I went to read Narutopedia just to see what the fuss was about. Gotta say, I totally understand now why some of you were upset. They completely overplay Hinata's relationship description to Naruto, to the point of including filler, freaking filler. Then where the hell is the talk about how Naruto still loves Sakura according to filler episode 235, it's nowhere to be found.

And you know what takes the cherry on the pie, they completely delete any mention on how Yamato implied that Sakura's feelings for Naruto are more than friendship. I understand if they want to support certain character in any way they can, but to go as far as to delete freaking CANON material is just going to far. Next thing you know they'll start deleting any mention of how Sasuke has tried to kill Sakura and say he's secretly in love with her.

It's like they're on a mission to avoid any mention of Sakura's feeling for Naruto and emphasize it as just some friendship that will never be anything more. They even describe it as a sibling like relationship..... ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?

Sorry everyone, I guess reading that affected me more than I realized. sweatdrop.gif But hey this is just done by some fans so is obviously not something to care about. happy.gif

don't worry same happened to me and i am definitely waiting (though still doubt it a bit because of sakura's confused feelings) for NS to happen and go to narutopedia and laugh at those fans!!

I don't think even there that applies- it's more like she was in the state of complete emotional collapse and grabbed onto the person she realized was her emotional life raft. And also back up to Sakura's confession to Sasuke, look what she says to him to try to keep him from what she knew was a path of self destruction- it's clear she knows it's a one sided love: "You must hate me..." and her desperate plea about what she told Sasuke she was willing to do to save him from plunging completely into the darkness is also self-sacrificing- very naively so, but from that part of herself none the less....

The naive young girl was crushed, but a stronger, much more realistic young woman was born from that experience. That young woman took her first determined steps the moment she promised Naruto she would get stronger and the next time they would bring back Sasuke together. You can already see she's moving on from the young naive girl with the one sided crush on Sasuke even then. By the time she walks into Tsunade's office Naruto and Sasuke are fully equal in her feelings. By the beginning of part 2 it's all about Naruto, the bond to Sasuke is in small part the remnant of her old naive feelings, but mostly about the intense bond she knows Naruto and Sasuke shared. That is what she wants to see again when she talks about seeing Team 7 together again. She knows both boys need it.

Whether it did or not, it's all different now. Sakura is probably the one character that has changed the most since Part 1 and other than her familiar Tsunade qualities, she is not the same girl.

There was this one scene in the anime that even though it wasn't in the manga...I don't think. Well, I don't remember it anyway...where you see Naruto really young standing alone, crying, as the people look at him. You know the scene I am talking about. As you look n the crowd, you see Sakura's head pop out from behind her parents and staring at Naruto with almost this curiosity about him. She has this idea like "Why isn't anyone going to him?" Every time I see that scene, I think that is the real Sakura. Despite it being not a canon moment, I always liked it.

The development itself is what I think most people need to be looking at. How everything has played out over the course of the manga and how did Kishi portray everything he did. There is always the question that he could have made Sakura go in any direction he wanted, yet he made her go into this direction she is on now.

Oh yeah, I agree with this. I was just pointing out how selfish seemed a bit overly harsh a word- more accurate might be- too dependent on others, because her self-esteem, even as a ninja, was very low in part 1, enough so that every critique would land a crushing blow. (unless by someone she actively knew meant her harm, even if just emotionally- like when she and Ino fought at the Chunnin exams.) Plus the situation with Sasuke was already a net negative one for Sakura, and it had just went to the worst possible point to her, at that time. Emotionally she was a train wreck when she begged Naruto to help her. And look what happens, Naruto's words, not the outcome, was really all she needed to say goodbye to that naive young girl who had no real confidence in herself, to a person who make her own path to having confidence in herself as a ninja.

