Yeeeeeeeeeees BD well since i was just so ~*PASSIONATE*~ about the SHIPPING, i'm pretty sure me going off on the thread and creators was just my initial shippers first-reaction to the ending. That's why i took a break from this thread; I was still seeking closure and I sure as hell knew that i wouldn't find any solace in a canon!fan populated thread XDXD Then, after awhile I got closure about the endgame (it was cute, but it still lacks teh sense to me and could've been done much better) and then came back! I'd had some analysis grouping and discussions with other super smurt obsessed zutarians over the finale AS A WHOLE, and yeah-- so much wrong with it.

And that was just doing it as a fan, not a zutarian

but yeah, shipping? I just have the scars that ~*ache*~ from time to time >u>



and I dunno if ya got really into the series, shaumama, but I'm gonna guess that those Zutara fans you "saw" (wth where? xD) were Canon!Zutarians. 8D Dem peeps are still around-- fans that haven't gotten closure and the like. I think i'm sorta like one--since i get frisky when a debate bubbles up--but just more mellowed out... and finding the rage fun

I knew Zutara wasn't gonna happen and accepted that waaaaay before the finale. I mean why else would I write a Kataang drabble without shooting myself first?

But yea while the finale was cool and all for some reason I felt as if they could've done the Kataang part a little better. I don't know what it was about it that bugged me, but eh... I'm not gonna sit around and find out. And it's not the the Zutara shipper in me that makes the scene feel weird too! xD

I helped with one of the sets. True Story, I was born in the City of Reading, Pennsylvania, and M night apparently had people scouting around philadelphia and the surrounding areas for places to film. We have a Japanese Pagoda atop of the mountain overlooking the city and they liked it. Earlier this month I went to check it out but they had roads closed to the publikc. Luckily I know a foreman from the company they hired to help out. So I got to where they were filimng but did the actors weren't there at the time and neither was M night. But I did get to help out a tiny bit, we lit some controled fires on pieces of broken wood, and made singe marks on the surrounding trees. I think the ones that got seriously damaged have to replaced though. Im not sure what exactly they did film but it was fun enough to just help out. They were gone after a few days because they are going to shoot the interior scens in philadelphia. Heres a pic of said Pagoda.

The lack of ponytail I can understand. Maybe they tried it out and it looked horrible.
Black armor is fine as opposed to red. Black always does a good job at looking evil. Red armor might have looked hilarious.

But that scar needs to be bigger and nastier. No excuses. The scar is a huge part of the story.

The soldier to the right of Zuko looks like one of the Rohirrim. lol

Personally I think it's not the matter of how it looks, it's the matter of sticking to the source material. I know for a fact I'd be (and am) more peeved at how it's NOT THERE instead of how, by chance they did go through with it, it looks bad. Already with the casting like this, the fans are on the edge with this movie. And now that they aren't providing any familiarity only the fans can get is taking a huge step backwards in ensuring an audience. Visually appeal is all they can depend on if they keep going like this (aka Katara's hair loopies, Sokka's ponytail)

More on Zuko's ponytail, you have to understand that it's just as important as his scar. Remember when he and Iroh cut off their topknots as a sign of dishonoring themselves and breaking their ties with the Fire Nation for good? Doing that is immensely significant in traditional Chinese culture. Especially in their cases; they're royalty, it's life-changing. So it's very important, regardless of how it looks.

No matter what you say, I still can't imagine this movie being epic or even bearable. D: I don't know... but I like familiarity and they just totally threw that out the window. For all we know, Sokka could be ponytail-less and Katara could have her hair down in nice waves >.< I'd mention Toph, but then I remembered that this does not cover season 2.... D:
