So we should just give tax breaks to the rich companies?\ Because bush, did that, and it got us a ression.

No it did not, research it, the Federal Reserve low interest rates inflated the housing bubble in 2006, which popped in 2007, and didn't went into a critical mode until November of 2008, with the collapse of Fannie & Freddie, followed by banking collapses, followed by the complete collapse of the auto industry. The Bush's tax cuts were early in his administration, to get the economy moving again after the pop of the dot com bubble.

This recession was an old style credit crunch, were banks refuse to give credit to small businesses. That, along with the collapse of large insurance companies like AIG, caused a domino effect of epic proportions. Businesses collapsed, the flow of cash stopped, and consumer confidence declined.

And no, im not for giving tax breaks to rich companies, im for eliminating all the taxes.

I'm not quite sure what your point is.

Are you questioning his theory about the credit crunch or the Bush tax cuts?

Seesh this came from a guy who got his point from "The Fed didn't caused the Financial Bubble" by Alan Greenspan. Seesh, i mean if someone comes into your house, and takes off with your stuff, and if that someone is captured, and put on his defense, that he didn't steal your stuff, would you trust that person?

Senate bill to audit the fed.

how? Well i don't like taxes, i think they suck. I want the United States to cut down spending, have a balanced budget, a strong defense system, more open for trade, more privatization, and low government intervention. I love capitalism and the way it influences technology, such the way that a lot of households can own a computer, and a television set, the fact that we don't have to do long lines in front of the supermarket, but i hate the fact that Americans are taking it for granted.

No, but they do own more of our debt than anyone else, which is what I think she is referring to. In that regard, I'd like to add that Geitner and co. going over there and getting laughed at over the issue.

Taxes are like medicine; no likes them, but its necessary. Name ONE country that doesn't tax its people. Europe is far more heavily taxed than us, yet they seem to be doing pretty well. The strong defense system you are referring to would require a decent amount of taxation at least. Also, would you really trust private companies with social services rather than government? Prisons have became a private enterprise, and because it is now profitable to have prisoners, the prisons have become overcrowded, they keep them in as long as possible, and do nothing to rehabilitate them before release, which only leads them back. When your goal is to make money, you're not interested in providing good services to the people; you're just out to make a profit. Technology, you say? Considering that America is flunking science compared to many other countries, I doubt we have anything worthwhile to sell the world. Not to mention China seems to be making some impressive technological strides, probably because we have most of our stuff made down there, and the Russians managed to keep up with the US for a while in technology during the cold war, so I don't see how communism prevents technological growth. If the free market is truly the producer of great technology, how come I can't prevent my cellphone from disconnecting, keep my car from falling apart, or simply NOT buy a defective product. And you must have been to some awfully obscure supermarkets if you're not encountering long waiting lines. I go to places like Safeway and Trader Joe's, which seem to be doing decent at worst, and it takes forever to get through, even when there's no one around.

While it's true that the rich pay the majority of taxes, is it enough? Didn't Eisenhower make the income tax around 90% at some point in his presidency to pay off a record deficit? While I agree that taxes should not be stiffling, ideally the poor would be affected the least (therefore have more money to spend) and the rich just enough so that greed does not run rampant.

Prisons are held by state governments. We the taxpayer keep them there.

Oh so your complaining that your cellphone doesn't work, or that your car is falling appart, while children in Darfur are worried that the Jinjaweed kill off their families. And the reason that the Chinese are making better progress is because they allow for cheap labor, they're government isn't making the progress, US companies are. Oh and the only 2 cities that are making it big, are Hong Kong and Shanghai, the first who has a free style laissez-faire capitalism.

And about the taxes, trust me the reason this:

happened was due because of high taxes, and it can easily happen again, there is a reason Reagan was so popular, and Jimmy Carter and Mondale were so unpopular.

Based on what i can see here, you haven't paid taxes...is a hellhole, and you could go to prison, even if you just make a mistake. It might be unconstitutional, but lowering taxes to 1% is not unconstitutional, as a matter of fact, the founding of this nation was because Great Brittan didn't allowed the colonies to trade with other nations, and were levying high taxes to pay for their war with France.

Unless, all of you want the style of Socialism that there is in Venezuela right now, hey i moved off from over there to here, because it was a hellhole over there.

I pointed out something and you think I haven't paid Tax's yet lmao. I have paid taxes as it is part of the The United States Constitution and is the right of the government to lay taxes. You think the roads and other things that the Taxs payer paid for will be good under privet care when the Privet system is a hellhole in it self. Please, I have read the United states Constitution and go by its laws.