She still lets criticism by those that are close to her make her doubt herself personally though- like the lingering effect of Naruto's criticism in 469-70, but she now separates that from herself as a ninja (Note the immediate change in her mood from the love letter nin scene to a person on high alert where she quickly, and under complete emotional control the whole time, takes down the Zetsu impersonating Neiji and even quickly susses out the nature of his power... )

And no we don't see the scene through little Sakura's eyes in manga canon. However, we do see through Sakura's sad expression while Naruto speaks of his early childhood, that while she was completely unaware the prejudice he endured until some time after Team 7 formed it seriously weighs on her now. Heck, as a result of that and the intense danger she is finally told Naruto has been under for years, she comes close to confessing she has some kind of deep feelings for Naruto, to Naruto. (Chapter 261.) Naruto cuts off her words by a suspiciously obvious misdirection though and walks off.

Pierrot started off Shippuden with little fillers like that- something that could have happened with Sakura in connection to Naruto, but then they go back to their part 1 tricks of leaving out moments that portray Sakura's strengths and even moments where she has some positive connection to Naruto. For example, like how they recently rather obviously left out Sakura's moment of silent empathy toward Naruto after Sasuke basically publicly humiliates him in that fight in their Academy days.

Interesting newish angle there in the manga, it's Sakura who has the first moment of emotional connection to Naruto, not Naruto to her. We can see by Naruto's reaction to most the girls fangirling of Sasuke, that he hadn't yet developed an attraction to Sakura. So now there's a newish mystery, when and what caused Naruto to first single out Sakura as the object of his affection, despite her being gaga over Sasuke like most of the girls back then?

Did Sakura approach Naruto, say something vaguely sympathetic? We don't know. But that would fit with Sakura's usual- even early part 1- reaction to seeing someone physically or verbally bullied. She's still in the fearful, clinging to Ino stage there, so she hasn't yet started really fighting back against being bullied, but she showed a moment of recognition that what Sasuke had done to Naruto was a kind of bullying, and it bothers her in what looks like a moment of empathy. (Now that's a filler moment Pierrot could have done and it would have worked with manga canon...) It would also fit with Naruto's reaction back then to immediately feel a bond to anyone who actually acknowledged him as person.

Honestly I think the mere fact that she acknowledged him as a person would be incentive enough to like her from a younger Narutos perspective. A girl who acknowledges him as a person and doesnt ignore or otherwise treat him like trash, Golden in his mind. Add in his later revelation and voila.

though I grant you there could have been an incedent where he saw her stand up for herself even briefly, or she did or said something for him that could have caught his attention.

wow u have got a great filler idea over here but This kind of ideas could have only come to NS fan and not an NH supporter studio! Also i don't thik it would have been a very gud idea because earlier sakura was always fangirling about sasuke and never give a kitten thinking about Naruto until team 7 was formed and naruto came up with the shadow shuriken idea against zabuza! I still do think that why kishi still makes sakura think about sasuke and make others(sai, naruto) say things like she still loves sasuke!

the only thing about that confession is Naruto really knows sakura very well and even sai stated that she still loves sasuke, who(sai) was correct to point out that naruto have feelings for sakura so does his pointing out that sakura still loves sasuke is valid! Moreover kishi also did chapter 540 which was really not needed if he didn't wanted to show the feelings of sakura towards sasuke! I don't understand, how many of u guys are still so positive about NS happening(although i also want it to happen) when kishi has been really trying to give drawbacks to NS!

I know I have said this many times about chapter 540 and u try to give ur opinions about chapter 540 and that half hearted confession but do u really think that those moments were anti-SS and not anti-NS! I totally seem to get those moments as anti-NS!

although I do pray day and night for NS to happen i think the chances for it to happen are like 55-45 and not 99-1 or 90-10

Sakura wasn't always into Sasuke, even from part 1. Before she was even into that, she was an average girl who really didn't care. Like Kushina, people picked on her for her huge forehead. So like any girl her age how do you gain popularity? You try to land the popular guy. Who was popular? Sasuke was. It happens so many times. Like I said, the whole class was in love with Sasuke and fighting for his attention, including Ino. Do you think SasuIno has a chance to happen? She even grew here hair long to be "prettier."

When she realized people will accept her no matter what, like Naruto did, she started to change her attitude. She accepted Naruto and at times worried about him. She cut her hair. She even put down the make-up and wanted to be stronger for them. Especially for Naruto. Sakura even knows that naruto saved her from Gaara because Sasuke told her. Kind of funny how Sasuke could have taken the credit and didn't.

Wasn't there a big discussion about what Sai actually said? Wasn't it figured out that Sai said "loved" in a past tense, not present? Sai can see Naruto loves Sakura based on how he saw them interact. How can he know what Sakura feels about Sasuke when he wasn't even around for that? I still think this one was taken the wrong way because unless Sakura told Sai she was really in love with Sasuke, he wouldn't know much about that. Plus, we were not given a scene of that so we don't know if she did.

Then again, Sai did call Sasuke a gutless little h***. lol

On it's own, no. Compared to the rest of manga, yes. Instead of looking at JUST chapter 540. Look at everything around it for a moment. What Sakura has done for Naruto or having done with Naruto. Look at what Yamato said. Hundreds of moments where Sakura didn't even care about Sasuke and only looked to Naruto. Moments where all she cared about was Naruto. Kushina acting just like Sakura is now and saying the words "Pick a girl just like your mother." Why would Kishi put that? More moments supportive of NS.

If you want to speak of thoughts, what about this one?

A lot of people say this is not pro-NS, but come on. "We're going to be together." She is thinking about Naruto as we speak and saying she is going to be with him no matter what. And this thought is much later than chapter 540. If having just the thought of someone means you love them, then I guess Sakura loves Naruto since she is thinking about him right now and she doesn't have a depressed look on her face in this one. This one is more determined and strong willed.

If she does have any feelings for Sasuke, apparently they are not important enough to abandon Naruto for them. We know Naruto and Sasuke are going to fight and Sakura has chosen to side with Naruto.

Yes, and note how there is a long pause before she adds "not just me".

It's like in a way, but on a much more upbeat ending the love letter nin scene. I notice how those that are inclined to always think the worst of Sakura's character (despite Kishimoto even going as far as publicly defending Sakura at Jump Festa 2009 with a message to readers to please stop thinking negatively about her.) forget that the statement "I already am in love with someone" is split into the previous chapter and there her expression looks neutral but mildly sympathetic.

It's only in the next chapter where the love letter nin persists and begins to over praise her that she begins to look uncomfortable and unhappy- she's just been painfully reminded of her younger self's one sided crush on Sasuke, her recent shame over what she feels was her failing Naruto, and feeling sick and ashamed that she still carries remnants of her feelings for someone as terrible as Sasuke. (unlike what the love letter nin says, Sakura thinks she's not so great a person because of what she judges is her personal failings.)

But she splits that off from the rest of herself- it's her secret shame about herself, it has no bearing on herself as a ninja or even about her feelings of love for Naruto. It was Naruto himself, after all, who told her she was in denial if she thought she had eliminated all her feelings about Sasuke. She has enough assurance that Naruto has accepted the reality of her feelings, so that makes it that much easier for her to split off her shame from her love for Naruto. What Naruto doesn't know though, is that she is sick and ashamed about those remnants of feelings about Sasuke. He doesn't know how that makes her think so much less of herself personally than she should.

First of all sai didn't say it in past tense he said it more than two times in present tense

1)It's beacause she loves him she doesn't want him to sink any lower
2)It's because she loves him that she wants to rescue him from his evil path he walks now
3)even if the only way to do is to kill him with her own two hands, I believe she is prepared to do it, Because she loves him

These were the three statements by sai and I don't think it indicated past tense!

then the chapter 573

Sakura clearly stated not only her and naruto will be together but everyone which I can also consider a Anti romantic-NS moment! This just showed that she loves naruto only as friend and still loves sasuke! I guess this might not be true but just like we NS fans believe that chapter 540 made it pretty obvious she was sad of her having a crush on sasuke when she was little, many SS fans might take chapter 573 as completely their moment as my friend told me who is SS fan! He and me use to give our thoughts on which pairing is getting more drawbacks later on and i am completely losing! The last hundred paecent solid Anti-SS moment i had was when sasuke tried to kill her but then his pairing got the advantage when chapter 540 and 573 came! I can believe that the confession might be true, but do u think that other supporters who did not need to go into that much depth as we r going for that confession will believe that sakura's confession was true when naruto himself said that she loves sasuke so much and then sai made three sentences telling why she wants to kill sasuke that is because she loves him as i posted at the top in my post! Moreover when i told my friend about what u said about chapter 540 he said that might be making her sad but still that incident clearly told us that she loves sasuke because she would have thought of naruto if she loved him and not sasuke!

I also started reading the manga again and the onl place where i see that it might be hinting towards Sakura developing romantic feelings towards naruto were

1)the time when naruto went 4 tailed
2)when she was about to feed him

So pretty much this time i don't agree with ur post! Although i do hope that the things we believe about NS do come true near the end of manga but we all know manga is already reaching it's climax and i can't see kishi having a way to remove the feelings sakura showed towards sasuke in her mind in chapter 540 as well as her statement in chapter 573 of not only them but everyone will be together to turn into romantic feelings towards naruto in the end!

And I am not saying SS will happen i am just saying i don't want NS to happen until kishi clears her romantic feelings towards sasuke and change them all towards naruto! I really don't see he have a way to end sakura with naruto when he is showing that sakura still loves sasuke(chapter 540) and thinks of naruto as a friend(chapter 573). Also consider that kishi is not good writing romance so it is possible that he might mess it all up in the end and also might make a mistake making SS and NH canon!

*edit*-

As a person, who is somewhat neutral in the canon front, but loves NaruSaku as a dynamic, I think that one might argue that the 573 scene with Sakura could not be a romantic NS moment, but its still a good moment that she's got Naruto's back, which is quite frankly all I ask for, for the most part.

Well if I only wanted some NS moments and didn't care about the pairing becoming canon I would have been very happy! But I want the m to be canon therefore I can't be happy unless both of them see each other in romantic way which Naruto definitely sees but not sakura given her thoughts in chapter 540 and 573!

I can't say whether or not Sakura still loves Sasuke, in my own feeble mind, but then again, I'm not really concerned about her feelings with Sasuke. All I'm concerned is, how do Naruto and Sakura feel with each other and only each other without a 3rd person involvement. And again, I can't really figure it out unless they have a one-on-one conversation about everything about themselves and only themselves, that's when we will find out whether NaruSaku is canon in a romantic sense and if its not meant to be, then its not meant to be, but I just need to keep this positive energy and aura around at the moment. I know this suggesting a one-on-one conversation is kinda a broken record, but people keep making posts that makes me keep saying it. I just want that conversation between them and only them, then we can see if NS is canon. I'm not really worried about anything else, about the pairings, except that.

Also consider that kishi is not good writing romance so it is possible that he might mess it all up in the end and also might make a mistake making SS and NH canon!

If Kishi really makes SS and NH canon there's gonna be a lot of people that are gonna question what the hell was he thinking when developing Naruto's relationship with Sakura, here's a list of question that I can imagine:

1) Why make the hero selflessly love so much a girl (Sakura) just to make him change his mind at the last second and love another one (Hinata)? I'm sure that the majority of Naruto fans in Japan aren't even that dedicated to the romantic development as we are and I'm pretty sure many are already just calmly waiting for the moment that Sakura returns her feelings to Naruto, so if it doesn't happen there's gonna be a lot of confused people at the end of this manga.

2) Why make Yamato's unfinished sentence which had a romantic implication? If Kishi wasn't interested in hinting at Sakura's possible romantic feelings for Naruto then he should've left Yamoto's talk with Sakura at "What's important is how you feel about Naruto". That's a statement that could've gone either way but then Kishi felt the need to add "Sakura, I can tell just by looking at you, the truth is you-" and that's were he left it. Anyone with half a brain know that when a sentence like that gets started only to be interrupted it implies a romantic feeling, it's been done to death in many other anime. The fans in Japan know it and Kishi knows it so they'd be seriously questioning why he decided to tease people like that only for the outcome to be entirely different. That one is not about being bad at writing romance, that's just poor taste.

