Ok, first of all, man, I have to avoid tumblr and here for almost the whole day because I left early to the airport and never have the chance to read. So, I am finally back and to be honest, I haven't read all posts here because it was too many and I can only hope it's been resolved, judging by the first three pages. Ok, here's my thoughts.
This chapter was more of a setup chapter if anything as well as display not only the hype of this battle being all or nothing but a compare and contrast that shows how much it has changed. So, yes, I will get to that scene because many people here either don't get it or just misunderstand. Here's the thing, Sasuke pretty much saying that it's do or die and pretty much described the whole moments since Team 7 has been together again. In short, this is pure blatant answer to the world on his thoughts. In short, he needs Naruto to stop the end of the world as Sakura and Kakashi was never his intention at all. This pretty much nail tells you that Sasuke truly don't care for them at all. Again, this is the summary of everything that has been going since Team 7 got back. Or as I like to think Kishi call it, "Here, dumbkitten. This is what I mean." It's not needed to cover but I guess Kishi wants to give the world a clear picture. But again, hype chapter.
Now, Naruto's response pretty much owned Sasuke because Naruto understand the situation as well as what he means, especially coincidences. That said Naruto got the right idea that Sasuke isn't in game with Team 7 so he mocked him by referring back to the bridge, but oh well as he put it. In short, Naruto's words torched Sasuke. Naruto will just have to go with the flow since Sasuke only needs him to win the war, but even so, he will still protect anyone near him. Sasuke was once a team, but now, he's no player. This actually makes me happy because again, the panels speak volume. Remember how Naruto said that Sasuke isn't being a team player. This chapter gave him a clear picture, so it's a shame that he's not like before, but hey, save the world, right. Now as for Sakura, she understands that Sasuke really isn't being in a team because of nostalgic. He only there for Naruto to save the world under a condition, not for good time sakes. She knows it but she thanked Naruto because he is still a team player. If Naruto wanted, he could have told Kakashi and Sakura to step away, but he do what he always do.
Now just hear me out, understand that this is only the beginning. It's clear that this is a real start as the last chapter introduce Kaguya as well as choosing a new setting for the final battle. Don't act like we have been in this battle for 8 chapters because we haven't. Naruto and Sasuke are doing what they are assigned to do or rather do what Sasuke commanded, but let's see how far they can go. Honestly, it won't last a while because the idea is teamwork is going to be the answer and not just two but all that are willing to commit. Also, Hokages, including Hashirama, are finally getting ready to make their move. I don't know if they are going to Kaguya's location though Minato hinted he will. I would say it does seem to give you an idea, if only Minato, that he's going to die soon. Anyway, the formation is getting near and Naruto and Sasuke pretty much going to kill time in the eyes of the audience. Right now, they're playing Sasuke's way but how far can it go. Well, we'll see.
It was a short chapter but I enjoyed it. The more I see it, at least all is cleared from the past, so whatever SS comes up with is denied 100%. It almost felt like this is the last chapter of the volume. Though it can be the first, depend on how Kishi set it up. Again, don't act like the fight lasted 8 chapters. It only started. Well, waiting game continues as I got E3 to look after.
