I'm glad Kishi realized the potential of her character and that it is possible to reverse her previous bad popularity. He's not making her say lots of "Sasuke-kuns" anymore and he is exploring her abilities, which is something that was left behind before because of her so hated "obsession on Sasuke" and "uselessness". Now she has been shown caring a lot about Naruto and with a lot of the great strong attitude she always had.

Pretty much. I feel that the Sakura hate trend is slowing dying, especially after this chapter. If Kishi keeps this up the Sakura haters will be the minority.

If Kishi knows how bad he made Sasuke look, it might just be a set up to make him look bad at first but change into really badass in the next several chapters. If Kishi doesn't know what he's doing, then well Sasuke might stay this way which I find very unbelievable.

No man, will increase  sakura hates if NS becomes canon.

Or maybe NS shippers will also increase, especially when her fans who support ss notice her love for Naruto and stuff. NH, well, they're hopeless. Hinata fanboys, especially. But the majority of them already are Sakura haters so they won't increase the number that much.

If Kishi knows how bad he made Sasuke look, it might just be a set up to make him look bad at first but change into really badass in the next several chapters. I think it's foreshadowing him turning heel on Team 7. Sasuke gets jealous pretty easily, and considering the fact that he's been trashed on for this whole fight, he probably won't take to kindly to it. I mean, just a few chapters ago he was calling Kakashi and Sakura useless. Sakura ends up saving him from the other dimension, while Kakashi gets perfect susanoo which Naruto replies is "cooler than Sasuke's". Couple more chapters in, Naruto manages to rip Kaguya's arm off while Sakura actually manages to punch her, something Sasuke hasn't been able to do for this whole arc. I think he'd be pretty pissed after all that's just happened.

My problem is that she needs to be more involved, and when she gets involved don't have her going back into the background to become a commentator. Kishi has a habit of doing that and it pisses me off to no end. She's the heroine and she should be treated as such.

by your profile pic i can tell that you like Sasuke, right? Kishimoto said that he like him too, now i think this is somewhat fair, for the treathment he was giving to everyone, that might be a lesson for him, i can't believe Kishimoto doing this without purpose. if we are near to Sasuke's redemption then this is perfect for giving him reasons to do it

he has been arrogant and selfish,we all think that Sasuke just changing would be too OOC, even we think that he changing his mind about destroy the village was unbelievable. Sasuke will always do the things that he feels is the right thing to do FOR HIM FEELING BETTER, but i believe if there is a way to change his reasons these things are the only way to do it, pushing him to realize that the world doesn't revolve around him, that people only exist for his pure sake and his goals

I honestly don't see what the big problem with Sakura contributing this chapter. Naruto and Sasuke vs. Kaguya was going nowhere, so before Kaguya could try to escape again, Sakura intervened. I get that  people want more from Sakura than just a punch, cause I do too, but this is Kishi were talking about.He's given all the characters a set number of abilities and only enhances them, instead of giving them something new, for the most part. I'm glad that even though all signs pointed to Sakura sitting out of the Kaguya fight, especially after she used up nearly all of her chakra, I was proven wrong by this chapter.

 

Yes, Sakura might not do anything next chapter,  though I really hope she does, Kishi has been getting somewhat better with her being involved. She first healed he SA, then a couple chapters later, kept Naruto alive, then saved Obito from an acid dimension, while rescuing Sasuke, then we come to this chapter of her hitting the strongest person in the Narutoverse. Kishi has not made up for his poor treatment of Sakura, however he has gotten better. If by only a little bit.

Sasuke uselessness is intentional, just like what happen in naruto vs garra in chunin exam arc. Sasuke become jealous so he could go to orochimaru to get power.

Yeah but he already got a power-up and he's still useless. And right now he doesn't need to go to other people to give him power.

Great chapter. I like the way kishi subtly convey messages to his readers. It's as if he is telling his readers through series of character dialog. This is the way I see it:

Ch. 689 - Sakura: "Don't make light of me!" (punched Kaguya, a clear message to Sakura haters).
Ch. 676 - Sakura: "Sasuke-kun doesn't seem to care" (who knows what'll happen if Naruto didnt jump and took her, a clear message to SS fandom)
Ch. 662 - Sakura: "Absolutely!" (about how determined she is to save Naruto, not because the world needs him, but because she wanted to protect his dream, a clear message to SS/NH/NS fandom)
Ch. 631 - Minato: "I'm Namikaze Minato. Get ready for the blast." (the blast came and he asked the girlfriend question, literally blasting all fandoms)

You sure that's not just the boost of his raw power and not the Rinnegan? I mean Naruto moves even faster technically.

It's weird. Sasuke is almost practically featless, but we are lead to believe he is super powerful by word of mouth. Meanwhile, Naruto shows off his power several times over.

He said it there, his power is to instantly change places with something else. So from the sounds of it his Rinnigan unlocked a more advanced version of the academy learnt replacement jutsu. I think that's what he used his chapter as well, he replaced himself with the clone Naruto at the last second. If the most powerful Doujutsu gave me an advanced version of a Jutsu that kids learn in school...i'd be pretty pissed. Though if i'm honest it's kinda cool as a regular power, though i'm only saying that because I always Naruto should be using his clones and the replacement Jutsu to mimichis fathers famous Jutsu in battle.

 

Well it's common practice for Naruto to be made aware how weak he is, even the freaking Sage did it. Kishi didn't even give the guy his birthright, he got non of his fathers intelligence or his mother super cool powers, I want to see those awesome Chains dammit, and not from Karin....although Karin IN chains on the other hand.....nah she's too nutty for me, she's perfect for I can't make up my mind Sasuke. Remember Orichimaru's battle with four tails NAruto? He got knocked about all other the placehad to shed his skin a few times, yet he called him weak, yet Sasuke got his arse handed to him at the Chunnin Exams by him and he saw potential to surpass Itachi, yet Naruto had all but destroyed his giant summons.

i think what he is doing is to make clear his own work, not "message" for the fandoms