3) Why on earth make one of Kushina's wishes for Naruto to find someone like his mother? I'm pretty sure that no one believes that Kishi made Kushina say a statement like that simply at random, sure many mothers want their boys to find a good woman like them but in this case that statement carries to much weight to be ignored by anyone. You want to know why so many NH fans are obsessed at making Kushina and Hinata have the tiniest resemblance, it's because they are aware that the one Naruto's mother resembles the most in looks and mannerisms is Sakura, they truly know it but there is no chance they will ever admit it. This is one of the facts that got them truly scared, especially when you consider that by the following chapter Naruto reaffirms that he has followed many of her mother's advices and that he plans to do his best with the ones he still hasn't (like eating more vegetables).

You can't help but wonder why he decided to avoid the mention about finding a girl he likes, right? Kishi might plan to bring up that particular one later on maybe because Naruto need to be near the girl he likes in order to trigger that memory, therefore making it more dramatic. Now, anyone, please answer me honestly can you imagine Naruto remembering the "Find a girl like me" while looking at Hinata, what logical sense would there be if that scene happened? I'm 100% sure that if you asked a Japanese Naruto fan that didn't really care about parings which girl did Kushina resembled the most they would immediately say Sakura (that's the only answer that makes sense, anyone else would look forced).

If Kishi made Naruto start liking Hinata then what was the point of that sentence? Even if Kishi was a bad romance writer I'm sure that he knew what he was getting himself into when he chose to make Kushina say what she said. If he wanted to keep it vague he could've just made Kushina say "I know you'll want a girlfriend some day, just remember to find someone that loves you very much", actually now that I read it back what I wrote would actually imply NH more than NS. If I can accidentally make an NH hint as simply as that, then I'm sure Kishi really thought about what Kushina had to say very carefully before he wrote it down. I'm sure many people would question why he would make NH if what Kushina said clearly contradicted it.

4) Why make it a point that Naruto would go to any lengths just to make Sakura happy, even at the sacrifice of his own happiness just to make Naruto end up alone? Isn't this characteristic of Naruto something that Kishi portrays so that people can strive to be that way? I'm sure he wants to show Naruto as a selfless person as a lesson to egotistical people that being self centered is not a good quality. Can you imagine that after all Naruto does he ends up with no love to show for it? The search of love is one of the most important missions in life for many people. So taking that in mind can you imagine how saddened many people, who take Naruto as an example of how they should be, would be if Sakura just went to be with Sasuke, who represents the complete opposite of the characteristic Naruto shows.

It's a complete slap in the face to people who root for Naruto, it's like saying that wishing the best for someone will only cause for you to end up alone with no one to love. It's as if the lesson was that if you like a girl it's important to be rude, cold and completely selfish, that's the only was she'll like you back. But if you work hard to make a girl happy she'll always leave you for another guy. Kinda sad it's it? You could argue that because of Naruto selflessness he has someone like Hinata loving him, but guess what, not everyone has the luxury of having a Hinata to love us. If you want to find love you can't wait for it to come to you, you have to work hard and go to it, that's what I get from Naruto's devotion to Sakura.

5) Why make Jiraiya/Tsunade and Obito/Rin symbols of tragic love that was unfulfilled and then make it a parallel of Naruto/Sakura if not to communicate something. One of the main messages of the series is that the next generations surpasses the previous one and this is no different, which I'm sure that many other fans are aware of. If Naruto doesn't get Sakura not only is this message denied but it also gives the bad message that the kind of guy who would do all in his power for the girl he loves (Jiraiya always watching over Tsunade, and Obito convincing Kakashi of saving Rin) will never have anything to show for it, it will always end in tragedy.

The more I write this the more I'm convinced that Kishimoto would have lot to answer for if he didn't make NaruSaku happen. So many elements are in their favor, it's ridiculous: parallel, development and the important lessons this kind of love teaches. Kishimoto is one of the greatest writers in Japan as of now, so I refuse to believe he's just some stupid guy that doesn't realize the weight he has put into this paring. He know the weight of it and he know that his fan are aware of it too.

Damn this turned out to be longer than expected, but I hope you get my point.

He and me use to give our thoughts on which pairing is getting more drawbacks later on and i am completely losing!

I'm sorry, Lord, but you miss every single NS moment since Part 1 and are so focused and corrupted by Chapter 540 so much that you are completely over looking every other moment based solely around fear.

I am going to ask you the biggest questions/notions I ask to a biased NaruHina fan who can't even answer either.

