire a "stripper." Now, the commish might not approve of me getting a real one for you, but I did the next best thing and I'm sending him to Sparky....

Doubtful. I picked up Peyton Hillis, even read that he would be starting Sunday morning, and left him on the bench. Of course, he went on to score 24 points from 3 touchdowns and 144 rushing yards. I'm on a super bad luck streak right now. shamefulcry0js.gif

Go ahead and pick me! It's not going to make any difference.

Although Favre is on a bye week so I may have a chance this time. tongue.gif If I would've started Ryan instead of Favre, I would've won the last two games.

kitten you, Green Bay. Rodgers would have had 30+ if not for everyone else making 17 penalties.

When we claim a defense, are we claiming the special teams as well or do special teams scores go with the individual players?

It goes along with the Defense. If you had Seattle's D last week, you would've gotten the 2 Leon Washington TDs, for example.
