Yeah, that's what I see in YouTube and comment section of opm wiki.
I think it has something to do with shipping and who is the best girl who will lead to shipping.
Eventought opm doesn't have romance compare to another work by one like makai ossan & mob pshyco.

I'm fine with shipper, but when they decide/force to put romance or the outcome of it, that's when I have a problem.

Case in point naruto.

Oh and please bring the best girl out of this. You know shipper, Not all manga is harem.

So, Metal Bat went down, but there is a chance that in last chapter his sister came for him and that will lead to comeback, One and Murata right now in OPM redrawing version shows why Bat wasn't in next arc that already finished in original.

Btw, if people don't know, there will be additional 5 OVA's one of those are already out.

But I read a summary and can re-tell what's was there if you need that.

1. One's original comics was an advice from a fellow mangaka of Murata, (it was another famous manga who give a link/advice to Murata, but I don't remember his name  ).

2. Murata read it all in one take in one night. And he was amazed by it.

3. Murata got into a hospital with some serious problems. He made a descision to draw OPM if ONE would like it, before his death.

4. After he went out from hospital with his health was solid again, he got in touch with ONE and ONE was happy about it.

5. Murata went with ONE and oneshot by him to SJ to get a publication - but SJ wasn't ok about it because Murata had some contract before that. Murata broke the contract and together with ONE they went into many publisher, but got nothing in answer with those (in print edition), than they went into Young Jump and succeded in there.

That's pretty much it. I was shocked a bit about it, that Murata took a serious descision and without clear way took a shot onto his dream, that's deserve a respect.

From ONE's side:

1. Mob Psycho (another manga of ONE that just got recently an animation confirmed in 2016) and OPM wasn't ONE's main job, he drawed them as hobby.

2. His relatives didn't want him to become mangaka.

3. He was surprised and was very happy about Murata contacting him.

So... that's what I remember pretty much.

Anyway, thank you. This was well worth it. I known Murata since Eyeshield 21. Shame that it got cancelled.

There was anouther interview two or so weeks ago about anime from Murata and ONE. But nothing really intresting in there.

They make a good team. Wish for them to do something together. I can see it happening once he's done with Mob Psycho.

Shoenn jump and young jump are under same publisher, that's shuseia.
I don't know why they need to move to seinen manga since opm is not seinen material.
Most likely they do that to give flexibility on chapter release since wsj take one week per chapter. But they could do that in jump sq, a monthly shonen manga.
