I like to go out and party, but I do not like drinks served in a femvase (damn fruity stuff... ew), so good ol' beer is my mate. So yeah, I'm also a psychology student, so your mind interests me.

It seems Haki negates the effect of devil fruit powers to some extent. Garp is probably well trained with his Haki, and Luffy hurt from regular physical attacks from his gramps (and Nami tongue.gif), and when Garp carried him by his cheek. If Luffy learns how to do this, then prepare for rubber smack downs.

583 is out on Manga Stream now.

Ace was such a little twit, wasn't he? But it's no wonder Luffy is so strong now.

He not only received training from Garp, he also got severe survival "training" from Ace throwing him off of cliffs for three months. XD

And holy crap, Luffy trying to lie is funny as hell. He's really not designed for deception, is he? biggrin.gif

They most likely captured Sabo, which is why this is the first we're hearing of him. After that, Ace probably realized how much Luffy had come to mean to him, and they were brothers ever since.

The fact that Luffy was only crying and screaming in pain while he was being tortured just proves how tough he is. No normal seven year old would have been able to hold out after something like that. Luffy is, and shall always be, the Captain of my heart. love.gif

Bloody great chapter. I usually dislike pure flashback chapters, but there's just something really special about One Piece that makes me unable to hate it. And God damn it, Luffy was that GAR when he was 7? I'm loving this!

Wow. I was way off. Sabo's a noble child who hates the way they act, so he decided to become a pirate.I was sure he was going to die. There's still a chance he will, but if we're learning this much about him, it's also possible that he'll show up again. Luffy meeting his other brother would certainly help him get his mind back in one piece.

It was an okay chapter. It was nice to know more about Sabo and why he had that McRich top hat in the first place. Hopefully next chapter will wind up this flashback.

Someone called the cloaked man Dragon. I think this is how Monkey D. Dragon got his start as a revolutionary!

The man is indeed Dragon. If you look at his face, you can see his tattoo in several of the panels. It's very distinct.

Damn, and here I thought I couldn't hate the World Government any more than I already do. They didn't even kill those people for a real reason, just "The Celestial Dragons don't like them."

I really hope Luffy topples these corrupt jackasses before the series is over. They really need to be removed from power.

The dragon shows up and rescues people to use them for his own cause. happy.gif So this is the part where Ace and Luffy get separated for a long time.

Man that was so wrong what the pirates did to poor little Sabo. shamefulcry0js.gif This flashback has been okay but I'm actually kind of wanting it to wrap up though. sleep.gif Hopefully next chapter will be Ace and Luffy heading out to sea and more details on the start of their separation.

Saint Jalmack should face Luffy and Ace's fists of fury for what he did to Sabo. I wonder what happens next... damn week's hiatus. One Piece has been doing that a lot lately. I hope it's just so Oda can get ahead with his chapters.

Too sad. First Luffy gets separated from his nakama, then Bon-chan dies, then Ace dies, and now he's lost his eternal optimism.

I think having Jinbei around is going to be the best thing possible for him. The guy seems pretty level headed, and he has a lot more experience than Luffy does. I detect mentor time!

The last two arcs were cool and all, but I miss the other Straw Hats something fierce. I can't wait to see what new stuff they've learned since they've been gone.

And whether or not Zoro will be able to make it to where the others are gathering without needing to be led there on a leash. XD