1. How come every time Sakura just THINKS about Sasuke it is purely because she is deeply and madly in love with him, but if she EVER thinks about Naruto it is purely a friendship and platonic brotherly-sister relationship? Naruto thinks about Sasuke too does that automatically assume he is madly in love with him as well? A doube-standard question with a double-standard answer. Why couldn't Sakura think of Sasuke as a teammate or friend or better yet a past love? Past as in former. As in she doesn't love him anymore. I have such memories myself. I sometimes think of past relationships I have and think "Why did I even fall for them?"

2. If Naruto even looks at Hinata with a questioned look, it is PURE PRO-NARUHINA, but if Sakura HUGS Naruto it is a brotherly-sister thing? (Even hugging him the same way Kushina did.)Why the hell didn't Hinata hug Naruto then if she is so much in love with him? She should have been the first one RIGHT OFF THE BAT, pushing Sakura aside to be the first to hug him. Hell, AT LEAST hug him afterwords, but Kishi didn't even draw that. WHY? Hugging someone is a different cultural reaction in Japan than it is in America.

3. How come Sakura can think of Naruto even STATING TO STAND BY HIM [u]NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS is considered a "friendship" thing, but Hinata says she wants to hold his hand it is automatically a pro-naruhina moment? What if Hinata wanted to hold Naruto's hand in a friendship manner too? What if she wanted to back him up like a friend too? Because we know Hinata has the hots for him? Is that all that makes the difference?

4. SAKURA DOES NOT WANT TO MAKE ANY MISTAKES. LYING TO NARUTO IS A HUGE MISTAKE. If Sakura knew what Naruto was going to say even before she confessed, then why did she confess anyway? She could have just said "Naruto, I love Sasuke, but I don't want to lose you. I don't want anything bad to happen. Please don't do this." The scene COULD have played out just like that and I bet you. I BET YOU no one would even dare question it. Would we the NS have the right to say "Oh she was lying to manipulate Naruto?" I also think she is not that shallow or stupid that people keep claiming she is. Otherwise, Hinata is shallow and stupid too because she does the same things. I have pointed this out more times and constantly, you bring up Chapter 540. ONE PANEL I guess negates everything else that has happened in the manga.

Also mentioned that Sakura told Naruto, in a fit of anger no doubt, that he doesn't understand a woman's heart. Even from beginning of Shippuden, even Jiraiya berated Naruto for not seeing a girl's heart or understanding how woman act. That scene she blushed at Naruto and flirted with him, but this was just a sisterly gesture right? Doesn't your sister flirt with you and blush around you too? Maybe your friends?

5. WHAT IF SAI MEANT AS A FRIEND LOVE OR A BROTHERLY LOVE TOWARDS SASUKE? Naruto loves Sasuke like a brother, why couldn't Sakura? Why couldn't Sakura love Sasuke like a friend or brother as well? Like I said, it can happen where people change emotions about people or mistake feelings for something else.

6. If Sakura loves Sasuke so much, then why didn't she join him when she had a chance? Why didn't she keep the attitude she used to have in Part 1 and not give a crap about Naruto or any of it? She could have joined him at any moment in the manga and yet Kishi didn't do any of that. Speaking of which, if Sakura is so madly in love with Sasuke, why did she even make that side trip to Naruto in the first place? Isn't that just a waste of time and energy? Wouldn't it have been more effective just to go after Sasuke? Come on. If Sakura is so jaded, and shallow like everyone claims, she shouldn't even be giving a crap about Naruto. She shouldn't care at all with what he thinks or feels. "So what if Naruto loves me, I have the hots for Sasuke."

Look how Karin acted when she loved Sasuke and look how Hinata does around Naruto. Sakura acts NOTHING like that around Sasuke at all in Part 2, yet she acts like that around Naruto from time to time

7. IF NH AND SS ARE SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN, THEN WHY HAVE ALL THE DEVELOPMENT AND INTERACTION BETWEEN THE NARUTO AND SAKURA? And I don't mean JUST romantic moments. I am mean EVERY moment from the friendly, to the casual, to even just saying "hi" to each other. When ever you read the manga, it is ALWAYS Naruto and Sakura together. 90% of the manga is nothing, but Naruto and Sakura interaction. The development itself from part 1 to now is centered all around Naruto and Sakura.

