Also, would you really trust private companies with social services rather than government?
Yes, yes i do.
QUOTE
Prisons have became a private enterprise, and because it is now profitable to have prisoners, the prisons have become overcrowded, they keep them in as long as possible, and do nothing to rehabilitate them before release, which only leads them back.
Prisons are held by state governments. We the taxpayer keep them there.

Technology, you say? Considering that America is flunking science compared to many other countries, I doubt we have anything worthwhile to sell the world. Not to mention China seems to be making some impressive technological strides, probably because we have most of our stuff made down there, and the Russians managed to keep up with the US for a while in technology during the cold war, so I don't see how communism prevents technological growth. If the free market is truly the producer of great technology, how come I can't prevent my cellphone from disconnecting, keep my car from falling apart, or simply NOT buy a defective product. And you must have been to some awfully obscure supermarkets if you're not encountering long waiting lines. I go to places like Safeway and Trader Joe's, which seem to be doing decent at worst, and it takes forever to get through, even when there's no one around.
While it's true that the rich pay the majority of taxes, is it enough? Didn't Eisenhower make the income tax around 90% at some point in his presidency to pay off a record deficit? While I agree that taxes should not be stiffling, ideally the poor would be affected the least (therefore have more money to spend) and the rich just enough so that greed does not run rampant.
Oh so your complaining that your cellphone doesn't work, or that your car is falling appart, while children in Darfur are worried that the Jinjaweed kill off their families. And the reason that the Chinese are making better progress is because they allow for cheap labor, they're government isn't making the progress, US companies are. Oh and the only 2 cities that are making it big, are Hong Kong and Shanghai, the first who has a free style laissez-faire capitalism.
And about the taxes, trust me the reason this:

happened was due because of high taxes, and it can easily happen again, there is a reason Reagan was so popular, and Jimmy Carter and Mondale were so unpopular.

You now THAT tAX'S s are in The United States Constitution right?
http://www.usconstit...nst.html#A1Sec8Based on what i can see here, you haven't paid taxes...is a hellhole, and you could go to prison, even if you just make a mistake. It might be unconstitutional, but lowering taxes to 1% is not unconstitutional, as a matter of fact, the founding of this nation was because Great Brittan didn't allowed the colonies to trade with other nations, and were levying high taxes to pay for their war with France.
Unless, all of you want the style of Socialism that there is in Venezuela right now, hey i moved off from over there to here, because it was a hellhole over there.
