... I've watched about... four episodes of it so far? For some reason I stopped, but I'm planning to catch up once the anime is over.

Assassination Classroom really might not be everyone's thing though. It is a satire work, so I don't know if you'll like the humor.

I know it's famous in Japan b/c of its original concept and the bizarre nature of the manga, but yeah... Check out the first episode if you feel like it.

Does it work well for the target audience or is it just a series that just seem like it hit the right spot, like for whatever reason.

Well, in a way, this series is a slice of life. The manga depicts the everyday lives of some 30 children in a deserted classroom: Repeated murder attempts on their weird octopus teacher and personal issues (you know, Middle School students). Everything however is treated with sarcasm.

However, subconsciously, the reader/watcher knows that a lot of things are at stake. The kids are slowly running out of time, but can't get close to their teacher. At the same time, the reader wants to know why the teacher wants to blow up the earth after he has already blown up parts of the moon already.

I guess it's a good mix for people who want to follow something supernatural.

Yup the prequel is titled Attack on Titan: Before The Fall, and this is basically the summary of it:

 

 

 Humanity has learned to live in complacency behind its high walls, protected from the giant Titans. But when a Titan-worshipping cult opens one of the gates, a Titan wreaks havoc, consuming the cultists. After the rampage is over, two young Survey Corps members are shocked to discover a pregnant woman's partially digested corpse - with her baby still alive inside it! What will the fate of this "child of the Titans" be? And how will humanity learn to cope with the Titan threat?

 

 

 

just looked up the summary from Barnes and Noble cause I was kinda lazy to explain it. The other reason being if I mentioned too much about the prequel it could ruin  the experience for you. 

 

If you're interested in reading it you can find on Mangapanda so far it's got up to 10 chapters and it's monthly. Although they haven't really updated it in a while, last time they updated it was back in January of this year. So because of it I would recommend getting the volumes so far there are only 3. The third volumes ends with chapter 11 and Volume 4 actually comes out next week which will contain chapters 12-15.

 

 

I will say that the two main characters Kuklo and Sharle have really peeked my interest, and there is (so far because it's still ongoing) a pretty noticable romance side story to it, and all I can say is so far it's being developed well. That's my take on the series so far, I would say give at least the first few chapters a shot and decide from there whether to continue or not.

I'll watch HxH over the summer. Promise. It's on my number one priority list. I was seriously missing out back then when the reboot came out T_T

I noticed btw how you and unburnt often mentioned Hisoka... I think I have a crush on him He's one of the most iconic villains (?) I've ever seen. Some scenes of him had me like (but dude, what is up with his voice in the 1999 version?! Sounds almost like he has a frog stuck in his mouth).

But I'm hype for One- Punch Man! Did you see the trailer yet? I never thought about that... One-Punch Man a deconstruction of the shounen genre...

Girl I had crush on Hisoka too. For the longest time. But it started to finally sink in that the only woman he'll ever be attracted to is the thread girl. Other than that, he's only interested in men. Even worse, underage men. Annnd....he has his moments where he acts really...fruitful. But yeah, he's one of the best ambiguous villains I've ever read in a manga. 

 

Ooh, in the drama CDs he has a really cute dynamic with Gon's aunt Mito. What a weird crack couple lol. Guess you won't be able to understand this fully though until you read HxH lol!

It sounds interesting! But to AoT I'm only a anime-watcher, since I kinda dropped the manga a long time ago. Hopefully I'll pick it up!

I can understand that, I and who knows maybe they'll eventually make an anime mini series for the prequel spin off or maybe do OVAs I could see that probably happening.

I read 10 chapters and I didn't like it. This was like 2 years ago when it first came out.

I'm still upset that they didn't just leave the movie for Hollywood. This is one of those rare cases where I'd actually be more contempt with Hollywood taking over. A. The sales would go crazy if done right, B. Better Graphics, and C. The characters would actually...match the canon appearance. All Attack on Titan characters look ambiguous to me, but if they're German then I'd like them to be German in live-action. I mean, in the movies, none of the characters even look like their manga counterparts. Especially Armin. 

 

My real life headcanon is that Michael Bay or Zack Snyder would have developed the movie. I mean there's still a chance....

Though the last arcs arent that good

There is also Oyasumi Punpun ...its completely mind kittening ; Im currently reading this one