8. SasuSaku is dead. Sasuke killed it himself. There is no way around this logic. There is no magic way out. There is nothing. I am sorry people like to live in denial, but Sasuke has not once, not twice, but several times killed this pairing. If seeing Sakura during the Danzo fight did NOT change his ideas or change his thoughts, then nothing ever will. He doesn't care about her. He doesn't care about Naruto.

9. WHY THE HELL CAN'T CHAPTER 573 BE A PRO-NARUSAKU MOMENT? Because we don't want to see it as us being biased? Is this how every NaruSaku moment occurs we say "We don't want to seem biased, so it is not a moment." I say screw it. I say screw the NH fans, screw the SS fans, screw every other fan who disagrees, even screw my own people if they don't agree. I am tired of playing these games of trying to figure out what is a legitimate moment and what isn't when several scenes are very similar to each other. I am tired of having to down play NS scenes just because the other pairing fans get upset by it. Enough is enough. If they can't see the NS moments or disagree with us, that's too bad. I am tired of ignoring the obvious just so I can cater to the others when they won't even do the same for me.

If people want to claim that Naruto even acknowledging Hinata's existence is a NH moment, then chapter 573 is a PRO-NS moment. Especially when this scene itself has more backing to it than any NaruHina scene in this entire manga.

SAKURA IS STICKING BY NARUTO KNOWING THE FACT THAT HE IS GOING TO FIGHT SASUKE. KNOWING THAT EITHER ONE OR BOTH MIGHT DIE IN THE BATTLE. KNOWING THAT SASUKE HAS TRIED TO HER KILL AT LEAST TWICE, MAYBE MORE. KNOWING THAT NARUTO LOVES HER WITH ALL HIS HEART.

For someone who people claim she is madly in love with Sasuke, she is not doing much or thinking much of him. She is thinking about Naruto right now. She is not thinking "Oh, I hope Naruto comes through and brings my true love back." She is not thinking "Oh I am going to hold Sasuke's hand someday and have kids with him." If she is madly in love with Sasuke, I am expecting her to be portrayed like how Hinata is now over Naruto. Basing all her thoughts around him. Claiming goals to be with him. Trying everything she can to get his attention. She's not even doing that. What is she doing? Going after Naruto. GOING AFTER NARUTO.

*takes a big, long, deep, breathe*

Okay, sorry. Lost my cool there. It's frustrating when you keep bringing up chapter 540 and ignoring everything else that happened. You're looking at one tree and saying "I know how the forest is laid out."

NaruSaku is the ONLY pairing where there has been any back and forth interaction and reciprocation. Whether or not you believe it was a truth or a lie is irrelevant because of the act itself. The fact that it even happened is the proof. The fact that Kishimoto has this much interaction between two characters who we KNOW have feelings for each other is enough for me to say that this is direction he is going for.

Hinata loves Naruto. That is a fact. Another fact is that Naruto has made no attempt to reciprocate these feelings at all. To claim he never had a chance is down right a lie and there are many times where he could have.

Sakura used to love Sasuke. (The very fact that whether she still does is up for debate tells me something too) is a fact. What is also a fact is that Sasuke never reciprocated these feelings. It is also a fact that he tried to kill her and never thought twice about. What does that say?

Naruto loves Sakura. It has been confirmed time and time again. It is a fact. Does Sakura love Naruto? According to Kishimoto she does. Where does it say this?

The mother of all facts. The biggest PRO-NS fact is in a 2009 interview:
QUOTE
"Q: As for Sakura... Sasuke... what about Sasuke? Naruto is close and she worries about Naruto as well, but as expected, she for.. Sasuke.
Because of this, she acted quite haughty towards that guy. She used Naruto's love for her and told him she loved him.

