Apparently the first poster was just a teaser poster- this is the one that will be used on official goods- you can see a bag with the image on this page that they are putting out now as promo device

http://www.beisiaden...ruto_120408.jpg

Heh, the summary and this poster is making the Sakura bashers on more general Naruto forums panic today.

Edit: nice big scan of the official poster

http://img820.images.../picture1ku.jpg

Interesting, judging by this one poster, it looks like the Akatsuki members aren't just resurrected as zombies, they're actually alive again. It's sort of hard to see, but you can tell with most of them that their eyes aren't blacked in like the Edo Tensei zombies in the manga. I guess it makes sense, since Hidan was included in the earlier summary, and it would be impossible to resurrect him with ET, considering he's technically still alive in the manga.
I guess I'm inclined to think that they really are just part of the genjutsu, since the earlier summary seemed to confirm that they were actually 'killed' at some point. Either way, I'm definitely more interested in this movie right now.

Also, is it me, or does Sakura have the exact face as Naruto's parents? I'm not sure if they're ship-teasing with that, or if the animators are just lazy. tongue.gif

Looking at the original poster with Konoha 9, makes me think this has to be some kind of Alternate Universe, noy just because of both parents being their but it appears Ino and Hinata have swapped costumes, Ino is comepletely covered and Hinata appears to be much more bold, plus the expressions don't match the two girls.

But darn it we still have to wait 12 monhts before we'll get to see the movie, I want to know what's going on here, why is Ataksuki members still alive, same with Naruto's parents, and why does the Kyuubi look so dark.

Wrong. The official movie posters are usually vertical, not horizontal. This is probably another promotional poster.

If Kishi doesn't make NaruSaku happen not only will he disappoint us, he'll disappoint his storymaking process and most importantly he'll disappoint Kushina.

Kushina: "Don't fell for a weird one, find someone like your mother, like me."

KISHI IS ABSOLUTELY FORBIDDEN OF LETTING KUSHINA DOWN! rawr.gif Never underestimate the power of love from a mother to her child. The minute she said that sentence I knew NaruSaku had to become canon, if we have someone like Kushina shipping on our side we have nothing to fear.

err.gif

I'm curious where you got the idea that the official movie posters are "usually vertical not horizontal" As DK showed you, official anime movie posters are frequently produced in both formats... I did a quick search just of of the official Naruto movie posters and found horizontal and vertical versions for most of them....

Link vertical version here- since you missed it the first time:

http://www.beisiaden...ruto_120408.jpg

And apparently you missed what I wrote too, quoting myself- "Apparently the first poster was just a teaser poster- this is the one that will be used on official goods- you can see a bag with the image on this page that they are putting out now as promo device."

The official movie poster image is used to promote the movie. The first poster was a teaser poster to draw attention to the fact a new Naruto movie is being made, the official movie poster, put on promotional items prior to the movie hitting theators is to keep up the excitement. They make the posters in both formats- likely to draw the eye- horizontal formats stand out more... (also horizontal- more like a scroll (a reading format that persisted in Japan a lot longer than in the west, and kind of gives it more a dramatic context, and of course like a movie screen too...)

Really? show me. Official movie posters are the ones shown in theaters, not one shown in the websites or any other media of that sort. The latter are called "promotionals" not yet official.

EDIT: facepalm.png NO, NO, wrong, ciardha that is not an official poster. That's simply a promotional poster. Official posters are drawn vertically not horizontally. Get my point?

EDIT2: Very well, I concede. But it doesn't change the fact that it's a promotional not official. The official movie poster usually comes out about a month or two before the movie comes out.

I'm actually agreeing with Codus. Just google "Naruto movie official poster" and you'll see all of them are vertical. Official posters are those shown outside of theaters with the opening date and other details like the casts. Its the same for western official movie posters. Google that too and you'll see.

Try bing. You'll see both formats for the official movie posters. (Google has seriously deteriorated lately in image search quality, while Bing has majorly improved. I know the past couple of months when I did image searches for various subjects it took pages and pages to find the right one on Google, where on Bing I found what I was looking for quickly, often the first image hits. It's made me about give up on google...)

And as for always having opening dates and casts on official movie posters, even in the west that's not true. You should be able to find some official ones for some of the Star Wars and Star Trek movies- that have only the image and movie title, and I know of one Star Trek one that didn't even have the title- just the image... And yes they were official- the Trek one without even the title was displayed in the movie theater when I went to see the film (Star Trek 3). There are usually several versions of the official movie poster released- even in the west. You have the first version, designed to create and hold interest, that will have just an image and title. Closer to opening date you get the version you and Codus think are the "only official movie posters" with an opening date and in small print major cast and crew. Sometimes they'll make variant ones that are still official movie posters- done for Star Trek III and Empire Strikes Back for example.

In Japan movies are hyped even more than in the west, and the official movie poster image is slapped on those items... In other words, as I already said, the official movie poster image is used to promote the movie.

The first poster was a teaser poster- likely done by Kishimoto (style is a bit different from his usual- but the color style really looks like his.) and will likely eventually be an insert extra in the DVD release.... The image you are seeing now is more than likely the official one. Closer to the movie release date you'll get a version with the release date and cast and crew listing. If you go to the official movie website (I did today) the poster image we've seen today is plastered all over the pages.... So yeah, looks like is this is the official movie poster image....

Oh, and sorry Codus, afraid I'm not a cougar. laugh.gif