Kishimoto:
On the contrary.... I felt like depicting an honest girl, with a surprisingly stubborn impression.
So... she became such a character, but... well... from here on, maybe I should draw her showing a bit more spirit.
I figured I had placed her in a heroin-like situation
But from the readers I was told harshly that she wasn't heroin-ish at all
Perhaps I should show depict her a bit more like a heroin
Because you say 'Hinata Hinata,' I say 'She's not Hinata' "

If the writer says she was being honest, you cannot say anything against it. You cannot deny the author himself when he says what he does, but people still want to say Kishimoto was lying to us. The things people will say just so they can be right.

Note: I keep editing this due to spelling and grammar errors. ><

If the writer says she was being honest, you cannot say anything against it. You cannot deny the author himself when he says what he does, but people still want to say Kishimoto was lying to us. The things people will say just so they can be right.

Note: I keep editing this due to spelling and grammar errors. ><

Maybe a little, but I am not insulting his intelligence or saying he is stupid. I just think he is so focused on chapter 540 that he is missing out on everything else that has happened in the manga.

Being Close-minded is just as bad as being biased. At least I think it is.

I'm sorry Lord287 if I said anything that might have offended you or hurt your feelings. I didn't mean to, but it does get really frustrating at times when people ignore some things based purely because of one panel. It is the one reason why we have these discussions so we don't just examine one panel or post only. I much rather look at the panel and reflect it over the course of the entire manga.

It's easy to point at a certain event or panel and say how much it supports or unsupports your pairing choice. It's the one reason why I came here because it's this back and forth notion whether one panel proves or disproves something that is aggravating. People want us to be unbiased about how we see the manga and the best way to do that is look at the panels and how they form together across the whole manga. There is just so much info people neglect or ignore just because of a biased view.

Yeah I tend to be biased sometimes, but I would like to think that I base my ideas on looking how everything has played out over the course of the manga, not just go by on a panel to panel bases.

I am not going to say that Chapter 573 alone supports NS, but to deny that it doesn't have something to do with it is just...wrong.

I didn't see it as bashing per se, but, yeah, James, try to lay off the caps use.

While I don't have any say in your behavior at youtube, do keep in mind our cross-forums rules. If your going to run around an post this just to cram it up their butts then don't invoke the forum's name or its members doing it and don't bring any arguments it causes back here.

I would think the spirit of the not bashing rule would suggest not running around all over the place posting stuff just to piss them off. If you want to engage in debate that's one thing, but by your words that is not what you seek to do.

Anyway, keep the forum rules in mind.

I do have a question though (and this is directed at more people than just you): Given the wasteland that is youtube comment sections, why do guys care so much about what's in them?

After watching like around four years of youtube videos and reading the comments, I have no idea why people care about reading them. I mean, at one point, people is thinking I should really stop reading these comments since most of them are either really negative or talking about an element that does not have to do with the video, but they still read anyway. I could say because the reader really cares about what the comments have to say, but that's what forums with a good regulation of rules are for. I think people care so much about what's in them as a way to boost morale for themselves, if that makes sense.

As a result, people should really get add-ons for blocking youtube comments, sometimes those comments are not really good for the mind. All the comments does is make people angry when it does not even have to be the case.

Great post, and James I feel your frustration. I'll just add to this one with a tiny bit more. Heck, even the special color illustrations Kishimoto draws from time to time at the start of chapters frequently shows an Naruto and Sakura interaction focus (even back in part 1- seriously, go look and be surprised, the older ones are reprinted in the Naruto artbooks) And geez- Kishimoto had two this month in Jump with Naruto deliberately and mischievously provoking a reaction from Sakura....

I'll try. Sorry. I am just trying to drive some points home because it feels like people are starting to ignore them due mostly out of fear of Chapter 540.

Thanks, Ciardha. I don't like being aggravated, but it happens.

When I first started reading Naruto I was a NaruHina fan myself. I thought they were cute together, but I realized that I only liked them because of how it looked, not how it was. When you saw the change in Sakura and Naruto's dedication to her and how Kishimoto has betrayed them whether in the manga or some side project, it shows. It shows how the author thinks. It shows how he wants the manga to go. It shows just as much as how Peirrot does with the anime and how they favor Hinata more with all the extra stuff they give her.

There is just so much that shouldn't be ignored, but people do for the sake of biased opinions or afraid to be disappointed.
